0 stars. Extremely disappointing salon experience. Despite a weeks-ahead booking and providing inspo, service was VERY late (stylist hadn't even arrived), consultation was rushed, my suggestions were dismissed, and the stylist brushed away attempt to share inspiration photos. I asked for a low-maintenance, edgy, mid length, layered shag cut specifically asking them to err long. I left with a blunt, shoulder-length "football helmet" cut that does not suit my hair type AT ALL or style preferences. The stylist was unprofessional, spent the appointment complaining about personal issues, and the final result was a complete failure to meet the agreed-upon service. So sad to say Avoid this salon...or at least be cautious with your stylist and walk out if you get a bad feeling early. read more

Highly recommend Harlow! Not only do the stylists do exceptional work, the atmosphere of the salon makes it enjoyable to spend the time there it takes to achieve the hair of my dreams. This is the only place to go in Mobile if you are or want to be a blonde, and even if you don't, you might just consider it after seeing these girl's work. read more

Complete scheduling disaster. Booked appointment on Vagaro serveral days in advance. Showed up for appointment, and alas, no appointment. Was rescheduled. However, when I called back 10 minutes later to cancel, they didn't even have that appointment on the books. Very annoyed that I now have to find another salon. read more

I do not recommend this salon for anything other than a cut. I asked to have a balayage treatment done to my hair, something very natural that flows. I specifically asked to avoid any color coming from my roots and I verbalized I did not want highlights. My stylist did not glance at my picture of the kind of balayage treatment I wanted done as she talked about a new color treatment she had just learned that was better than balayage. I agreed to try it as long as it looked like my picture and looked natural. FOUR HOURS later..my hair is finished and I have blonde streaks/highlights (I have dark brown hair) coming from my roots. The streaks framing my face are so blonde that they're white, in which the stylist confirmed she had left the foil on too long for that section. This is nothing like I had asked for, yet I paid a fortune for it. I am getting it fixed at another salon, as I do not trust anyone at that salon to perform a color treatment on my hair. read more

If you are looking for a salon staffed with professionals who actually DELIVER.... look no farther!!! This place was the answer to my prayers!!! I've had bleached blonde hair my entire adult life and that was fine when I kept my hair short. However, growing platinum hair is another story:( I spent about three years throwing money away - paying people to destroy my hair;( I'd pretty much given up on being able to have both blonde and long hair.... every salon I went to fried my hair!!! And basically told me it was impossible to have both. Thank GOD, my daughter told me to give this place a try. What did I have to loose? So, I did..... and WOW!!!!! I will NEVER go anywhere else. The best feeling on earth is when your beautician has lightened your hair to the perfect shade of blonde that you requested and she is brushing your newly blonde wet hair out and NO hair is on the brush!!!! My hair felt healthier after the processing than it did when I went there!!!! Unbelievable!! I can only speak for myself- and what I can say, without reservation, is this salon is the BEST salon in this entire region- in my opinion. read more

While the stylist was very kind, she gave me pretty bad hot roots. She tried to fix it but I was there for over 3 hours and the obvious contrast in my root and the rest of my hair wasn't fixed. Still paid $120+ before tip, but with that price and that big of a mess up, I can't justify ever going back. read more

New clients are paired with a level one stylist, and in my experience the quality of work and follow-up were extremely disappointing. During my first appointment with stylist Taylor Harvey, I was left with visible bleach blotches in my hair. Despite reaching out to have this corrected, I received no response. It wasn't until FOUR MONTHS later, when another issue arose, that the situation was finally addressed. During my third appointment with Taylor Harvey, I came in with clear reference photos and trusted that my hair was in capable hands. Unfortunately, there was a continued lack of professionalism. Clear communication is essential during first-time and follow-up appointments, and that did not happen here. When the final result did not match what I had asked for, I was only informed AFTER expressing concern that my desired look could not be achieved because I was booked for a partial service; a limitation that should have been explained at the beginning of the appointment. Instead, the situation was framed as a misunderstanding on my end rather than a lack of transparency. I am a college student and made it clear that this appointment was a significant expense and my primary discretionary spending. Despite this, I was still expected to pay additional costs to correct issues that stemmed from limitations that were never communicated upfront. When I attempted to contact the owner to discuss these concerns, I was told they were "too busy" to speak with me directly. As a business owner, accountability for the work of those you employ is essential, and the lack of direct communication was disappointing. The receptionist was also invasive regarding my situation and showed little empathy. It is frustrating to now have to place my trust in yet another person to fix my hair when that trust should have been honored from the start. Overall, professionalism, transparency, accountability, and compassion were lacking. Coming here to respond to said owners response, I'm sorry, but I called your receptionist DAY of when I got my hair done ( by the way, it is already yellow!!) and I ASKED for you (the owner) to the receptionist. And she told me she would give you my info. So no, I did NOT try to schedule "2 hours" before said appointment. My message a week earlier was never conveyed to you. Truly so upsetting.

I began doing some research on salons in the area earlier this year and came across Harlow Salon and my stylist Meaghan Searl and I'm so glad I did!! She's so talented and kind!
