My daughter and I have been coming to this off leash dog park well before she had a dog. Before you think that's a tad crazy-ish, I'll tell you we first found it when we saw a sign at the bottom of the hill about eight years ago. You see we really just went there to see the old mansion that has now become the Creuzberg center. But imagine our surprise when we saw about 30 dogs running around on a hill having the absolute time of their lives! They have the time of their lives because they are off their leashes running up and down the hill in huge circles, sometimes in packs. Sometimes just one or two together. Here's what happens here -- A car comes up the hill to the parking lot and the dog inside is going crazy because it knows where it is. It's here and the dog is going to see his friends. The owner lets the dog out of the car And once the dog is on the field, all the other dogs come up to greet the new dog. There's a lot of sniffing going on and then they finally figure out that they all know each other. Then one of them cocks their head towards the field as if to say "we're glad you're here let's get back to playing " I kid you not that's how all the dogs are greeted. It becomes pretty obvious that most of these dogs know each other and they dig hanging out in the park. But it's also also obvious the newbies are welcomed. It doesn't take a long time for a new dog to be welcomed. This beautiful space is huge enough to accommodate dozens and dozens of dogs. But for the most part on a weekday you might see 10 running around having a great time. So for many years my daughter and I came back once a year with a cup of coffee just to watch over the " Fun" . It truly is Fun, heartwarming and entertaining. For the last three years I have been coming with my daughters dog named Baby. Baby is a Chihuahua dachshund mix Who is only 8 pounds but think she's a big dog. She loves it here..

Fantastic Dog Park, come here frequently. Unfortunately today, an owner of a Doberman Pincher & another dog came and right out of the car aggressive to other dogs including one of mine. Then moments later as he got into an altercation where it didn't stop biting other dogs including my dog, drawing blood on my dog. We left as concern for our safety. Please keep a close eye on your own dog as well as be aware of other "friendly" dogs. If your dog has any aggression towards other people or dogs that do not live with you, please do not bring them here. This is not the place to teach your dog socialization, it's for those that are beyond that point, ready to make friends. Of course it's a public space, so what you want, but please be considerate for your dogs safety and the safety of others. Other than this one time experience, fantastic place to bring your fur babies for a nice open field, water fountains, benches, plenty of parking, plastic bags for pick up, and bin for garbage.

The ultimate playground for man's best friend. I recently adopted a puppy, after my much beloved pooch of 13 yrs passed.. He is about the happiest, laid back pup I've ever seen. He loves, I mean LOVES to play. Luckily I live less than 2 miles from this incredible dog park. In the past few months he has made so many doggie-BFFs while playing at this park, I've lost count. The dog park is located in the 31 acre Harford Park. The area for dogs (off leash) is about 5+ acres and includes a stream that dogs are allowed to splash in and a dog-friendly drinking fountain. On any given evening or throughout the weekends a steady stream of social, well-behaved dogs arrive, run free and play; chasing balls, sticks or one-another while their human counterparts chit-chat (mostly about dogs). This park must be as close to paradise, for a dog, as is possible. But alas, not all dogs are made for a dog park, and the people here will kindly ask you to remove an ill-behaved dog should they deem it necessary. Luckily, those instances are fairly rare. The people who bring their dogs here are savvy dog folk who know even the best dog "has its days." My recently "passed" dog wasn't social enough for this park-so we only went when we knew the park would be fairly empty and kept her leashed. She still enjoyed it. While the park is free to all, you can support the dog park with a small $10 per year donation that goes toward droppings bags, trash collection and general upkeep of the dog-friendly features. Seems a very small price to pay if, like me, you and your dog spend a lot of time there. But no one asks for a donation nor is one required to enjoy the dog-centric vibe. In sum: Five paws up. Woof!

Great place for dogs...and people

Not fenced. Plenty of room for your dog to get away. Really beautiful but I just drove 20 minutes with a crying dog to a park he cant use.

This park is amazing. There's no fence so watch your pup! There is so much space to run around and a water fountain.

Best dog park we've ever been to! We've been coming here for 3 years and there are so many other puppies our dogs get to meet and play with!

The park is huge and although the main road is not close by, there isn't a fence to contain a loose dog.

Haverford Reserve Dog Park - Poop lots and lots of poop

Haverford Reserve Dog Park

It has multiple levels, platforms, tubes, benches, tables, toys, and water. The parking lot is gigantic and there are trails nearby for walks. Of course poop bags are also available on-site. As with all dog parks, but especially this one because it is so popular, you are going to encounter irresponsible owners and badly behaved dogs. I have seen owners glued to their phones, with headphones in, smoking cigarettes and completely ignoring the fact that their dog is either taking a sh!t or acting aggressively. I have seen folks arguing about whether an aggressive dog belongs in the park. And lastly, cars do get robbed. Don't leave valuables in your car! Pay attention and stay engaged, and hopefully you and your pup(s) will have a great time.

They have a smaller side for small dogs and the big dog space is hugeeee. Kinda wish the smaller side was just as interactive. There's a hose/ water fountain on both sides and plenty of balls. Either way, my 20-25lbs pups enjoyed both sides and were tired as heck after. The fellow dog owners were fairly friendly and were watching their pups. I'm sure there are a few who aren't as attentive but luckily I didn't run into those folks. This will be our dog park from here forward.

The ball fields and fieldhouse have separate entrances up the hill from the administration offices. The dog park is across Ellis Ave, along Ellis Ave. The female ball fields are across Bishop Hollow, on the side opposite all of the rest of the park. Soccer fields are behind the library off of Ellis Ave. Playground is hard to find; it is in way back corner behind soccer field. There are these weird "paths" back there, like someone had extra asphalt and dumped it out as far as they could go to make a halfazz sidewalk. It's more of a liability than an asset. Don't let your kids walk there because they'll trip. (Luckily, I did not learn the hard way.) Playground is a little worn, but served its purpose. Playstructure with 3 slides, "rope bridge" which was really made of metal, corkscrew fireman pole, bouncy rides, dino figure to climb on, and swings. The walking path extends from Bishop Hollow Rd (in dog park across from Library), down Ellis Ave, across Ellis past the soccer field, up past playground, and back behind ball fields, to wrap around between them to ball field parking lot. Basketball courts are right next to Library, and are SUPER POPULAR in the summer, so get there early if you wanna turn.
