This Park is large, unfenced, has a creek and is large. My Husky actually found a woman having a heart attack in her car and we were able to get an ambulance in time. I was watching a couple of dogs, including my own, and decided to take them to Harford Park. Harford Park is located in Wayne and is definitely unique from other dog parks in the area. Harford Park is giant with tons of grass and hills for the dogs to explore. The park actually stretches all the way down towards a little creek near the bottom. The size of the park is great because it allows for the big and/or energetic dogs to hangout while also giving enough room for other dogs to be by themselves and relax. There are lots of cute dogs here and I saw many today including border collies, huskies, shepherds and terriers! The biggest downside of Harford Park is that there is no fence meaning that some dogs can get access to the parking lot, which can be dangerous. Altogether, Harford Park is a great place to take your dog to be in nature and spend time with other dogs! read more

My daughter and I have been coming to this off leash dog park well before she had a dog. Before you think that's a tad crazy-ish, I'll tell you we first found it when we saw a sign at the bottom of the hill about eight years ago. You see we really just went there to see the old mansion that has now become the Creuzberg center. But imagine our surprise when we saw about 30 dogs running around on a hill having the absolute time of their lives! They have the time of their lives because they are off their leashes running up and down the hill in huge circles, sometimes in packs. Sometimes just one or two together. Here's what happens here -- A car comes up the hill to the parking lot and the dog inside is going crazy because it knows where it is. It's here and the dog is going to see his friends. The owner lets the dog out of the car And once the dog is on the field, all the other dogs come up to greet the new dog. There's a lot of sniffing going on and then they finally figure out that they all know each other. Then one of them cocks their head towards the field as if to say "we're glad you're here let's get back to playing " I kid you not that's how all the dogs are greeted. It becomes pretty obvious that most of these dogs know each other and they dig hanging out in the park. But it's also also obvious the newbies are welcomed. It doesn't take a long time for a new dog to be welcomed. This beautiful space is huge enough to accommodate dozens and dozens of dogs. But for the most part on a weekday you might see 10 running around having a great time. So for many years my daughter and I came back once a year with a cup of coffee just to watch over the " Fun" . It truly is Fun, heartwarming and entertaining. For the last three years I have been coming with my daughters dog named Baby. Fantastic Dog Park, come here frequently. Unfortunately today, an owner of a Doberman Pincher & another dog came and right out of the car aggressive to other dogs including one of mine. Then moments later as he got into an altercation where it didn't stop biting other dogs including my dog, drawing blood on my dog. We left as concern for our safety. Please keep a close eye on your own dog as well as be aware of other "friendly" dogs. If your dog has any aggression towards other people or dogs that do not live with you, please do not bring them here. This is not the place to teach your dog socialization, it's for those that are beyond that point, ready to make friends. Of course it's a public space, so what you want, but please be considerate for your dogs safety and the safety of others. The ultimate playground for man's best friend. I recently adopted a puppy, after my much beloved pooch of 13 yrs passed.. He is about the happiest, laid back pup I've ever seen. He loves, I mean LOVES to play. Luckily I live less than 2 miles from this incredible dog park. In the past few months he has made so many doggie-BFFs while playing at this park, I've lost count. The dog park is located in the 31 acre Harford Park. The area for dogs (off leash) is about 5+ acres and includes a stream that dogs are allowed to splash in and a dog-friendly drinking fountain. On any given evening or throughout the weekends a steady stream of social, well-behaved dogs arrive, run free and play; chasing balls, sticks or one-another while their human counterparts chit-chat (mostly about dogs). This park must be as close to paradise, for a dog, as is possible. But alas, not all dogs are made for a dog park, and the people here will kindly ask you to remove an ill-behaved dog should they deem it necessary. Luckily, those instances are fairly rare. The people who bring their dogs here are savvy dog folk who know even the best dog "has its days." My recently "passed" dog wasn't social enough for this park-so we only went when we knew the park would be fairly empty and kept her leashed. She still enjoyed it. While the park is free to all, you can support the dog park with a small $10 per year donation that goes toward droppings bags, trash collection and general upkeep of the dog-friendly features. Seems a very small price to pay if, like me, you and your dog spend a lot of time there. But no one asks for a donation nor is one required to enjoy the dog-centric vibe. In sum: Five paws up. I do like this park, but it's not the best for my beagle mix who does a lot better in a fenced in area. Been here several times and have had good interactions with other people\dogs in the park, but the fact that there is no fence is a minus for my particular pup. The good thing about it is most of the folks there are good at picking up after their pooch, and the field is pretty big so I don't find myself stepping in turds here, like I do in smaller fenced in areas. If your dog listens and will come back, this is a great place to take your pup offleash! read more

Perks: space, water, bags available and responsible owners who keep an eye on their dog It is quite large so be prepared to chase your dog around a bit. This is a fine dog park, but I don't really recommend it unless you're in the area. It's little more than a huge green expanse that has other dogs around. Space doesn't make a dog park excellent, but it was nice to have a lot of room for my dog to run around. If I lived closer, I might be a regular here. Still, I've found better dog park in the city, and if you have a field close and can meet a few other dogs there, it's probably a better bet. Nothing is fenced off, so it's not a good place if you don't have good recall of your dog. It is away from the road though. Also, watch out for the "enforcers" of the park. Usually I don't have a problem with this, but I really hate being told how to manage, own, handle my dog, especially when he's acting fine and hasn't been near your dog at all. read more

This is a beautiful enormous park along a hill side complete with benches, a dog water fountain, and a shallow stream for dogs to take a dip. Just some caveats: 1. Don't forget a towel in case your dog swims in the stream. 2. I've pulled ticks off my dog when I've been there, so make sure your dog has tick prevention and keep a keen eye on their fur and yourself. 3. Make sure your dog can come when called. The park is huge and although the main road is not close by, there isn't a fence to contain a loose dog. 4. Watch your step! Probably due to its size, some lazy owners don't like to walk across the park to pick up after their dog. read more

Love this place. It is huge, has a creek and always a bunch of friendly dogs and people. They provide poop bags and trash cans, water bowls and water fountains (turned off once temps drop). There are benches and tables as well. Have always had great experiences here. There are def regulars that all know each other and are very welcoming to newbies and those that can't get there as often. If you're new to dog parks and nervous, this is the place for you. Since it is so big, you can easily be away from other dogs to walk your dog around to introduce it to the smells and such. Please note there are no fences, but dogs always stay in the boundaries. I've seen huskies there that don't even bolt. Our last male lab even stayed with no problem (surprisingly). Treat your dog and take it to Harford. read more

Great for a 30+ acre off leash run for your pooch. Water fountains are great on warmer days and the creek is nice for a shallow dip for the dogs. One major con that can't be helped is that after a significant amount of rain or snow the field is super muddy, so don't go after a storm if you're not a fan of mud in the back seat or luggage area of your SUV. Must agree with Brian. This park is great for pooches. There are usually quite a few dogs and their owners there every time we go. It is a wide open space with plenty of pooper scoopers and the doggie water fountain is great too. It seems to me that most of the dog owners take great pride in their pets and the ground are kept impeccably clean. It is also a great place to walk/hike as there is a worn path in the grass with some good hills to get your heart rate up. This is a great"dog friendly park" it can't be called a dog park cause then other rules would kick in fence leashes regulations etc... It's a dog park! That has its positives and negatives. If you're used to the fence and placing your dogs on a leash than you can still do that but make sure you don't have food on you as dogs love treats :) If your best friend is not friendly than you might want to reconsider taking them there. If your best friend is social than its a good place for them but do your due diligence in assessing other dogs there as well as their perspective owners. One of the nicest, largest parks I've been to, and my new favorite in the area. We often go to Pastorius Park (not officially a dog park), have been to the downtown Schuykill one by the river (meh, good for downtown standards), and for some reason we had never been here--and now we've found our new fave! Heads up: someone there told me today that there is fenced-in dog park opening up in Conshohocken. But, I like that this place is not fenced in, the dogs are not segregated into big and small, and that there is plenty of space. There are lots of dogs of all sizes. It is a bit of a giant slope, but it's also pretty grassy for a dog park. Everyone (dogs and people) was very friendly, and it appears well maintained. Didn't have to pay (yay), but would gladly donate to keep it up! read more

It's huge, plenty of space for my 8 month pup to run around and she's already made a group of friends. I just love brining by dog to this park! We go 1-2 times a week and have made doggy friends with so many fur babies. This place has really helped socialize my dog since he was just a pup. I really think that this park is the reason he's so great with all other dogs and has never had a problem. It is a little scary how it's not fenced in, the only down fall. As long as there's other dogs there to play with though, they mostly stay in a pack. 5:30pm or so can get a little crazy there with so many dogs but the space is so huge it's not over crowded. I took my dog here for the first time recently and thought it was a really great park. It's not fenced in, but it's pretty far off the road so unless your dog takes off without warning you shouldn't have an issue. I wasn't concerned knowing that if other dogs were around mine wouldn't go anywhere! People that I encountered were all pleasant enough ( I was concerned people might be uppity in this particular area but I was wrong). This was the first time my ( 80 lb ) dog was in a park with a bunch of both small and large dogs, but they all seemed to get along really well and all the owners had one eye on their dog at all times to keep them in check. I will definitely return here as my dog left looking very happy and proceeded to sleep the rest of the day away lol! read more

Best dog park we've been to thus far. Plenty of space, lots of trees and grass (mud in some areas if it has rained recently), a creek, a dog water fountain, and no fences. You can basically let your dog run wild without worrying about them getting run over by a car. Probably not a good place to take a tiny dog, as they could get trampled by the larger ones. Though mine is 25 lbs and holds her own. Also, you'll want to have your dog on a tick preventative. Pretty busy on the weekend, but the other dogs are generally friendly. read more

BEWARE OF THE OWNER OF GINGER. We love this park and are very thankful to Radnor township for its exsistence. Today, however, I had a terribly frightening and upsetting experience at Harford Park, a place we love to bring our two puppies to. After my dog and another small dog began playing rough, I tugged my dogs leash and began to remove her from the situation. She is 7 months and very playful and often times just won't let up. I could tell this dog was snapping at her too many times so I began to remove her. As I was doing this-- the owner of the other small dog, named Ginger, kicked my dog hard. I was so shocked and was about to react when he wound up and kicked her again underneath her stomach and she went flying into the air. I confronted this man, who has blond hair and glassess, is in his late forties or early fifties, and was with his wife who had curly red hair. They also had a german shepard that seemed to belong to them. I told him that was excessive, that he should never kick a dog in that way, and a few other things that I managed to get in through the tears at the shock that this was happening. Myself and another woman began to take our dogs away from this man. She told me that his dog, ginger, had been an agressor at the park all day. I was visibly upset for my dog, and the woman was very supportive, and like me, was trying to think what the consequence for this could be. We decided to leave but after putting my dogs in the car I confronted the man again, telling him that anyone who has the ability to kick dogs with such force and disgust should not have the right to own any animal. Ofcourse, there is no fault on the part of his dogs-- but I would still hope that anyone reading this would would protect your dog by staying away from this man, and spread the word that he is not welcome at Harford park. read more
