I was very distressed when I went to Mac's yesterday after work. So for one, I'm glad that they…read morewere open until 9 pm that day. A bolt came loose on my bicycle after I took it to the shop, so I was crabby at whatever the shop people did to loosen it, and crabby at myself for not stopping at every block to tighten it. It just so happened that the bolt decided to come off when I was almost home. I found the bolt but not the nut so I had to go in the opposite direction to get to Mac's, the closest place that could sell me one bolt and/or one nut. As soon as I walked in, a salesperson asked me if he could help me. My answer was an emphatic, "Yes." Not only did he find the right size bolt, he pointed out that the threads on my existing bolt were pretty worn down, so I decided to get a new bolt and nut. I expressed my desire for a nut that would not fall off so easy, and he found just such a magical nut. He asked me what they were for and offered to put it on my bike, for which I was extremely grateful. All in all, this kind salesperson made a stressful situation much better, and the materials only cost 98 cents. I will definitely go back to Mac's in the future and tell everyone about the great service that I received there.

While working in the woods today, I broke the bar on my chainsaw and as I had so much cutting to…read moredo, I ran 20 miles to my local town and the two Stihl dealers and both did not have them in stock and even checking the factory inventory was saying out of stock. They suggested I run 17 miles south to the Lakeland General Store as a Stihl dealer and as I had time, what the heck, I ran down. Pulled in and the parking lot was jammed with over perhaps 40 cars and pick ups. The store inside looked so neat and clean and low and behold they had the chainsaw bar in stock and I bought the two they had. So now back in business. The restaurant was attached to the store and as close to lunchtime I got a burger and fries to go and it was excellent. I have to say tops for the whole area. The restaurant was full and a mix it seemed of Lake people, locals and workers on noon break. And specials everyday and the choices today sounded most intriguing. For sure I will have to put Lakeland on my to stop place as on Hwy 59 going from Detroit Lakes to Fergus Falls. A great clean store with great inventory. The amount of daily newspapers for sale was most impressive as a lot of places do not have them. So nice to have a local store and non chain so to speak. But with…read morethe Covid pandemic, I was very concerned when I entered the store with my mask on and witnessed disregard for the state mandates. There was no sign requesting mask for customers and the workers did not have masks on. My biggest concern was there is no telephone number to report the incident to a supervisor or owner.
