He was very reasonable, showed up when he promised he would, and is quick with quotes, and communicating. The first project was leveling and securing my cement front steps. He did quality work. Then he installed cabinets and a new sink in my first and second floor kitchens. Once again excellent quality work. I scheduled additional cabinets installation, and some repairs of a door between rooms that came off track. He did electrical, plumbing, and cement work for me. All done very well and looked wonderful upon completion. Any hurdles that occurred he was able to provide a solution. I give Mohawk Valley Handyman Services the highest possible praise! You can be sure your project will be done with awesome results!

That would make it false advertising. * end of update I'm not pleased with their handling of my project. The website shows pictures of a fence install. I contacted them to set up a quote and received two text messages. First to contact them to dis uss and then today telling me they don't handle fence installs. WTH?!?! They instead referred me to someone else. I'm not pleased that this was handled this way. I doubt very much that I'll ever use them given they can't even handle normal business communication properly.

The windshield "popped" out of the gasket on my Class A motorhome, so on Monday I took my class A…read moremotorhome to the Watertown shop so the technician could look at it and/or repair it. The "popping out"is a common occurrence on the large RV's and mine was popped about 8" in length on the top center. I wanted Glass Doctor to reset the glass in the gasket. The Website says "From the back window of a hatchback to an RV windshield, Glass Doctor can replace the windshield on any vehicle." The technician was very nice, looked it over and with a gasket tool was able to work it back in place but he said to do it right they would need to remove the glass, re-glue the gasket and then reinstall the glass. I told him that would be fine and asked when can he do it. He said we could go in and talk to the girl in the office as he would have to get another guy up here as it would be a two man job. We went in the office and he explained to her what needed to be done and she said we'll have to get someone up here from Syracuse to help and she would have to call down to Syracuse to get a price on the job from some lady that was The Boss, and than she would call me later that day to set up the appointment as she knew we are leaving in a few weeks on a 7 month trip. I heard nothing Tuesday or Wednesday. Now imagine my astonishment on mid day Thursday when I got a call from the girl in the office who told me they're sorry but the technician has now decided that he cannot do the job of just resetting the windshield glass. So now we are leaving in 3 weeks and this glass shop has wasted a week deciding yay or nay. Initially they were ready to "replace" the windshield, but now are not able to simply reset it!! I hired Burke Carson of Carson Design & Remodeling, in April 2015 to replace the glass in my sun…read moreroom roof. I asked him what a new sun room would cost and he said approximately $30,000. I laughed and said I'd rather replace the roof. The glass needed to be dug out of the frame and necessitated hard work to perform. Partially into the work, he told my wife that if he knew how hard this would be, he would not have taken the job. After paying him $7856 I thought he was the expert, but I didn't know what to expect after this comment. I overlooked several disagreements we had: * He replaced the gutter at the end of the roof and then wanted to cut another hole in my deck to move the drainpipe to meet the new gutter, but I argued over several days that he must get a curved connector to connect the gutter to the downspout. Ultimately he obtained a connector and made the connection correctly. * He broke glass from the old panes on my backyard and I needed to argue over several days that he should bring a vacuum to clean up the glass. Ultimately he brought a vacuum and did it correctly. * When I would ask him for an update on what he planned to do each time he arrived, his answer most of the time was, "you'll see when it is finished." * During the work, I questioned the integrity of some of his connections and seals, and he assured me that he knew what he was doing and that is the way it should be done. After the job was finished, there was some rain water leakage and Burke did return to reseal areas of the sunroof. Only, it was those areas of the roof that I had questioned that he sealed and concentrated on. It appeared that those areas of the roof lacked integrity and he needed to reseal those areas again. In the final interaction I had with Burke concerning slight dampness inside the sunroof when it rained, he said he felt he did not know what else to do, but he'd put a cap on the top of the runners between the panes of glass. When I told him that I saw some openings where water can leak in and I started to caulk some of those areas and I'd show him where I believe he should be sealing, he said he signed off on the job since I was working on it, and he didn't get back to me. I overlooked previous disagreements but by not honoring his warranty, I felt that he went too far and as a result I am publishing my review online. His warranty said Carson warrants against leakage in the roof glass. It didn't say he warrants against leakage only if someone else never touched the roof. It wasn't until 8 days later that I received an email from him saying that he would come back to continue the sealing dependent on what caulking he finds, and told me that I just want to whine about spending $8000 and that he should never have extended a 5 year warranty against leakage in the roof glass area. I have recalled the events as they happened during my hiring of Burke Carson. I found working with Burke Carson to be very difficult. Mel Solomon Ithaca, NY

During process of meeting with contractors, so many characters gave us estimates that were either scarily low, or inflated. Mike and Jay' s rate was fair, and their work is second to none. They were reliable, honored their word, and never cut corners on build quality. Since our house was originally built in the late 40s, they came across some structural issues that really concerned us.. Mike and Jay were understanding to our dilemma and were able to "shore-up" load bearing walls while being always fair with their rate. It was a huge stress relief to know they were on the job and staying within their estimate. Even long AFTER they finished, I had an issue with one of smoke detectors they installed and the same day, they went to home depot and exchanged it for a new one. It's rare to find high quality, great service and fair price in one company, but Fleming Construction nails it. Our home addition was expertly built and we'd highly recommend Mike Fleming Construction!
