Worst contractor EVER! If you use these guys, don't pay them until the job is completely finished…read moreto your satisfaction. Mike appeared to do a decent job at a neighbor's house, so we hired him to replace a 30x70 roof on a rental property we own, and to install vinyl siding on 6 identical roof dormers. Told him we weren't in a hurry, not to start until he could personally be on site throughout, and that we needed him to stick with the job and finish it once it was started. First, Mike subbed the tear off to Jason without our knowledge, and who wasn't even on site when we arrived. Jason neglected to tarp the roof overnight and of course it rained, damaging a bedroom ceiling. He also didn't clean up the site and we picked up well over 100 nails in our tenant's driveway. The roofing appears to be ok, but the dormers are a mess. Vinyl siding was cut at 90 degrees, instead of at an angle where it meets the roof, and one dormer remained unfinished. Mike cried that he underbid the job and we agreed to an additional payment when the job was completed. Instead he walked away while repeatedly promising to show up and finish the job. 2 months later we finally hired another contractor to complete the siding and to remove the 2 roof jacks Mike's guys left on the roof (a huge safety concern!) We spent hours cleaning up cigarette butts, nails, roofing and siding scraps throughout the landscaping. "You name it, we do it" NOT!

I had CNY Construction come and build a composite deck. I had a wood deck that was completely torn…read moredown and rebuilt with the composite decking. When Mike and his crew of 2 finished, and left, I started to notice a few things. First of all, some of the boards were not cut the same length as the others, so a small piece of composite was used to fill in the gap. Did not notice this until they left. Next, the boards were screwed from the top (at Mike's suggestion) and placed too close together, so now I have bulging boards and standing water when it rains due to there being no proper spacing in between boards. I have contacted Mike numerous times but have not heard from them. I would not use them as a reliable company for any home improvements. There are better options.

Several years ago, we had a metal roof installed by this company as soon as it was completed, we…read moredeveloped a leak in our upstairs hall ceiling. They repaired it by putting some black material in the top cap. Now that material is creating or stain on our light gray roof, they came back and told us it was dust. We registered multiple request to the staff Kim White to have the owner Mike Majeski please come and meet with us or at least call. We never got the dignity of our response This year we are damaged due to ice buildup. It took them all summer to get the part and when it came, it was the wrong part meanwhile they had our deposit over $1000 no apology when they didn't come to install it we were not told they were coming. They just appeared. Our problem is that we are into this company for thousands of dollars for a roof and here we are still paying for our new roof.

They are all about a fast buck and they lie like hell. Over the Top was recommended by my insurance…read morecompany. Their estimator looked the job over made some suggestions, and said I would be the first or second job that season and they would start in April weather permitting. I signed a contract and sent a check for half the agreed amount. Around the 20th of June I got one days notice that they would be at my house to do the job. About 7:00 AM the next day the same estimator showed up with a crew of about 10 Hispanic people only one of which spoke a little bit of English. About 1:00 PM the Estimator/foreman took off to visit family out of state leaving the crew to finish the job. Around 5:00 PM they started putting all their equipment away and I asked about the roof on the bay windows and the soffit repair that was part of the contract. Now no one understands English. I contacted the foreman and eventually was told another crew would come and finish. That crew came probably three times each time telling everything was done but it was not. Not only didn't they do the work they said they did but they slopped gutter coating all over the new roof shingles. This dragged out until December when Over the Top wanted to bill me for the roofing only and let the other work go. I told them no way. We have a contract and I want the work done as per the contract. Then I was told they would not be coming back any more. I had to find another contractor who came the following spring to fix the poor work that was done and finish the job. That cost me an amount equal to the second half of the original contract plus another $1,000. In the meantime there were three different leaks which I, a disabled veteran in my seventies, had to fix myself in the middle of December. Then repaint three different interior walls. I am also a retired contractor and believe me these are the last people you want working on your home.
