We had a wonderful time on our short stay. The location is very central to a lot of things - you can walk a few blocks to the beach, to restaurants, and even a CVS nearby if you have an urgent need for something you forgot to bring. Let's start with the negatives this time: - the floors like others have mentioned were extremely dirty. My daughter's feet were super filthy after walking for just a few minutes. - water pressure/shower heads weren't the best - no beach towels provided in the room, we got 3 at the front office - only one elevator on our side was working the whole time, and upon departure when we're trying to bring all our stuff down, all elevators on our side stopped working - beds were overall comfortable but you can tell are getting old, you can feel and hear the springs in the sides of the bed The positives: - the front office service was SO nice, especially Teresa, she is absolutely excellent! - the balcony with view of the water park was super nice and made the little one super excited - sheets and towels were clean - water park was super fun, so much to do for young kids We loved our experience so much, but having clean floors would really have made it a ton better. read more

We booked our visit through a booking.com and should have dug a little deeper before booking. Parking was very limited and they hard sell the vacation club experience, with an average room. The globe on the ceiling fan was missing and plenty of beach sand in the carpet. We never took them up on the water park, since it was very busy and we needed special passes to use the pool at all. Nope. Nope. This place is LOUD. Parking is limited. The balconies stink of neighbors smoking weed. Units are dirty. Walk from the bathroom to the bed barefoot and your feet will be nasty black. You only get 1 pass to the waterpark per bedroom. Bring your own toilet paper... 1/2 a roll per bathroom. Not worth it. Looks great, but when you boil it down, it's just a bait and switch with the photos and locale versus reality. read more

We checked in on Wednesday evening and upon check-in we received our welcome packet . In this packet we we're supposed be informed of the $75 cleaning fee (which was not in this packet). As soon as we walked into our room - it appeared cleaned , however that was not the case . My daughter walked around the room for not even 5 minutes and her feet were covered in dirt. This was brought up to the front desk and asked if they can mop the floor and they said "yes, for a $75 cleaning fee" the other option Michelle gave us, with and attitude , was "we can supply you with the cleaning supply and you can do it yourself" For the amount of money we spent , they should have fixed the problem . We were looking forward to our week at Harbourside Indian Rock Beach. The resort looked amazing from the pictures and write up on their website. We paid over $1,000.00 for a seven night stay via the Armed Forces Vacation Club. The issues with this 2 bedroom unit started at check in. After doing the check in paper work, we were issued 3 plastic keys and a laminated parking pass with the warning, failure to return the pass will cost you $50. Why not just take the make, model and license plate number of the car like every other lodging establishment in the world? We were also advised that due to COVID there is no housekeeping services except if you want them, it will cost $75.00 per visit. We were then told to slide over to the next window at the counter to meet the Consigliere. She gave as the perfunctory review of resort map and the convoluted rules for the use of the pool and water park which is shared with the massive Holiday Inn resort on the opposite side. She spoke very fast and then asked for $210.00 for resort fee. What does the fee get you? Limited hours at the pool, miniature cans of soda and month old snack bars. This fee is a total rip off. It should have been waived or refunded as there is basically no value for it. Our Room was on the 4th floor, good elevators but no luggage carts available. They did have 2 carts, somewhere. Mind you, the check in office is across the street, not in the same building as the rooms. We were issued 3 plastic keys, but only 1 worked to get us in. On entering the suite we found old dried grounds in the coffee pot, dollar store Teflon pans that were cruddy and the stove chrome splash guards were rusted. There are no drapes on the windows and very limited decor. The sofa cushions are flat, same with the single chair. Not appealing in any way, no cushioning, no comfort at all. Not inviting to sit and relax. Yucky. You cannot make the bedrooms dark at night. The first attempt at a shower, no hot water. To go to the pool, you must first go to the office to get a pass, then go to a single entry point to get a wrist band to enter. Not a way to treat a resident, especially a senior citizen. Doors wouldn't open (electronic lock). The next day the entire lock assembly was replaced. Young man that does maintenance was very courteous. Had him check the shower and water was hot. Building usage rate had a bearing on frequency of hot water. Took pictures of stove and pans to front desk and registered my displeasure with them, the stove and dirty coffee pot. I was told housekeeping would be sent to rectify it. They never showed. Ever. They have a text message number to report problems. It never worked. This was one of those places where you were ready for a Dream week in Paradise and it turned into a overpriced, unappealing dump that only looked good from the balcony, overlooking the Splash Park, once the screaming kids went home. If the want to do the right thing, they would insist the owned rectify the issues with this condo and they should refund the $210.00 resort fee due to the fact that the only benefit of it is 8oz cans of soda and high calorie trail mix bars. Can I give Zero stars? We had a get away weekend planned along with the Arcadia membership tour (travel company). Got to the hotel and the check in desk, which is across the street from the property, was closed. I check with the IHG property next door and was told that Harbourside has a mailbox that it puts keys and papers for those checking in late. We went back to the closed office and the mailbox was empty. Tried to find a security guard that might be able to help. Looked on all the floors and no security guard to be found. So we had to drive over an hour back to Bradenton FL where we live. Weekend trashed. We elected not to drive the hour back today. Horrific experience. read more

I know Covid has hit businesses hard and I really don't like to post negative reviews, but the advertising for this place is so deceptive it needs to be said. Very disappointed with the quality of this property. If I were paying half the price it would be somewhat acceptable, but we're being charged like it's a five star resort. ($344 per night). This is not a resort, it's a dump. Carpet is disgusting, super stained and feels wet. TV doesn't work. Where is this fabulous "view" they advertise? All I see is concrete and foot traffic. Zero privacy unless shutters are closed. Bedding is cheap and feels like it. Room is well lit by street lights all night. Tough to sleep if you have light coming through the plantation shutters. Not well cleaned, walls, fans, furniture, lamp shades all look bad. Newer white kitchen and bathroom cabinetry is a stark contrast to the chipped, stained an faded old brown furniture. Decorating is sub par at best. If you're coming to party at the water slide next door it's a great location. But this property is far overpriced and certainly not offering the value they perceive and advertise. My opinion of the Holiday Inn brand has definately diminished. There is much more to be said about this hotel but when I woke up with bedbugs (see pictures) on me and later found out that my granddaughter's face got bit up by them (see pictures), the rest of it took a back seat. I checked in on Sunday, September 20th to a 2 bedroom unit at Harbourside. We had friends joining us on Thursday so the second bedroom was empty except for a couple of hours on Tuesday when my granddaughter took a nap in one of the beds. On Wednesday I found out that my friends could not join us after all. On Thursday I stripped the bed in the room I was using to wash the sheets and ended up taking a nap in the second bedroom. I woke up with three bedbugs on me and several more crawling around the bed and pillows. It has been more than a few days now and I still start to shake as I write this. It is very hard to think about this without it all just coming back at me. My husband immediately called downstairs while I took a hot shower. Tyler from maintenance came up after more than 20 minutes and first tried to tell me it was fleas but when I called BS and told him I had taken pictures of the bedbugs, he stopped talking and offered to put me in another room. We packed all our stuff up in plastic trash bags and went home. Later on that day, while telling my daughter what happened to me, I found out that my granddaughter had welts all over her face. My daughter had no idea what was wrong with her until I called and we realized she had napped in the bed 2 days previously. It took several days for the bites to be visible on me and they didn't look as bad as my granddaughter's face, but, holy cow, they were itchy. When the bites finally could be seen, the itch became less intense. I was very lucky that I did not bring these home. I live only a few miles from this hotel and I was able to pack everything in plastic bags and then leave it all in a hot car in the sun for several days. When I emptied the car, I did it at the laundromat. Everything went in the washer and dryer. I lost a couple of things but I didn't care. I have to warn other mothers and grandmothers about the bedbug problem at Harborside. If I had been warned, I never would have stayed and I never would have put my granddaughter through the trauma of having her face bit up as she slept. read more

Great location with a cool looking swim park. However, the first room we got had hairs on the bed. Not to mention the sheets were wrinkled. I suspect the cleaning staff just made the bed from the last guests and didn't change the sheets. Not to mention, there was mold on the shower curtain and the toilet seat was falling off. After I let the desk know, they quickly moved me to another room. By the way, these are tiny rooms and very dated. Definitely was not a clean smelling room. This one had mold on the wall from where the towel hook is located. They also only supplied a half a roll of toilet paper for a two-day stay. The employees were nice enough, but their business plan needs changing. They need attention to detail when it comes to cleanliness. Unfortunately, we'll never go back to this hotel. But Indian rocks Beach is pretty cool. Also, the door had black marks all over it and the door handle was the subtrusive piece of metal that stuck straight out and looked dangerous. read more

For starters there were NO blankets in the room, only one sheet on bed and bedspread. When we requested blankets we got more bedspreads. Could not get hot water to room, maintenance came and informed us we had to run water in kitchen sink and in bathroom sink for 10 minutes in order to get hot water to shower EVERY time we shower. The AC/heat is linked to unit to next door. We were asked several times to lower our thermostat so they could be more comfortable. "Stocked" kitchen had one small skillet and pot along with a set of dishes. TV provided no local live channels and if you want to want any other channels you must buy . We were able to use our Netflix account but it would have been nice to watch the news in the evening. I did wash the paper thin sheets only to discover a stained mattress...GROSS! Of course no mattress covers are available. The windows don't open so we can no fresh air into the bedroom... kinda why we are here... fresh air. All this for $2000.00 a week. We were assigned a personnel concierge but once we checked in and bowed out of her 90 minute spiel to try and sell us a rental week I haven't heard from her since. This is not my husband and my first rodeo. We are retired and seasoned travelers. This is the first time I feel really ripped off. So disappointed as we love this area of Indian rocks beach. read more

OK Super cool place to stay kids loved it great distance to walk to the beach ice cream shop restaurants and a restaurant across the way plays a live band great food. Awesome awesome!!!!! The only thing is the front desk is horrible at communicating!!!!We had spoke earlier in the week about a late check out a late check out his noon time I'm a single mother traveling with 5 children!!! On check out day they decided to text me about the parking pass at nine in the morning no problem I said I would return it once were done swimming and our flight did not leave till 7 o'clock that night. Well at 11:24 Miss Michelle decided to call me and tell me I needed to be out of the room in six minutes with four children and I luggage to go back to LAX and pack it up she didn't wanna tell me at nine in the morning because she wanted to charge me an out rages fee how much do you think the late check out fee is for 30 minutes??!!! Any guesses well the amount is $194.50!!! Omg right??!! So I tell her go ahead if you feel really good about yourself charge me a single mother with five children with a six minute notice to get out of the room by 1130 but I will be out at 12 as we discussed earlier but she must've been so not with it this week because she claims we never agreed on that and it was a verbal I should've got it in writing my fault my bad!!!! So mind you I get out of the room by 12 o'clock I take a video of the room and I would like to attach that as well so you can see the date time stamped as when I was out of the room!! And I only did this video because I felt like something was going to happen in the future in regarding to this room so I did the video to cover myself!!!! So meantime we go down and finish swimming for the day we decide to leave about 3 PM and I drove up to the office and returned a blue Harborside bag they had given me with towels in it earlier with the parking pass that they had text me about earlier in the day and I will also attach those messages if this app allows me to!!! So I return the towels and the parking pass go about my day travel back to LA I'm going over my bank statement in this hotel has now charge me $50 extra for a parking pass that I returned plus the five towels and also a fee of $194.50 and they're lying and claiming I stayed in the room past 1230 well I have a video of me out of the room at about 1205 Florida time so I called to resolve the matter and Michelle ended up yelling at me near the customer on the phone will not let me speak to her supervisor refuses to give me the supervisors name and phone number claiming she only has an email so this was a great place to stay but the CUSTOMER SERVICE REP MICHELLE SUCKS AT HER JOB AND SHOULD GET A NEW ONE BECAUSE SHE IS A LIAR!!!!!!! Also Michelle ended up hanging up on me because she didn't wanna hear the truth of how bad she sucks at her job and that she's a liar so I am now calling my bank and letting them know that they have committed fraud on my Bank of America account so please beware of Michelle and her lies get things in writing if you want to stay here!!!! For some reason my video will not upload so I have Screenshot the video for date and time proof when I was leaving the room so just to let you know if you stay at this resort make sure if you deal with Michelle she is a supervisor with this horrible attitude that lies make sure you get it in writing because they want to charge you an extra $300 on your way out the door after you have a great time they try to ruin it but it's OK she's not gonna ruin my day does the bank is going to reverse the charges and they lose for doing fraudulent activity on my card for Charges that were not authorized by me that is called fraud and lying about it is even worse than she's the manager I can go on and on about this but I don't have any more time to spend or waste on Michelle the horrible customer service manager at the new Harborside at the Indian Beach Florida!!!!! read more

Do not stay here. We stayed during the Thanksgiving holiday and I understand that things are hectic. Check-in is at 4pm and we were not given a room until 5pm due to it being a "full house". Front desk manager who never even looked at me refunded us one night resort fee, which totaled $30 (wow...). Finally got to our room and aside from the clean linens it was absolutely garbage. There are no curtains on the windows, so you get all the street lights and lights from the hotel pouring into your room. Thank god we didn't stay during the summer because our thermostat was broken. There was no hot water when I went to give my one year old a bath, and again later when my husband went to take a shower. There looks to be mold in the bathroom that they seem to have just painted over, and mold on the ceiling. The tub was not cleaned and had someone else's hair in it. The carpet is all torn up and frayed in front of the bathroom. The toilet paper provided is thinner than the stuff I had in the military. Also, make sure you take your trash out because if you don't they'll charge you $75. I have never stayed at a "hotel" that I had to take my own trash out. For $183 a night this place was terrible. I'll never come back here and I'll be letting all our family and friends know that this "hotel" is trash. Do not stay here. read more

I will start with the 2 room apartment was nice and mostly clean. Thats where the positive review ends. Firstly, there are no cleaning supplies (dish soap,laundry soap, dishwasher soap,etc). We had to go to the office everyday for our rations (including toilet paper). No extra blankets were provided. One blow dryer for both bedrooms. All 4 beds were hard and lumpy with a mattress protector that crinkled everytime you moved. The dishes were put away with food/residue still on them. Probably because they will not provide dish soap, sponges, or scrub brushes. We spent a good amount of time doing laundry in the small appliances that accommodated around 4 towels a load. There were about 4 sets of silverware for 10 people to share, really not feasible. The small pans were incredibly difficult to cook for more than 3 people. The pool is only open if you pay or have less than 4 people in your group (or if its after 6pm). That was ridiculous, its advertised as accommodating 10 people, we had 9. Spent a ton of money (13$/day for each person) just to go to a amenity which should be available for guests. Also, there are no discounts for people who can't use the slides or if you go an hour before closing. Then, the pool was extremely crowded. Just not worth it. We had a balcony with a pool view and a guest above us peed off of their balcony which landed on ours, splashing on my mother. We called security who pretty much asked us to prove it. We called the police who did come fast and issued a warning. not really the hotels fault but they did nothing to offer sympathy. Didn't even offer to move us to another room or evict the other guests. On day 2 the elevator closest to our room broke. We spent the next 3 days waiting over 10 minutes for a elavator further away since it was trying to accommodate an entire building. Would have liked to see the elevator repaired quicker, still not sure it is. So overall, I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone else. Also the beach is not 750ft as advertised. After 10pm is when it begins. Yelling, screaming, partying. Loud motorcycles and vehicles. After making several calls to the desk nothing was done. After midnight I finally had to call authorities. If I could give less than a one I would due to extraordinary hygiene violations even if it was not COVID days which their site claims to be paying extra attention to details for...this was THE worst experience I have ever had at any resort/hotel that I have ever personally experienced. I came as the quarantine lifted to have some R&R. They have a limited check in timing so I stayed in a great and clean hotel which I went back to after the horrifying standards at this location. First, I was charged an additional "resort fee" past the charges I had already committed to. All this is interesting as the resort facilities were not open. I asked what they covered and I was told that I could ask for shampoo and other toiletries along with the basic pool which had opened the day before. Their acclaimed slide activity pool was still ordered closed by the state regulators the day before. I went to the room which was very sub-standard and no where near what they had offered me at registration. I asked for another room and was basically told that as a time share owner with RCI that they could not move me to a better room because I had not booked with them directly. All this of course is with them wanting you to tour to love their place so much that you will buy into it. They waived the resort fee so I said ok. Let's just get through this week, they are trying. Last, after blowing all that off, I went back to my room to get settled. I go to toss some trash in the waste paper cans to discover left over food and trash in the bedroom area...did a quick look over to see if the room had been changed to discover trash in the bathroom can as well. It appeared to be toilet tissue with blood on it. Well, that was enough for me. I was horrified, disgusted and wondered how this place even stays open? I stormed down to the registration as they were due to change- I had a mask on. No one in the office was wearing one...should have been a clue to me that this place did not hold any standard that was acceptable. I certainly raised my voice as the negligence was beyond acceptable. No apology offered, no let's go look at this and this is so not normal etc etc...I was on hold with RCI while I was dealing with the "I cannot stay in this room" convo. Some male employee came and proceeded to tell me that I was "screaming at employees" and asked me to leave. At first I said no and explained that I was on the phone on hold and that the reception was bad along with waiting to see the resolution of my complaint. He then said he was calling the police...I said I should be doing that and reporting the health/hygiene violation. He made it clear he wanted me to leave..so I just said yes and hoped that I would not lose reception to the phone call I was on hold for to deal with this. Certainly, that is one way to deflect blame to a customer instead of dealing with the issue at hand that this place is adding on fees and not providing a clean and safe dwelling.
