Full of discount shops - what's not to love! I've usually been pretty lucky here, being able to pick up a bargain if I feel like a bit of 'pick me up' shopping. My mum and sister are both much taller than me, with long limbs and have found it more difficult to find items they like in their size. With the more recent addition of NoniB though, mum is much happier! There are a good mix of shops as well as options to eat or grab a drink. My favourite is Cherry Blossom sushi for a quick energy hit. All that shopping can require some refuelling. There are gift vouchers available and although nearly all the shops partake in the Harbour Town gift voucher system, there are a few where they aren't valid. There is a list available at the office, which could be worth checking if buying a gift voucher for someone who loves one particular store. My favourite store, Art to Art is there, closely followed by Novo Shoes that has some awesome shoe bargains regularly. A kind of weird tip I'd like to share is about walking along near the playground in the middle. I've been walking along window shopping, to only nearly twist my ankle and fall over. The playground area spreads out into the walk area and is totally soft and spongey! High heels sink in and the ground becomes inconsistent and difficult to walk on. Probably fine if wearing flats, but a bit disconcerting if not dangerous, if not! read more

If you want something cheap outside of the major chains, it's a great place to save, but unless you are local, I wouldn't spend extra money on petrol to come down here. Harbour Town has over 120 outlets and 70 specialty stores, and boasts as having the biggest Woolworths store in South Australia. I've spent some time browsing throughout most of these stores, but very rarely find anything I like. However, It's great for the outdoor shopping experience, without those fucking annoying preachers. read more

Harbour Town Adelaide - Shopping Centers Near Me - Adelaide, SA

Harbour Town is not the place to go if you want a day of relaxed fashion shopping and lunch with the girls. A group of us met up for a fun day and after spending over $800 between us in the shops we returned to our cars in the 'Free Car Park' to find notices advising us to each pay $44 because we had spent too long shopping. If we didn't pay online at a website within 14 days we would have to pay $88. That came to $440 between us. We will be spreading the word on Facebook and Twitter to give Harbour Town a big miss. read more

A really pleasant shopping experience - outdoors and lovely on a sunny day and a great range of shops with some bargains if you do some hunting. Get here early in the morning to get a park. It gets busy later in the day! One of the best Woolworth's I've seen - both in Sydney and Adelaide. This place is HUGE! It has everything you would think a Woolworth's would have, and a lot more besides. Combined with Harbourtown Outlet Mall outside, this is the best place to shop in Adelaide in my opinion - other than The Central Market. If you're coming to Harbour Town just to go to Rivers, they've now moved to the opposite end of the centre, so park at the Glenelg end and you'll be a lot closer to the new store. read more

Harbour Town effectively replaced the Glen Osmond Rd Shopping stretch when it came to outlet stores and with this in mind, Harbour Town as a shopping experience isn't much of an improvement. With the current economic climate so many stores offer sales all year round on current season stock and outlet stores do appear to be suffering as who would buy last seasons unsold stock for the same price as this seasons? Harbour Town's highlight are the outlet stores which don't have much of a presence in Adelaide such as Levis, Tony Bianco and Converse but these stores are limited and the shopping centre is populated by the same brands you find everywhere. Outlet stores suffer from having the stock which no one else wanted or items which don't fit most normally proportioned people. My advice: come to Harbour Town to get your jeans and maybe check out the high end stores (like Cue or Victoria Station) to get some good quality items which are still expensive but not as much as they once were. read more

The problem with an outdoor shopping center is that your options can be severely limited - you don't wanna shop when it's cold or rainy and forget getting anything done on a stinking hot day - this is where the indoor centers triumph! At the same time, this is one of Harbour Towns major failings... There are however some good points; individually there are some great stores - I'm not a huge Woolies fan, but the woolies here certainly wins me over. I also love the General Trader, Jag and Esprit - I've managed to snag many a bargain here before. On a less than impressive note, many of the stores tend to be messy and full of...crap. Typo is one in particular - it's always strewn with rubbish and crowded with people (that said, I always manage to snag some cheap greeting cards here...) It sells itself on being a discount mecca although I'm not sure that all the new stores have signed up to this arrangement - many seem to provide regular pricing on regular products however for the keen customer there is always a bargain to be found. As a shopping experience, I choose Harbour Town mainly for its convenient location for me, not so much for what it can offer me - ya see, for me shopping is all about enjoying a WHOLE experience - which includes food and atmosphere. All the food outlets here are pretty generic - franchisee kinda places with nothing unique to offer. I'd rather shop in a place where I can wander down a side street and find an amazing hidden food gem - but that's not what Harbour Town is about. I should probably just move on and accept that. Come for the bargains but leave before lunch or extreme weather change. read more

Great bargains. There's a good selection of stores and brands, and the food options are not too shabby. Of course, June is the best time to shop, with all the end-of-financial-year sales on. I especially like the fact that even though this is an outdoor mall, the entire facility is smoke-free. read more

I'd almost prefer to hang out at the Adelaide airport than Harbour town., at least there are people there! I hear everyone revelling in their Harbour Town shopping experiences and so my expectations were pretty damn high when I went to check it out the first time. It's all about factory direct retail and so there I was expecting to pick up a bargain. In reality I spent the money I had saved in petrol just getting there! great I guess if you live in that area of town, but for hillbillies like me, I have to protest. There are quite a lot of stores, I'll admit. but I get suspicious when I walk into a shopping centre in the school holidays and it's like a ghost town. I don't believe it was all that much cheaper, especially in the shoe department. Yeah, definitely don't go to Harbour town for a shoe sale. I did give it another try, but alas, I was just as bitter about my shopping experience these second time as the first, if not more so! read more

I wouldn't call Harbour Town an outlet mall at all. Most stores in there are just regular stores. There are a few outlet stores, but in general they are stocked up with the rejected stock from non-outlet stores. For example, the Cotton-On only really has clothing to cater for men 110kgs+. I remember when I was a smoker I hated coming here because even though the whole area is outdoors and very open, there is no smoking. All in all I see no real difference between Harbour Town and Rundle Mall, except Rundle has more options. I see no need to drive out beyond the airport. read more

Harbour town is Located right next to the airport, there is a large parking area, as well as bus stops. Harbour town is a great place to shop for discounted items. Has lots of shops there as well as a supermarket (Woolworths) and has a few cafes in the middle. Also has a little Children's areas. Reasonable prices. It is also open public holidays but can get busy, especially parking. It is not a covered shopping area. read more

If I had done this review a couple of years ago, it would only be a 2 or 3 ... but coming here lately to visit the art supplies shop (Art To Art), I have decided that the range of shops here appeals to a much wider audience than it used to ;) Now I'm not into fashion discount stores (I buy clothes online), so this place never used to interest me. The car park is massive, but still tends to be packed. But many different sorts of shops have appeared since the expansion - as well as art supplies, there are stationery stores (hello Typo and Smiggle!), quite a few cafes, and some 'regular' stores such as a discount chemist and supermarket. Yes, it is still crazy-busy on weekends, so it's a good idea to get here early to avoid the crush. read more

So two sides to the same coin. Working here is nothing short of hell, it is hot, smelly, messy and people perpetually back in to your car. NOW I DON'T WORK HERE OH MY GOD GUYS BARGAINS BARGAINS BARGAINS. So if you can deal with mess and seconds, if you're a weird size or you're just like a junkie in need of that sweet sweet 'new outfit' hit this place is the shiz. I love spending a day trawling through and coming out alive with a cheap pair of heels and a dress in an embarrassingly garrish pattern. Boyfriend friendly cafes though a little pricey (pfft you'll make it back on all the sweet savings) you can dump them at, really great to have a place you can be guaranteed to find a last minute outfit. I have a warm regard/coldly dispassionate relationship with H Town. Sprawling where it does on Tapleys Hill Road, it means a special trip down so if I end up leaving empty-handed, I fume for each and every one of the 29 kilometres back home. Fortunately, it hasn't happened for a while. When I do score some bargains, it always seems to be from the cheap shops I hit up on the regular anyway; Cotton On, TEMT, Valleygirl etc. The "bigger" brands just don't seem that discounted, or it's ugmo stuff nobody wants, or it's only available in either XS or XXL. Shops are often slightly shambolic with stock littering the floor or stacked in towering boxes, hence our other nickname for the place, H Bomb. Staff can sometimes be a little funny out here, like they've misbehaved and been sent out from the normal stores to do penance in the discount outlet. I'd like to see more brands here that actively participate in the factory outlet pricing scheme rather than setting up as another retail outlet. I will usually defend Adelaide and all its offerings with my last breath but in terms of discount retail, it unfortunately doesn't quite stack up to the calibre of the Eastern states. Don't get me started on the US ones. Excuse me while I check the exchange rate . . . The open air concept works well on the days when the weather is cooperative. However, the howling wind usually puts in an appearance and rain can literally put a dampener on the whole experience. I'd also like to see some nicer refreshment options that are well under cover. A view of the planes is entertaining for kids and there is also a playground on offer as well as decent baby facilities. In summary, it is what it is and today it was great because I got cute stuff for cheap. read more

This is a great place to shop. Mostly factory direct outlets and clearance stores - so CHEAP!!!! But cheap for great stuff still it may just be end of season or end of line. Still brand names brand new. I go here often to visit the Nike shop and buy the family sneakers. There are all sorts of shops here though. Some great clothes shops for kids, men and women. Also some great clearance shops for towels and bedding. this is one of those places you can go to when you are looking for something , but don't know what. Or when you are looking for something specific you cannot find anywhere else. I recently wanted to buy a pasta machine and apart from one for about $150 at Myer I could not find any at the time. So I went here and found about 3 different ones in different shops. In fact, I have bought some of the coolest homewares ideas ever invented from this place. They are open pretty much all the time it seems - well every day, even most Public Holidays. Definitely worth a browse but plan a few hours at least. read more

Harbour Town is a fantastic centre to stroll around, checking out all the cheap things these stores have to offer. Most of these stores have a lot of things on special, which is always great. I love it here. There's also some good cafes in the middle where you can have a stop off point. It's not the kind of place you go if you're looking for something in particular, because they never have it. Good after xmas deals. Extremely hot (42C) but the tourist center was air conditioned and had free wifi,water and coffee. Dining was typical 'food court'. Would have been great with more diversity (eg indian). The mexican (Fiesta) quesadilla was Aussie Mex (not genuine tortilla). The location is superb as it is btwn Glenelg and West Beach was perfect setting for takeaway pizza at sunset. I may make this an annual jaunt. read more

In a nutshell Harbour Town is a brand direct shopping outlet that contains a variety of stores, all of which are located in the one premises. Constantly expanding there is definitely a lot of shopping potential with many bargains hiding away. I find shoes in particular to be among one of the best bargains found. Apart from the shopping, there is also a number of cafes and lunch areas, some of which overlook the airport. This is more than convenient if you have small children and want to keep them distracted while you finish your meal. Harbour Town is also only a short drive away from the popular Glenelg beach, which is probably why the location is so busy on weekends. In all it is a pleasant shopping experience with a pretty good atmosphere, and a family friendly environment. Outlet stores are a great invention. Especially for Europeans like myself who are suffering from the damn strong Australian Dollar. I find shopping for clothes quite difficult here because prices often seem ridiculous for what you get in the end. And I also love having a lot of shops in one place so that I don't have to spend hours and hours going from one place to another. In short, I like Harbour Town. It's cheap and consists of pretty much all the chain stores you would find in the city. It's a bit out of the way for me so I don't go very often but when I do, I can conveniently combine it with my grocery shopping because they also have a Woolworths in there. read more

The Woolies is probably the best one in the state. Huge range, although I keep getting static shocks when I touch anything. I can't comment on the women's clothing stores but the mens kinda all seem to have the same stuff. If tweed is in fashion, you've basically got 20 stores all selling tweed. Get my drift? It is clean and has security, is kid friendly, and I've finally found a place where I can have a beer while my wife shops (Coffee Club). read more

Worth checking out but not the great super discounting heaven it was promised to be - at the end of it the stores still need to make money. At the show shed I couldn't find the Rossi's I was interested in - they had some seconds which would have been great if I was size 6.5, or 8, or maybe 14. They were about $20 cheaper and that's basically the story. You can save a few dollars but won't get all the options/varieties. At Adidas I bought some runners - they weren't the ones I've been looking for, nor the colour I wanted, but the price was good, they had my size, and I convinced myself I didn't feel like looking anymore. At Connor I bought some pants I didn't need but they did fit well and their service is always good - a smile, a hello/can I help you, and then they actually do (as opposed to Gloria Jeans). At Sheridan's I found pillows way more expensive than anywhere else in Adelaide. At Industrie I thought the prices were the same as in the CBD. Basically you can find bargains but they're not everywhere, and they will probably limited in choice - if you're somewhat flexible you'll do well.
