The cashier processed my payment as credit, resulting in an additional charge of $2.96. I questioned the charge, saying again that I had presented a debit card, which should be considered the same as cash. The cashier said they processed all cards the same way and would not back down. She didn't seem to recognize the difference. It's a little thing, $2.96, but I believe the service has slipped with new management. I will not be back.

I brought a 1,400 tuxedo and shirt to Valet Cleaners in Southern Pines as we normally do. Given…read morethat a tux is not something you wear every, I did not immediately notice the damage. The coat and pants had some red chemical stains that went through the fabric and the shirt had a hole in it. As I am getting dressed for an event I noticed the damage and contacted the clearners the following day, where I was advised to bring the garments in for inspection Upon arriving at Valet cleaners, we were immediately pointed to the manager and a sign that shirks any responsibility after the garments are taken off their premises and after a certain period of time. I stated that we bring a lot of garments weekly and that I trusted them based on our satisfaction with their service. Our bi-weekly bill is around 70-120.00. At that point the lady at the counter stated that she would send the items to the manager and give me a response quickly. After two weeks have passed, I contacted them and this is when insult meets injury. They were only willing to pay a total of 300.00 for a 1400.00 outfit. They based the refund amount on the cost of cleaning X 10. Told them it was unacceptable and that I would be reporting them. They nonchalantly dismissed me. The case is now with the BBB. Be careful with your expensive garments as you are taking a gamble with this company. We have since changed to American Cleaners who so far have been great. I would stay away from these people at Valet Cleaners in Southern Pines.
