I was not treated fairly last year by 3 employees that were like a "mean girls club". Got no…read moresupport so I don't even swim much there anymore. I misd my friends there but sone of the staff were like bullies. Toxic. Not as nice as it used to be. Not supportive. Felt no one had mt back and I felt disrespected and unappreciated the more it went on. I tried to bring it up with the executive director and was told to see her in a couple weeks after I said I needed to talk to you about some things you need to know. I mostly to another pool where I feel respected, wanted and valued. I do not feel targeted by bully and unhinged staff in the pool area. Management in that department needs a "Sea Change" honestly. I have a new home pool now. Where there is a team atmosphere and very supportive. I had to work up some bravery to write this review. It is not easy when you feel like you have to speak up and question the very authority you want to respect. I loved this y. Still do. The pool rock. I got friends there. Being at that Y was a huge part of my life. But the bullying and disrespect was just to much. I left broken hearted and not able to get any supportive ear. The manager of the pool was more "concerned about protecting her employee". She said those words. Well what about volunteers and swim regulars? What about swim students? I saw sone questionable things I did not feel free to bring up on the chain of command. I will say now this place needs changes to make it a more supportive place for all. Because it is too often toxic. That is not what a Y should be. :(

The friendly volunteers went out of their way to engage everyone. There are 6 or more aquariums, and two touch tanks. They even have food available to feed the starfish with. After entering, there are interactive displays showing how to measure water health via visibility, and a place to look through a few microscopes at plankton and other organisms. Very cool! Although only open on Saturdays for 4 hours, this is a great place for HCC students to share with and educate others. It's a wonderful place for kids to learn and be excited about learning, hard to believe it's free!

I had my son in lessons there for 3 months, he had 3 different teachers and each time I was impressed. I appreciate the one-on-one time he got to with each instructor. Each lesson he worked on multiple techniques. After each set of lessons, we were given a detailed report card with info on what he needed to improve upon. Also! At the end of each set of lessons the kids get to jump off the diving board, which is super neat and definitely something they look forward to!

The football team was playing on the field while I was here, but it was really neat to see the waterfront view just there with the popularized cement stairs from the 10 Things I Hate About You movie. The high school is so rich in history on how the architectures came about, its original vision, and how it became a high school thereafter. Recommend that you read up on it online before you come by here because it is pretty interesting and not a long read at all. The high school is really beautiful outside, but I wish that we are able to enter inside like the high school in Utah where High School Musical was based would host for guests during after school hours, which are 0600 to 1500, or 6AM to 3PM. They had a scavenger hunt so you could go to all the film locations within that Utah high school, which I wish this high school could do for 10 Things I Hate About You. Nonetheless a pretty sight and the house of main characters', Kat and Bianca's, house is like a 1.6 mile drive away from here.

The water view and beautiful architecture are just amazing. We were in the stadium and the stairs killed us- these students must be in great shape! Lots of steps from street level down to the field. I went here for my CDL the instructors I had were decent, one was a hard as but fair and was blunt…read moreand straight forward, if you were messing up he straight up told you, it came off harsh but it was meant for you to understand. The had the night classes. And most of the time the classes lasted about 2-3 hours out of the 8 hours they were suppose to be, which I didn't mind. After the week of class you show up to the lot and start learning on the trucks. I will say they don't go over pre trip with you, or help you train on your inspections, you get a sheet of what the DOL examiners look for and you spend 3 days out of the 5 day week going over the sheet and memorizing it word for word all month long. You also get drive time to a certain amount on top of this and they tell you how to drive and sit in the passenger and critique you as you drive. Sometimes talk sh&$ as well. The reason I gave 3 stars is because they promised you "job placement for life" upon signing up with CDS and I have contacted them / the office multiple times and they told me call the businesses they have on their job sheet. So pretty much you go and do all the work yourself, they don't do anything for you.. Luckily my work in beverage industry got me an automatic seat in a company as a driver (No help from CDS at all), so I had the privilege of getting experience needed to drive for all the other companies. They should be taking initiative to help their new students who pay ~6600$ for a license to get their first job especially when the students literally do EVERYTHING themselves.. Study, tests, DOL tests, pre trip, In-cab, backing The only thing you CANT do is just hop in a truck and drive when you want and that's what CDS is here for to use their trucks. Most of their trucks are busted / in horrible shape, clutch sticks / shifter grinds these trucks are used by student who have never touched a manual before so the trucks take a beating, lights barely work on them.
