Place is a total 70s vibe that makes a great effort to have a cool experience for a retro motor lodge / motel. Definitely a perfect family vacation spot! Rooms are clean and modern. Pool and fire pit are great spots to hang around. Our family loved all the small details and music references throughout the hotel. Staff was very welcoming and accommodating! Location is fabulous and close to beaches and restaurants. The only issue I think people treck in a lot of dirt when going from the pool with wet feet and bathing suits, and some walk barefoot over the parking lot and with white floors you'll notice the towels get filthy easily as well as the bathroom floors. Bathroom is a bit of a tight squeeze and takes some getting used too. Would definitely stay here again when in the area

The body wash, shampoo and conditioner are amazing as well, they give off a luxurious spa like scent. The pool is way to 82 degrees at all times. The hot tub is amazing and well maintained as well. "Dirty birdie" is very decently priced and has great food and drinks. Beautiful cabanas as well as the outdoors. They offer amazing fire pits at night to make your stay even more comfortable, great place to make s'more's at night and have a few adult drinks while the kids hang out. Amazing music!! We will be back next year!

Updated room still sucks. Gross feeling…read more The mini fridge kept going to 50* so all my food went bad. We had absolutely no wifi. The bath water was pure brown for a couple hours. We booked the "beach front" 1 bed 1 sofa bed room. In the pictures online it looked like our room had a door for the bedroom for privacy. NOPE! It was 100% open and the main bed was directly in the mini kitchen area. So that meant no privacy from our kids. There's no toaster or a microwave but there's a stove that can boil water in seconds. Since there's no rugs and no small area rugs, the floor gets incredibly sandy. I would recommend bringing a broom or swiffer.

Motel 6 experience at 4-star prices. The only reason for the two stars is the view…read more This was our first visit to Cape Cod and our first stay at Blue Water. We are on day 2 of our 5-night stay and already regret our decision to book here. We booked an ocean front king bunk suite for two adults and one child. Horrible, rude service from the time we checked in. We were greeted by a crusty-looking man at the front desk who immediately asked for our credit card and if he could run it for the remaining balance of our stay, which I thought was odd since most hotels usually wait until checkout to charge your card. We were not offered help with our bags upon check in. When I asked for a luggage cart the crusty man looked confused and told us that it would "take a while" and "probably wouldn't work anyway because the rooms are so small" and basically just to do it ourselves. After we dragged all of our bags from the car to the building, we had to carry them up two flights of stairs because there were no elevators. Once inside, the room was TINY, and had a gross humid feeling. It's obvious that they just put some lipstick on what was once a dumpy roadside motel and called it a day. So far the view and beach access are the only good things about this resort. There is not enough room to fit three suitcases and two adults + one small child comfortably without tripping over each other. The floors feel dirty and sandy and not clean to walk on with bare feet. Tub is dirty and paint is chipping. Went downstairs for coffee on our first morning (there is no free coffee btw) and paid TWELVE DOLLARS for two mediocre cups of coffee. The workers seem very unfriendly and almost hostile. Reading the reviews from a few years ago vs. now sounds like two different hotels, so it definitely seems like things took a turn recently. I am not high maintenance and was not expecting it to be The Four Seasons, but at this price point I would expect at least friendly service and a few basic amenities (like free coffee/breakfast or bottled water in the rooms?) I could go on but I've wasted enough time on this place. It's 4th of July week so there's no chance of finding another hotel with availability now. Will most definitely not be returning here.

As you lie awake in the night, among the grains, your mind begins to wander. Why are all the staff golf carts armed with insecticide? Why does everything smell like chemical mold treatment? What exactly happened in the bath tub? Mesmerized by these mysteries, you'll drift off to the sound of an ominous and distant alarm emanating from an ancient ice machine. In the morning, you'll notice that your room is tilted. Sinking? Your inner ear will detect the imbalance while you stumble across the unswept floor to the bathroom. Once there, you'll face the Puzzle Lock of Agamotto, which will imprison you in that damp cell until you tickle the doorknob in jusssst the right direction. When you escape you'll be a certified locksmith. That's free of charge. Unlike the parking, which - SURPRISE! - is an extra $25 a day. On top of the $50,000 a night you have already agreed to. But that's because you sprung for the pool view room. And if you step out onto the balcony and really lean over the rail while forcing your torso due South, you can indeed view it. The beach is super nice though.

It's so convenient with kiddos to have the beach and pool within a minute walk of each other. The pool is so great for kids, as it has a walk in side, where the younger kids can sit and play. Tons of seats on the side for parents to sit as well. It gets crowded but I've never found it uncomfortable. The beach is beautiful and huge! And is so convenient and close to all the rooms. Super wide, so lots of space for everyone, and for activities like kite flying. There are also tons of chairs available for no extra cost. The rooms have been upgraded over the years and are really nice! This year we got bunkbeds which have been awesome for our kids. They are huge! And very well made. A nice upgrade from our past stays. Each room has a little outdoor space, and there are two floors; we always request the bottom floor because it's just much easier with little kids. Having a little porch is great, it's nice having a spot where you can sit and hang after a long day, have lunch, kids can play, or as a place for all your pool toys to hang dry. There's also an indoor pool and hot tub which are really great for the windier days!! It's also fun that the pools and hot tubs are open late for a late night swim. Staff are nice, but not as around as I would like. Still, facilities are really great overall! A bonus is that you can use one of the facilities of the other hotels that belong to Red Jacket, all close by. One is within walking distance and one is a five minute drive. The one next door has a great bar and take out restaurant, that has perfect beach food, like quesadillas, chicken fingers, hot dogs etc. (and can even make chocolate frozen drinks for kids!). We also really love that they have child activities through out the week. Last summer our daughter's favorite was doing crafts on the lawn and seeing a pirate show. This summer there weren't as many crafts being offered unfortunately but they still had a gaming truck that pulled up in the parking lot my son lovedddd, and they also offered mermaid hair styles. There are several activities each day offered through out the different properties. It's just a beautiful property and so worth the wait for us every summer. Though it's pretty pricey, it's very worth it!
