Actually there is one in this small, beautiful town! It's a testament to the local home folks for supporting their hometown businesses! I went in there looking for some cloth hand towels. The very kind and helpful lady in charge told me they didn't have any. That was a bit of a surprise to me because they seemed to have an abundance of everything! Not only hardware but also a huge selection of yard art and other display pieces. Like I said; this place is most definitely a throwback in time and its unusual! Even though they didn't have what I needed ; I loved the experience! I had a pallet of mortar delivered to a job site in lake lure. The driver backed into the fence causing significant damage and drive away. After calling Lowe's I was passed on to the contractor they use for deliveries to file a claim (RXO). They then passed me on to the subcontractor they use. It's been a month now and I am being ghosted by RXO (can't even leave a voicemail because their mailbox is full) and every time I call the delivery department at Lowe's someone clearly just picks up the phone and hangs it up. As icing on the cake, the pallet was soaking wet and half the bags were compromised and not usable. I have paid the $1,300 out of pocket to repair the fence and will be forced to take legal action if this does not get resolved.

I bought a high quality computer video game there for a great price. Essentially, they share many similarities with Big Lots. They appear to get much of their inventory from "buyouts", meaning they pass savings on to the customers by getting things from stores going out of business or auctions. There's a little bit of everything in the store. They have a couple grocery aisles. Home improvement, hardware, books, garden supply, clothes, floor covering (lots of rugs, laminate) and some furniture. In the back, there's a free pot of coffee for customers. The best part of this place is its good deals. Some of the deals can be exceed the 50% off mark, which makes this place a great stop for that random thing.

They had issues related to a mill being stolen but I was willing to wait because they're a small, local company. So Jared says my slab is set to be cut first week of May and he contacted me May 3rd to verify measurements and he says they're getting ready to cut it. That's the last contact Jared had with me. I recommended to my family to go to hilltop for an unrelated wood project. While they were at hilltop in early July, they asked about the status of my wood slab and were told "yeah, we couldn't do that". That was the entire explanation. I never heard from Jared. Horrible customer service and honestly would never do business with them. I'd still be waiting if family members hadn't happened to ask while they were there. Do yourself a favor and go to Asheville Hardware instead, I walked in and had my pick of over 100 slabs, got one for cheaper than hilltop quoted me and had it in my garage that same day. So hilltop took 6 months and I got no slab. Asheville Hardware, I had a slab in my truck within an hour. The owner of hilltop left me a voicemail after I contacted them. Apparently he had no idea any of the issues with my order or the customer service I received which isn't a good sign for an extremely small business.

I'm giving 2 stars because they were given the incorrect measurements and the wrong size was delivered for install. Archie quickly worked to get the correct door and installed same day. The issue was the quaily of work and the nonchalant attitude of Julie. What i will not tolerate is someone insulting my intelligence. The door is not properly aligned making it tight on one side. I'm sure all the cosmetic issues after taking the old door out and putting a new one in is not the installer responsibility but still not pleased with the install. This is what happens when you're trying to take care of things for your parents and you live 3000 miles away. This was another lesson learned at my expense.
