My wife and I were on vacation and unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate. I spent my time at Harbor Cigars for a few days while the wife shopped. The service was excellent. Two of the three employees have been with Harbor for years and one was learning. Good trainee, didn't guess it, asked a fellow employee. Very good selection of cigars. They had some my hometown shop didn't even carry. I brought some home for myself and a friend. Prices were very competitive, and carried economy sticks. Check on box discounts! The regulars at the outside lounge (covered with ceiling fans) made me feel very welcome. I got great advice on best dinner locations, and that was game changer. A "locals" hangout that also welcomes visitors with open arms. Indoor seating (but you cannot smoke indoors) as well as a small patio with tables to share. Grab a beer or cocktail from the Craft Bar next door, or a carafe of wine from the wine bar and come have a smoke. The cigar prices, like everywhere else these days, are ridiculous but they have a great and varied selection. They know quite a bit about the sticks they sell, so ask questions and they'll point you in the right direction. Very nice and courtesy staff who actually knew a thing or two about cigars! Outside seating is perfect, the locals were classy, and the liquor store next door was outstanding! Very friendly staff, good recommendations, complimentary sodas. There is wine and good food next door (they'll provide glasses for you if you bring a bottle.) Only the outdoor area was open and it was filled with friendly regulars who let us join in on their conversations and gave us food, entertainment, shopping, and cigar recommendations for the area. We bought $10-12 sticks, but there was a box of $4 clearance sticks and higher priced options too. Stop in! read more

A great first experience and on a horrible second one apparently policies vary by the day as well does the condescension. Was treated like royalty on first visit when relatively packed and with aggressive indifference as well as a change in policy on the second when practically empty. Has a nice selection of cigars and the employee seemed fairly knowledgeable of the cigars. I like the fact that you can go next door and get a growler to drink on the patio while smoking your cigar. This place felt like home, and it was very close to the Air B&B I had while staying in town. Much to my surprise, everyone was helpful unlike a few other places I visited in the area. I went in looking for something to puff on at the beach. The lovely staff asked me my price range and then proceeded to give me a tour around the humidor, picking out cigars that I might like. She was very friendly and patient with me as I know very little about cigars. I walked out with a case of tasty little cigarillos that are much more my speed. Everybody working here is friendly and helpful. Top notch Cigar store here. Many quality offerings with descent to even bargain prices. I was soooo happy they had a 4 dollar section for what might be there b rated due to their own quality inspection. They only want the best to be in presented within the walk in humidor, but to me, those 4 dollar sticks were better then anything you can get at most other cigar stores. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and are not all snobby compared to some other stores I've been too. Great place here in Destin! read more

Clientele really has a grudge against the president from 6 years ago given that that's all anyone talked about for 2 hours, but can't really fault this place for it. Unfortunately, right after greeting me with "Good morning", the tall, thin, middle aged man with a buzzed head quizzed me on my Muhammad Ali shirt, and when I didn't know his birth city he informed me "If you're going to wear the shirt you better know who he is!", and not in a joking manner. I walked in the humidor, researched the competing cigar shop, and headed there. I gave this place 2 stars because it looked clean and well stocked, but I didn't appreciate the employee's unwelcoming and patronizing attitude. I'll try them again next year. read more

"I guess Ben sent us to the right place" replied Banana Jones. They entered the cigar shop flanked by a liquor store and wine bar. They both noted what an interesting combination it was and liked how many people were enjoying drinks and cigars in the large outdoor seating area. A lean young man with longish hair approached them to offer assistance. Banana, being a cigar fan, had an idea of what she was looking for but Remy stated that he didn't partake much and would love some direction. Heartened by the fact that her new swain was not too pretentious to admit his lack of familiarity with the subject, Banana quickly agreed that a tour would be a great idea. The tobacco purveyor brought them around several large displays in a spacious walk in humidor, regaling the couple with the finer points of each choice. When he finished his tour the two made a decision based upon the excellent background provided and made their way to the checkout. The shopkeep asked how they heard about Harbor Cigars and they told him that Ben at La Dolce Vita had suggested the location. The young man asked for more descriptors and came to realize that he did indeed know Ben from La Dolce Vita. "Small town, huh?!" At this point, Banana Jones realized that she might be able to glean some helpful information from the local. "You've been really helpful and I wondered if you could help me with something else" asked Jones. "Sure thing" he replied. "I've been looking for this manatee. Goes by the name Horace. Likes to hang around Silver Dunes and Crab Island. Ever heard of him?" The cigar clerk ruefully smiles and responds "Really? Horace? Of course, I've heard of him. That joker owes me 20 fins. He hangs around the Winn Dixie instigating dance parties in the parking lot on slow party nights. If you find him, get my 20 back, will ya?" "I'll see what I can do and thanks for the info." Very nice selection, big Davidoff display. They had some goodies in stock I haven't seen in my local B&M. Ratzilla, Sobramessa, and the aforementioned Davidoff. Prices are fair.
