I sought care from this practice after clearly disclosing several limiting disabilities and communication needs. Dr. Kendra Durham stated during my initial visit that she had experience treating my condition and that she had successfully treated other patients with similar issues. Based on those assurances, I proceeded with care. Over time, it became clear that my condition was not well understood. Treatment recommendations were repeatedly inappropriate for my limitations, and weeks into care Dr. Durham acknowledged that she would need to research how to treat my condition. Reasonable accommodations required under the ADA were not consistently provided, despite repeated disclosure and requests, and concerns about communication and safety were minimized rather than addressed. I later submitted a formal written complaint outlining these issues and never received a response from the practice. I do want to note that the front desk staff were consistently kind and professional. I had just finished explaining for the eighth time why you can't put a hyperlink on a printed assignment, and I turned my head slightly--just slightly--and my neck said, "That's it. We're done here." I had the posture of a sad question mark, the energy of a broken Chromebook, and the morale of a classroom goldfish during standardized testing season. In short: I was one sneeze away from paralysis. But then... Harbor Chiropractic in Bradenton entered my life like a glorious plot twist in the third act of a feel-good teacher movie starring Sandra Bullock. Except in this version, the hero is a chiropractor and the happy ending is spinal decompression. Walking into Harbor Chiropractic is like stepping through the wardrobe into Narnia, if Narnia had clean floors, cozy vibes, and front desk staff that actually seem happy to see you. They smile. They remember your name. They don't flinch when you collapse into the waiting room chair like a gremlin who's just finished grading 147 poorly punctuated essays about "Of Mice and Men." Then there's the adjustment itself--performed by a chiropractor who is equal parts wizard, therapist, and spinal Jedi. I lay down on the table, whispered "forgive me, Father, for I have slouched," and then--POP!--suddenly I could see color again. I came in crooked, crunchy, and emotionally compromised. I left standing taller, breathing deeper, and 17% closer to achieving inner peace (or at least surviving until Friday). My back? Singing. My hips? Shakira-level loose. My soul? Unexpectedly healed. And let's talk about their tools. These people have gadgets that beep, beds that rise from the dead, and something called a "drop table" that felt like the best surprise party my lumbar region has ever experienced. They thwack and tap and roll and adjust until you're not sure if you just got chiropractic care or participated in a very gentle exorcism. Either way, 10/10, no notes. Also, and this is HUGE: no shady "sign-your-life-away" sales pitch. No guilt trips. No weird contracts. Just clear, honest care--like, "here's what your spine's doing, here's how we can help, and here's a water bottle because hydration is important." Revolutionary. In conclusion: If you are a teacher whose body has been slowly collapsing under the emotional weight of middle school drama, behavioral referrals, and district-wide PD about "data-driven rigor," GET THYSELF TO HARBOR CHIROPRACTIC. ***UPDATE*** Being a life-long chiropractic's recipient - I deeply trust & truly believe in the process - the proof is in the pudding.  My treatment started in mid-January with a number of issues and lots of pain.  Here we are now, in mid-March, and I am feeling fabulous.  We started with 3 visits/week, then 2 visits/week, and I am now down to 1 visit per week.  Life is so good now! ***Original Post*** At 50 years old with 40+ yrs of receiving chiropractic care under several different practitioners, I must say, this practice & its staff are A++. There was practically no wait for an appointment and the new patient process was easy & thoroughly detailed. I came in understanding the process, fully aware that the initial visit would (should) not include an adjustment because it's of the utmost importance to assess exactly what they are working with before providing care. They put their heads together as a team of spinal care professionals to produce a treatment plan specifically designed for my needs. THAT IS TOP TIER CARE if you ask me. Dr. Alexa took a detailed account of my medical history, accidents, injuries, & conditions while on the next visit Dr. Kendra sat beside me, went over each xray, pointed out/explained all the areas of concern, and throughly discussed the treatment plan for me. LOVING the "if you don't like it we'll work around it" policy . Now I'm only 2 visits in right now however both visits went as I anticipated, and I feel exactly how I should after the 1st adjustment. And then there was follow up; Dr Kendra so kindly called me at the end of her busy day to see how I was feeling and get some feedback. I mean, come on, it doesn't get better than that! I'm certain I'll feel a major improvement in no time.
