To not get your car serviced here would be a huge risk from my experiences with the other shops in the area. I first spoke with Jeff on the phone, he was very professional and patient with me, he squeezed me in on a busy Saturday. When I arrived I was greeted by Fred, he was friendly and also very patiently listened to my concerns. Turned out my rear bearing was on its last leg and desperately needed replacing. Fred was very reassuring and accommodating considering they already had a full day. He was prompt to give me an estimate and order parts so that they can work on the car immediately. He was also very transparent the whole time, and even arranged one of his guys to give me a ride back home. Fred and his team knew that I had to have the car back by the following Monday and made it happen despite the short turnaround time. I'm so happy to have found a repair shop that I can trust and I will be back for all future car needs.

I am very unhappy with this place. I brought my car in for what should have been a minor repair,…read morebut instead I was charged $159 for what felt like a bogus diagnostic test. The biggest issue, however, is their customer service. They rarely return phone calls, making it extremely frustrating to get updates or schedule service. I didn't have a copy of my insurance card; the young lady was kind enough to print a copy for me from my online policy. I had a daytime running light that had been out of service for weeks. I fully expected to pay for that in addition to the cost of inspection. Apparently the wiring was loose so I was not charged. In today's environment that level of honesty is extraordinary. As a former New Yorker, I have... trust issues when it comes to mechanics…read more I can happily say Pinehawk is a great shop. I've relied on them 7 years without complaint. Quality work, thorough, quick, honest: that's not how I'm used to describing mechanics. Pricing is competitive for the region. They price parts & estimate labor for you beforehand, so you can get a second opinion or check prices elsewhere. Not once have they charged me more for parts than what I could find online. They offer refurbished or salvaged parts (if they can find them available) and they'll also use parts you bring in yourself. If, like me, you can't always afford all your repairs, they'll tell you what needs fixing immediately, what can wait, and what's optional. They're always up-to-date with TSB's. One time, my dead battery had, unbeknownst to me, actually been recalled. They got a free replacement from the manufacturer - and didn't even charge for the installation. Side note: They have a massive lot! I've never been charged for picking my car up a few days late. Finally, customer service is much better since Jamie started working the front desk. I do miss Ed though, the old guy who ran the place, but I think his son took over, so I'm not too worried about it going downhill.
