They really do not care if you are feeling unwell, they gave protocol. Apparently that is to leave patients hanging, not provide support or care. Don't go to this practice if you would like to be considered a part of your own healthcare team. Just don't go. There is a 72 hour protocol for prescription refills..... however! That is from when the provider received the request, not when it was sent. So it may be weeks before it's done,if then. With no communication, so you won't know if it actually gets done.

Requests for referrals to a specialist of my choice, COMPLETELY IGNORED. First time in my life this has happened to me. Being treated like a THIRD CLASS CITIZEN is disgusting to say the least. The quality of medical care has greatly declined and continues to sink lower as time goes on. It's all about the money and to hell with the patient. Apparently, nothing improves with time. There is another review on Yelp that I wrote a couple of years ago regarding PRIMARY CARE Dept. and nurse practitioner at Baystate Wing, Palmer, MA and my requests for referrals going unanswered. How these people can live with themselves is beyond me. I studied psychology for many years and regarding people who have no conscience, you'll find that most engage in lying, manipulation, unreliability and lack of empathy without experiencing guilt or remorse. While it seems to be customary to wait for any doctor these days I actually like this doctor and staff so it makes the wait slightly less painful. Dr. Bloom is definitely one of the best doctors I've had the pleasure of seeing for my issues and I've met some real doozies. He made me feel comfortable, listened to, and genuinely cared about. He has a good sense of humor which makes for a good bedside manner. Now keep in mind I haven't seen him in over 3 years and yet he knew me right away. I will continue to see Dr. Bloom for as long as medically necessary; and for as long as I'm in CT, you should to!

This family member contracted H1N1 in 2009 almost died and could not hold food down for over 3 weeks. Brigham Women's and Mayo Clinics ER could offer no solutions at that time. Then 8 months later viral meningitis attacked this same member's digestive system -- sick another 4 months. Then we found dr Chaney who came up with the diagnosis of involuntary acid reflux . She sat down twice and provided in depth diet guidelines in great detail and taking time. Providing wonderful guidance. And just before our family member moved away, dr Chaney MADE time ( right before her vacation) to do one last endoscopy . ... NO one ever before or after has given us such excellent guidance... I've been with this office for 15 years. They used to be great. Now they're complete trash…read more I've been seeing the same doctor throughout the years. I was scheduled to have upper and lower endoscopies done. It took me over six months to get an appointment. When procedure day arrived, I was wheeled into the operating room only to see an unfamiliar face. I had never met this doctor before, and didn't even know her name. She insulted me as I was being put under. I woke in recovery and told I'd have an appointment to go over the results in three months. That was the soonest they could get me in. I arrive to my confirmed appointment 15 minutes early as instructed. After 30 minutes of waiting a nurse informed me that Dr C was out ill and no one would see me. I later spoke with doctor only to find she called in at 0600 and informed staff she wouldn't be in for the day. No one told me nor did they give me an alternative appointment. I asked to have the doctor call me and was simply told "she'll call you tomorrow." No time was given. At 15:00 the following day I called and was told I had a phone appointment for 16:00. It would have been helpful to know that but I wasn't ever notified. At 17:30, an hour and a half after my appointment Dr C finally called only to say she'll see me in three months. Dr Cesar also said she called in at 06:00. When I spoke to Amanda Shamrock from Baystate Gastro, she threw Dr Cesar under the bus saying "She didn't call in until 09:15 and she was lying about calling in at 06:00 because no one got a message." Amanda then proceeded to blame the call center saying they were at fault. She did everything except apologize for their poor treatment. I then informed her I would be sending her a bill for the no call no show appointment I went to. That's when Amanda lost it and screamed that she was hanging up if I was going to threaten her. The staff is disrespectful of your time, including Dr Cesar, lie about each other, refuse to take any responsibility, and as I saw with Amanda, as she is completely unhinged. It's scary knowing a practice would allow someone who's that unprofessional to continue to work there. I would encourage everyone to find another gastroenterologist since this office is nuts! ***I've never even heard of this in my life but...I'm now getting crank calls from Baystate Gastro. I can only assume they're from Amanda. She's calling and hanging up when I answer. ***

I have been to Hampshire Gastrointestinal previously and was treated well but this was pretty serious and I needed an appointment sooner.
