Chika Ugwu prescribed abilify which took care of the pain caused by anxiety (I think lol) this med is used for different conditions it was prescribed for my deep depression since taking prozac and Zoloft for years on and off didn't work, to me it is a miracle since I couldn't drink water only sweetened drinks which calmed my pain I avoided spicy food, most fruits and veggies but the pain only decreased to a certain level. After taking abilify for about 2 weeks my pain disappeared, my love for life came back but... it made me gain around 6-8 pounds in 2 months so she changed my meds to a similar medication same effect, side effects but no weight gain! After 2 weeks I feel great and no weight so far yay! What I like the most is that I can see her often so she can check how the meds are working! thanks dr Ugwu for taking time to talk to m, checking often how I am doing which is very rare these days

First appt I never got the link, 2nd appointment was when I found out he could not help me because of the distance. So the initial scheduler definitely does not know their area so I was super annoyed because I was waiting a week. Finally re-scheduled with a local Dr the lady that day definitely was kind and understanding. I arrive virtually to my now 3rd appointment with now Dr. Mareena Miller and sat waiting in the que for an hour and she never showed up to the appointment. The ladies in the office are completely clueless when it comes to how to deal with their patients--this was on a Sunday. I kept being told to sit and wait and then they send a new sign on link without saying so so I was sitting in the wrong que and finally jumped in the correct one (I think) and still no doctor. Highly disappointed and will NEVER refer anyone here. For you office staff--try to think about the patients you are working with and some have mental needs and the way you handle a situation can a bad affect on that individual. The lack ok knowledge and care sent me into a spiral and had a severe panic attack which landed me in ER. Hope you all had a wonderful Sunday because I sure didn't

The staff is so friendly, it feels like they are the chik-fil-a of hospitals. You will not go hungry here. But you will get bored of eating the same food every time. For snack time I got 2 milks, 2 pb&j sandwiches, and got granola bars and snuck them into my room in case I got hungry when food isn't available. I had to go to court. I was ordered by a judge to take my medicine and stay in the hospital. One day, it was action packed! There was a guy who charged at a metal exterior door and he escaped for a little bit. Honestly, I thought about doing the same thing, but I couldn't risk getting my time extended because my family is going on vacation a week after my discharge. You get to see the different levels of severity of mental illness. There was one lady who looked like she could have been a professional model if she never did drugs. She flipped her food tray during lunch and made a huge mess. Staff is super friendly. Elizabeth (social worker), sorry for pestering you that one day. Also I stole a few towels. I didn't steal the blanket, I thought that would be too much. It was at this hospital that I realized I have a dual diagnosis of Savant syndrome Bipolar (not schizoaffective)(I don't hallucinate) Alcohol and drug abuse. I gained like 20 pounds here from eating 3 meals a day and 3 large snacks a day and doing zero exercise. I'm writing this the morning after my discharge. I'm starting to accept after like ten years I need some medicine to keep me level-headed. I did and am going to do therapy to be normal. I'm going to do this cuz the girl I live wants me to "get (my) shit together." I tend to be fearless and extremely ambitious when I am manic. Then sometimes I am depressed and just want a gun to pop myself. I was homeless in my car and on the sidewalks too. Overall, I am being rehabilitated correctly with a solid foundation. I want to be rehabilitated and be normal so that I can win her back.

Being in retail for 30 years made me realize that people are weiners for the most part. If the perfect visit doesn't happen then its a dramatic failure. This is an honest review from me. Its quite the trek out there but Maps had us go some back route which had donkeys! I saw about 3-4 patches of donkeys hanging out. Very cool! Loma Linda Neurology finally happened. The parking definitely needs more spaces but we were early and got one right away. Was told where the neurologist was by a friendly worker. Went to the basement and checked in. They were very friendly and thanked us for being early. Went back to the Drs area and checked in very easy as well. Waited for the neurologist and he was on time. Dr Vitorovic was just what i needed. Informative, kind, and to the point. Went through everything and discussed options. We left with a lot of information, next steps, and future plans. I also thanked the nice lady who gave us the right directions to the Neurologist. When we left the lot was in a frenzy for parking, hence the earlier comment. Overall my experience as a kind person seeking help ended differently then previous reviews. I would recommend LLN to others and next time i go im hugging a donkey on the way up

My psychiatrist was unreassuring during my appointment, so he suggested that I meet with his boss and the owner of the establishment, Dr. Desai, to address my concerns. I appreciated the redirection and agreed to meet with him in person. We scheduled an appointment for September 17th at 1:30 PM. On the day of the appointment, I received a call from Dr. Desai at approximately 12:45 PM. I reminded him that we had an appointment scheduled for 1:30 PM, but he told me that he did not see the appointment on his end. I simply told him that I felt this was unprofessional. Instead of acknowledging the scheduling issue or attempting to resolve the situation, he became upset by my comment and told me that I could call my insurance and find someone else. That response was extremely disappointing, especially considering that he is the owner of the establishment. Mistakes with scheduling can happen, but what matters is how you take accountability and treat the patient when a mistake occurs. I was not expecting perfection--I was expecting professionalism, communication, and accountability. Being told to simply find another provider after I raised a reasonable concern was incredibly frustrating and left me feeling dismissed. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this practice. Patients deserve to feel heard, respected, and taken seriously, especially when they are seeking mental health care.

It is my understanding that Loma Linda University Medical Center is a teaching hospital. Teaching…read morehospitals can be wonderful, and my experiences with UCI, another teaching hospital, have for the most part involved elevated, quality care. Unfortunately, our experience at Loma Linda was very different. On Friday night, I took my daughter in for a gastric-related emergency while she was in her first trimester of pregnancy. We were directed from the ER to the Labor & Delivery/Maternity area. I understand there are limitations on what can safely be done during early pregnancy, so this review is not about the medical care that was or was not provided. My concern is the astonishing lack of communication between staff and what felt like a notable absence of experienced supervision. My daughter needed to be evaluated by Gastroenterology. Having spent more time in hospitals with her than I ever would have wanted, I completely understand that specialty teams round when they can. Waiting for GI was not the problem. Eventually, a GI doctor came into the room, spoke with us, and after discussing the options, we decided not to proceed with an endoscopy. Fine. Then apparently he activated stealth mode. Five additional hours passed, and staff still seemed to be waiting for a procedure that we had already declined. During that time, we told three different nurses that GI had already been there and that we were not proceeding with the endoscopy. Yet somehow that information apparently traveled nowhere. By this point, we had been there approximately 15 1/2 hours, during which my daughter had labs, one bag of IV fluids, an ultrasound, and a great deal of waiting. Eventually, after we became increasingly frustrated and pushed for answers, another doctor came in and told us she was waiting for the procedure orders. That was the moment our patience finally evaporated. We explained, again, that GI had already seen my daughter and there was not going to be a procedure. At that point, I genuinely wondered: Does anyone here actually talk to anyone else? The discharge conversation didn't improve matters. The doctor explained signs of gastric bleeding that should prompt my daughter to return. I said that I had spoken with my daughter about letting me know immediately if those symptoms occurred so I could bring her back. The doctor then looked directly at my daughter and said, "You know, you don't have to tell her anything. You can come to the hospital on your own as well." She followed that by saying that if my daughter didn't tell anyone or didn't come to the hospital, she would be assuming that risk herself. She then looked at me and added, "No offense." It was an incredibly strange and unnecessary response to a mother saying she would bring her pregnant daughter back to the hospital if she began showing signs of another gastric bleed. I found the implication uncomfortable and inappropriate. After approximately 15 1/2 hours, my daughter was finally discharged. Loma Linda, if you're reading this: do better. A teaching hospital should be teaching more than medicine. Communication between physicians, nurses, specialty teams, and patients is part of patient care. When three nurses are told that a procedure has been declined, yet hours later a physician is still waiting for orders for that procedure, something in the system has broken down. And while I understand that teaching hospitals rely heavily on residents and physicians in training, patients also deserve to feel that appropriate supervision and experienced medical leadership are present and accessible. We didn't expect instant answers or VIP treatment. We expected communication, coordination, and confidence in the people caring for a medically complicated pregnant patient. On this visit, unfortunately, we didn't get that.
