I'm so thrilled to have found a doctor who gets to know you as a person, answers questions, is thorough, careful, knowledgeable, gets back to you, and works with other physicians. Dr. Haque knows her business and is a great diagnostician. She has good relationships with other doctors and when she has to refer you out, she does not hesitate to do so. There are many PCP's who like to try and be a one stop shop for any problem you have. Sometimes they can be, but other times they should not be. Dr. Haque clearly is a MD who will work with other physicans if she feels you need to have an issue looked into further. My whole family has moved to Dr. Haque. I have a kidney transplant and I found that Dr. Haque works with my nephrologist in case something is needed. I have, in the past gone to different PCP's and not all of them would work with my nephrologist. Dr. Haque is thorough, she asks questions, and she has gotten to know my whole family and after my visit, she always asks how they are. I have never had a problem with the office staff. The previous reviews are interesting because I'd had similar experiences at Dr. Haque's office. I'll first say that I fully agree that the PA, Jennifer, is outstanding. She's a real sweetheart - very patient, genuinely concerned, and knowledgeable PA. I think Dr. Haque is a very good doctor. She's very nice, seems to ask the correct questions and has consistently provided a correct diagnosis (which is a lot more than I can say for other doctors I've been to). If I'm sick, I trust her knowledge/experience to make the correct diagnosis and prescribe the best medicine to help me feel better... she's been my doctor for the past 8-9 years and I'm satisfied with her. With this said, there have been some issues. Multiple times when I've scheduled an appointment with Dr. Haque, I've ended up meeting with her PA, Jennifer, instead because Dr. Haque was unavailable. (As stated above Jennifer is an outstanding PA so didn't mind too much but if I've set an appointment with the doctor I expect to see the doctor.). There have even been 2-3 occasions when I've set an afternoon appointment with Dr. Haque and they say she's already left for the day so I have to meet with the PA. That strikes me as EXTREMELY unprofessional and is not something I've ever experienced with any other doctor. When I've met with Dr. Haque she's great and I've never had any issues with her... the problem is that if I set an appointment with her (especially an afternoon appointment), I can never be 100% certain she's actually be at that appointment. I'm a very patient person so have let a lot of this slide over the past few years but doubt many other people would find this acceptable. But at the end of the day I think Dr. Haque is a very good doctor and, again, I can't say enough good things about her PA Jennifer!!! UPDATE: Edited to add that while I think that Dr. Haque and Jennifer are good, much of their office staff is terrible in my opinion. There have been numerous times I call the office ahead of time to get needed referrals sent to another doctor I needed to see only to find that the REFERRAL WAS NEVER SENT when I showed up at the appointment with the other doctor, which is a real pain and extremely annoying. Overall, I don't think their office staff is very reliable - I've had multiple issues obtaining simple referrals and obtaining other basic information over the years. read more

I've been coming to this office for about the last 6 years. Sure, my visits have sometimes been brusque and my dealings with the office staff have sometimes been difficult. But I always found Dr. Haque and especially Jennifer Conway, her PA, to be very professional and attentive. More importantly, they provided a sense of complete care like what I received growing up in a small town. Unfortunately, I found out at my most recent appointment that Jennifer is no longer with the practice! Office staff were only able to say that she's gone to another practice out of state. I visited this office once for a pre-surgery physical and it was the worst experience I have ever had at a doctor's office (and I've been a patient in hospitals in multiple third world countries). I made an appointment with the doctor but was seen by the PA. I wasn't worried about this until the PA turned out to be incompetent. I told the PA several times that I had neuroma or tumors in my foot. She nodded as if she understood and asked me to take off my shoes (even though you can't see tumors from the outside of a foot, I complied). She took a look and nodded and said, "Ok, so they'll just remove the toe nails?" I should have run out then but I wanted to get the blood work done so that I could get the surgery I needed. She then asked if she could put papers I had been reviewing in the waiting room on a nearby table so she could examine me more. I handed her the papers and then she started going through and reading my personal papers! The PA kept insisting that they should do more tests than my foot surgeon had requested which would take up more of my time and money. The receptionists were terrible as well. They provided me with incorrect information about my insurance (stating I needed to add the doctor as my PCP even though I have a PPO). In addition, I called ahead to ask if there was anything I needed to do for this particular visit and they told me there wasn't anything. When I arrived, I was asked if I could come back the next day because I should have been fasting for the blood tests. They also never provided me with the results of the blood test. I was told that they could not mail the results but when I received my bill, there was another individual's medical information on my bill. I'm pretty sure this is a violation of HIPAA. Their knowledge of medicine reflected that of the PA's because they asked me who my aesthetician was for the surgery and I don't think they thought I was getting my makeup done before surgery! This is a horrible doctor's office. Don't go! The only good thing about this place is the in house Quest Lab Technician. I didn't even feel the needle when he drew blood. He was awesome. read more

This is a great practice. Sometimes you do have to wait, but both of these ladies are an asset to they're profession. Always kind, friendly, and spot on with diagnosis. I've been coming here for about 10 years. I have never had a problem. read more

I dont mind dr haque so much she is ok WHAT I THINK DR HAQUE NEEDS IS TO REPLACE HER FRONT DESK STAFF ! They all suck! They never ever get back to you!!! I had to call 3 times for them to do something for me or transfer documents to a specialist or even to get a specialist number it was a pain in the ass!! I love it how they use COVID 19 for their laziness and unprofessional customer service!! They were like this WAY BEFORE COVID lol. While Dr. Haque and her staff are nice enough, I'm disappointed with my overall appointment and the office. There are several issues: - Timeliness: I was there for 2 hours for a standard annual physical - 5 minutes of which was spent with the nurse, 10 with the doctor (5 of which was just chatting - which was nice, but actual patient time was only about 5 minutes), and 10 giving a urine sample/getting blood drawn. Dr. Haque was very nice when she came in and noticed I had my baby with me and said had she known that, she would've seen me first. Wish that had been communicated! - Info in computer: I submitted all my info online in advance. This was great at the front desk and I didn't have to fill out anything. Back at the lab, though, I was told that the two computers don't "talk to each other" and I had to tell him my information - aloud, with which I was not entirely comfortable. - Questions: Dr. Haque walked me out of my appt room to the lab before concluding our discussion at all. She just finished checking my chest, had me get up and let me out. I've had other doctors who've finished the visit in their office, discussed and allowed time for questions. Dr. Haque just walked off and as she was about to walk into another appointment room called back across the hall, "Do you have any questions?" I didn't, but if I did, I certainly wouldn't have been comfortable asking them out there. - Bedside manner: This didn't really bother me, but I'm including it because I could see it bothering some people. Dr. Haque seemed rather old fashioned and made a few unusual comments. We have two kids and I mentioned we were planning on more. She said, "Your husband wants lots of kids?" I replied that I did, as well. I just thought it was odd she assumed it was my husband pushing me to have children. All in all, Dr. Haque was friendly and knowledgeable, but I would have preferred a more thorough, timely examination. read more

I have no idea what happened in the medical scene that made it the norm to have super low expectations of an office staff. If I get charged for being late or not showing up for an appointment, why in the world is it acceptable - no, even worse - expected to have to wait for an appointment and to be treated badly by the staff at the front desk? I showed up at 2:20 for my 2:30 appointment, and actually felt bad that I hadn't come at 2:15. I shouldn't have. I walked in and signed in, and no one spoke to me. I sat down, and I waited. And I waited. AND I WAITED SOME MORE. I think it took about thirty minutes for someone to talk to me - and there's one reason why the staff deigned to speak to me. A guy walked in, signed in, and then the staff started talking to him. I was shocked that no one had spoken to me ONCE and they were talking to a new patient - so I leaned around him and glared daggers at the woman at reception. She saw me, and said something like I see you, I'll get to you in a second. Seriously?? Oh, ok. Don't put yourself out. I finally went back to see the doctor (not really, I got an appointment with the PA) at 3:12. That is almost one hour after I arrived, and almost 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment. Once I was in, everything was fast and the PA was nice. I don't know how to change the culture of medical offices. I can only speak with my patronage and money. I've lived in the area for several years and have no regular doctor because so many of them have such horrendous office staffs and are so consistently late when seeing patients. I refuse to accept that as normal, and I also refuse to continue to see doctors who obviously value their patients and their patients' time so little. So. I don't know - pay your staff more and hire competent people? Schedule fewer patients so that you can actually see people when their appointment is made? I don't know, it doesn't seem like a difficult concept. Barring immediate complications from the thing that made me see a doctor today, I won't be going back to this office. read more

I went to her last year and I thought she was great. She was easy to talk to and friendly. However her nurses were beyond rude. They were terrible, they talked down to me and I definitely did not feel welcomed by them, in fact I felt like I was a burden on their gum popping, nail filing schedule. I give the place three stars because of the nurses, but the dr. herself is great. When you go in, just ignore the nurses. thats what I plan on doing next time. read more

This was the worst doctor visit I have even had. I had a severe acute infection of the my left ear. Half way through the examination she left me sitting on her exam table for 15 minutes while she was on the phone chatting about personal things in the hallway. I was in severe pain. When she returned to the exam room she told me I needed to see an ENT immediately. She said this was a serious ear infection and I needed to get to the doctor right away. I asked her if she could call the doctor she was referring me to, to make sure he could see me, she just looked at me blindly and didn't say a word. I was shaken and could hardly function but when I arrived at the ENT's office I was told I would have to wait 2 days before being seen. If you have ever had an severe ear infection you know how dibilitating and painful it is. I would have felt much better if Dr. Haque would have helped me read more

First, let me say that Dr Haque's PA, Jennifer, is fantastic. She was patient and thorough and knowledgeable. If she'd only get a job with a better doctor/office, I'd be happy to be her patient for as long as I live in Northern Virginia. This is quite possibly the worst-run office in existence. The staff could easily be overheard in the waiting room as they discussed patients' cases and billing issues. In an odd contrast, the technicians announcing the next patient to be seen could barely be heard as they mumbled approximations of the patients' names into their clipboards. There was an automatic air-freshener in the waiting room, the presence of which I found baffling, given the link of these chemicals to cancer (http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1664954,00.html) and the notion that a doctor's office will likely play host to people with respiratory ailments. Then there was the wait. Thirty-five minutes past my scheduled appointment time, I was informed that the office had switched me arbitrarily to the PA from the doctor with whom I had made the appointment, and that she was running behind. Sixty-five minutes into my scheduled appointment, I was mumbled at and taken back to an exam room, and fifteen minutes after that, I met with the PA. I'm thankful that I wasn't trying to fit in my appointment on my lunch hour. As if I wasn't annoyed at the time -wasting unpleasantness of my office visit, I received further evidence of the office's incompetence when I went to go pick up my prescription. Despite my having provided my name three times to them (on the handwritten intake form, on my photo ID, and on my health insurance card), they managed to misspell my last name. I was held up at the pharmacy for an additional 30 minutes as they corrected the error to prevent billing problems and ensure that I was the person for whom the prescriptions were intended. So, I have some advice: Jennifer, please leave this practice so I can continue to be your patient; Dr Haque, you really should hire some competent people and run a tighter ship. read more

Dr. Medina Haque used to be my doctor but I left and found a better doctor. The few times I've been here, the doctor always tries to rush me out as does the nurses. Once I was about to ask a question and the nurse bolted out before I could. When I was pregnant, I had a cold and I wasn't sure what medicine I could take. So my Ob/gyno asked me to call my primary doctor (Dr. Haque) and I ended up talking to one of the girls at the reception desk. I asked her to ask the doctor and to call me back. Never did, so I called back and she never asked the doctor. So she put me on hold to ask, but when she came back on (rather too quickly) she gave me an answer but sounded unsure like she made it up. So I listened to my instinct and just skipped any meds. Also, the dr. has very cold bed side manners. My husband, who has also seen her, does not like the practice. He came in to do blood test and never received a call regarding results. So he had to call a bunch of times and no one ever returned his call. read more

I had two or three visits here and agree with most people - the PA was great, but the doctor has the classic, "my time is more valuable than your time" arrogance. I scheduled an inconvenient time for myself with a guarantee from the [rather cold] receptionist that it was Dr. Haque who I would be seeing. Well past my scheduled appointment time, I was finally called back and seen by the PA only. This would not have been quite such a disappointment had it not been for the walk-in customer (we are customers to her) who was greeted in the waiting room by the doctor with a smile and a short conversation in her native tongue, then shown promptly to the back at precisely the time my visit was scheduled. The favoritism was painfully obvious, and I will continue my search for a doctor who is both knowledgeable and humble. read more

I was probably one of her first male patients 16-17 year ago;. She scolded and shamed me into losing weight and cutting back on vices. When bad xrays or lab results came in her staff and even the Dr. on one occasion called me back all concerned but rather than terrifiy me before the weekend (black lung xray) she told me it might just be a virus (it was) rather than something deadly. Any time I had a respiratory illness she'd get me inhalers and antibiotics that cleared things right up. The Dr. always got me great specialists referred right there in VA Hospital Center for internal medicine, respiratory, etc but 99% of the time she cures my ailments. She has probably added at least a decade to my life and always scolds me like a Jewish Mother for not taking my BP meds more regularly. read more

I was a patient of Jennifer Conway's from 2008-2013 (she was Dr. Haque's PA.) She left the practice in October of 2013 to move back to PA. I know this might sound silly but a good Dr. is important (ok so she was a PA and not a MD-minor difference) but the years I spent with her being my "doctor" were the best experiences I have ever with a primary care physician. Jennifer was SO NICE and SO CARING and always went the extra mile with me to make sure I was comfortable with what was going on and she always took the time to understand my worries or concerns about things...you don't find this much these days folks! I know it sounds corny but I really miss her, we built a good relationship up during her stay there. She has now been replaced by a RN "Ester", I do not like her AT ALL...she has horrible communication issues with patients, constantly talks over you and practically rushes you out of the exam room. I stay because I've been there so long I don't feel like taking on the doctor search again but boy do you notice a change at this office now...RIP Jennifer:) P.S. Dr. Haque is ok, but I rarely see her so I can't comment much about her. read more
