We had two exursions with this vendor and I would advise you to use a smaller tour operator. They are not much more or in many cases less money.

We drove to the dock ourselves, and what an incredible trip (kind of long from Te Anau), but so much beauty, allow time for roadside photo stops. The cruise itself was superb, photos can't do it justice. We stayed on the top deck the entire time, gaping at one incredible scene after another. Bottlenose dolphins played alongside the boat, and we saw sea otters as well. Magnificent waterfalls and informative commentary. Couldn't have been more pleased! When walking back to the car, I forgot to zip up my backpack all the way and my wallet fell out. The couple who found it in the parking lot contacted me and couldn't have been nicer about trying to get it back to me. Luckily, they spoke to the agents at the tour counter who looked me up and saw that we booked the Gloworms tour the next day, and bussed my wallet to the Te Anau location where it was waiting for me the next morning! So very kind and special, thank you to all! Oh, the Gloworms tour was amazing as well, you can't get that kind of experience anywhere else. Time on the boat to the cave was awesome! Not for the claustrophobic, I'd say, and be sure to wear good footwear and rain gear. Just wish I could have taken some photos inside the cave!

My extended family stayed in this apartment and we congregated here as it was the bigger of the 2…read morerooms. Immediately upon walking in, you are met with the stunning view of Lake Wakatipu. Loved the tall windows spanning the length of the apartment and the skylight near the balcony. The kitchen is fully equipped with cutlery and cookware if you wanted to cook. There's also a washing machine and dryer and they supply dry detergent which is super helpful for our longish trip overseas. Also loved the gas fireplace on those cold days while lounging looking out at the lake. There were 2 separate rooms each with their own bathroom-1 room had the queen? sized bed closer to the living room and the other room was by the entrance of the apartment which had 2 twin sized beds. You can also walk out to the balcony and enjoy the fresh air of NZ. I believe they were doing some remodeling at the time but it was a bit inconvenient to get to the apartment-first take an elevator to a different floor, then pass through the parking garage, then take another elevator, then short walk to the apartment... hence the lower than 5 stars. Also the breakfast buffet was pretty small but it did the job. The location is right by the lake and only a 10 min walk to the downtown. I would definitely recommend to stay here if you're visiting Queenstown and maybe go to another place for breakfast.

Hurley's is old and very dated, which on its own isn't a huge drama. But when the toilet is leaking, doors don't close cleanly, carpet looks a little dodgy, stay hairs are found throughout the room etc. (I'm sure you get the picture) it leaves a sour taste in your mouth after forking out big cash. Oh and the 'honeymoon suite' over looks the main road into town, along with all the traffic noise. Not really what we had in mind for a relaxing stay in Queenstown. If you want a modern, comfortable, quiet stay in Queenstown then stay away!! However if you don't mind go ahead this place will suit your needs.
