Unprofessional, Deceptive, and Disrespectful I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a service provider when I hired Happy Tree Service. We had a written agreement via text about what would and would not be cut--including a specific, healthy tree that I explicitly said to leave alone. I am the property owner, and that agreement should have been final. Instead, they went ahead and cut it down anyway. Now the owner's son is claiming someone else gave him permission--an excuse I don't believe for a second. Then he had the audacity to double the price and justify it by saying it was because of the tree he wasn't supposed to cut in the first place. That's not just unprofessional, it's manipulative. I also paid for stump grinding, and what they left behind is a complete mess--huge, dangerous trunk remnants scattered across the yard, and a giant mound where the tree once stood. Nothing was leveled as promised. It's unsafe and sloppy. I paid hundreds of dollars for arborist reports that were never delivered. I followed up multiple times and was completely ghosted. The owner's son screams, refuses to fix his work, and literally told me to "take him to court." So I will. This company is dishonest, aggressive, and deeply unprofessional. Do not be fooled by their name--there is nothing "happy" about Happy Tree Service. Stay far away. read more

I love working with Happy's Tree Service! The entire crew was efficient, very professional, friendly, and all-around awesome! Steve was especially great- he came to do a walk through and give me a quote barely 24 hours after I contacted them. This company totally wasted my time. Set an appointment for an estimate on tree trimming with their rep. set to arrive between 1-3pm. At 3:40 they call me saying they on the property and to meet them out front. That's just total nonsense nobody was here. Called the guy back who tells me he's at the wrong address but on the way. Steve, the owner, knows his trees but his ego is over the top. Came 20 minutes early for our appointment, which was the start of a 20 minute VERY LATE lunch window in our schedule. We asked him politely to do a walk through the property and look over the trees while we finished and we'd join him in just 10 minutes. Mind you, this would have still had us meeting 10 minutes BEFORE our appointment time. He just snuck off without a word and left! Excuse us for not allowing a perfect stranger to intimidate us out of our lunch. I have a health condition that dictates I eat on time, but I shouldn't have to explain that. Called the office and left a message with no response. So if you want to deal with an attitude, this is the company for you. I came out to go to work and there were Happy trucks, blocking my driveway, a lift on my property partially in my driveway, a bobcat parked in the center of my driveway as well as a bunch of tree debris in my driveway. The entire tree was dropped on my property and now my grass is all dead. I tried to be cool about it for the neighbors and told one of workers that I had to go to work in 30 minutes, but over an hour later there was still stuff in my driveway and trucks blocking it. I couldn't get out of my garage... No one ever asked if they could take over my property and when I expressed not being pleased Steve, the owner acted like it was fine and all I had to do was ask them to move. First of all I did, and NO, you actually trespassed on my property and it is you that should have asked beforehand. When I talked to the neighbor that had the job done, he said he saw them when he got home and was shocked himself that they did all that on my property and thought they would have done all the work from his property. Looking now at the dead grass and oil leaks I had to say something. Again, no permission was requested for this and none was given. How would you feel about this? read more

He came out with a crew that were all professional and used modern machinery to quickly and safely remove my tall tree. He is a certified arborist and really knows what he is talking about. Terrible company. They removed a neighbors tree and broke my fence which they sent a handyman to repair. He had the wrong materials and repaired it anyway with those. I had to have the original company that installed it come back and repair it correctly and Steve, the owner, refuses to pay for the correct repair. Our new home has live oaks, palms, and other trees on the property. We needed a lot of work done so my wife & I had a few tree trimming companies come out to bid. Happ came out and he was very friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. He gave us some really good tips and he quoted a fair price for all of the work considered. Happys Tree Service had to trim a ton of live oak branches that were hanging uncomfortably close to our roof, they had to remove a lot of deadwood, chopped down & removed miscellaneous trees and bushes, they pruned a few palm trees, Happ pointed out a dying tree that had to be cleaned up (including a huge branch arching over our driveway and street that was ready to fall at any moment), and at the end of the day, they made our property pop! Happ's crew was extremely efficient, friendly, and their clean up job was outstanding! No branch left behind! After receiving multiple quotes from other ISA member tree companies to remove (5) limbs from our front oak tree and prune our large rear oak tree we decided on Happy's Tree Service based on price for the job. (First time using Happy's Tree service) The owner removed the limbs from the front tree, although, he was very argumentative as to how many limbs (5) we wanted removed . This surprised us considering 5 lower limbs to be removed was written on his quote. (he did eventually remove the 5th limb). The rear oak he was, according to his quote, "elevate and remove deadwood out of live oak in rear of yard". When he first came to quote the job we specifically said we wanted our side of the rear tree (half was on neighbors side) to be completely pruned. When we received the quote noting "elevate and remove deadwood out of live oak in rear of yard" we thought, OK, that's not completely what we indicated we wanted done when this company visited us to quote the job, maybe that's the way this company writes their quotes for pruning (our mistake for not having exactly what we wanted done to our tree written in their quote). I was not home when they finished, check for payment was handed to them , I came home and noticed just the lower portion of our large oak tree was elevated and most deadwood removed, from the midsection to the top nothing was done, lots of deadwood still existed. (we have pictures). Contacted the owner asking when he'll return to finish the job and he refused (which we knew he would), and again, very argumentative ( we expected). Unethical , unprofessional company. Needless to say, we will not use or recommend this company to anyone in the future. Buyer Beware read more
