I have been taking my sheltie Koda to Camp Chinquapin East for almost a year now and we love it!…read moreEvery day we go to leave for work and Koda is running out the door and straight to the car so he can go to daycare and play with his friends. I can open the car door and Koda runs straight to the door at daycare to be let in! He's ready to play the day away. The best part is when we pick him up in the afternoons he's exhausted and just wants to cuddle for the rest of the evening and this Mama loves it! Koda is a high energy breed and no matter how much I throw the ball with him he never tires out. Daycare is the only way he can exert all of his energy. We have gone on a few trips and had a friend stay with Koda at home and he's shown signs of separation anxiety. This past August we went on a cruise and boarded him at Camp Chinquapin and he has never done better. I was so relieved to know he was in good hands. He was with his friends, he was surrounded by the faculty that loves him so much and was right at home in his home away from home. My puppy is 8 months old and 4pds that gets excited to see people and other dogs. If anyone behind the desk opened the gate, they wouldn't watch her, and she would escape. Well, due to nothing being done to fix the problem, they let her escape outside to the parking lot and luckily was able to catch her. I only found this out through a family member telling me. The only thing they would do is put her in a kennel alone all day. When I found out she escaped outside, I went and picked her up and was told she could only return if I got her training through Andy... the "trainer" at Chinquapin...haha, well I call Andy for help and he tells me no, he will not train my dog and she is not allowed back unless she goes outside in the yard with the big dogs. Really, you want to put a 4pd Chorkie outside with 50-100pd dogs...So I told them if they aren't willing to help train a 8 month old puppy she would not be back. And they could care less... so if you have a puppy that loves people and other dogs I would not recommend this place!! If you want someone to train your puppy, good luck with Andy. His attitude about my dog was uncalled for!! Sincerely a very disappointed Dog Mom!!
