This review is LONG over due. We got our Oban in 2020…read more After graduating puppy school at Smarty Pups, we thought it would be a good idea to continue socializing Oban through daycare. I did a fair amount of research via Yelp, but found Good Dog via Instagram. We met Erik and Teal for "testing" at their facilitating near the Alemany Market, and phew!, Oban passed. The facility is spacious, clean, and has an indoor and outdoor area. We started Oban with 3 days a week playcare. He is picked up between 10-11am and home between 4-5pm. He is exhausted by the time he gets home and we don't experience the witching hour that we do when he is home all day. Unlike off-leash plays at the beach, we are not concerned that Oban will bring home lbs of sand or worse off run away. You can tell that Teal, Erik, and Yvonne all love dogs and they take great care of all of the pups. Sometimes, our Oban sits and stares at the door waiting for one of them to come through and take him away to his happy place. We don't know whether to have hurt feelings, or feel joy because he is so happy to go there. When we were finally able to travel (COVID and all) we boarded Oban with Teal and Erik. They sent us daily pictures and updates about his well-being, and what he was doing. These people just plain love dogs and treat them well.

5 stars is far too few for Good Dog Playcare. After our baby was born last year, we realized we…read moreneeded a better dog care situation for our handsome bichon-poodle mix Teddy. We found Good Dog via yelp, and we quickly understood the 5-star reviews that came before ours. Teal, Erik, and Yvonne are absolutely fabulous hoomans who clearly LOVE doggos. Teddy has so much fun with his friends! He comes home every day tired from all of his playing, but then can't wait to go back the next day. Good Dog makes it super easy for us by picking Teddy up and dropping him off at home, and we love the photos (both on Instagram and sent to our phones nearly every day). And their prices are super reasonable! In short -- if you have a doggo and need daycare, call Good Dog today!!!

He was so fond of Mandy that…read moreas soon as he heard her car park in front of the house, he'd sprint from wherever he was, wagging his tail, waiting for her to open the door. That's a pretty great indication that my dog loves her and the care she gives him! Mandy and Josh have been wonderful to work with. City Pups are reliable and great with communication - couldn't recommend them more!

Josh and Raquel set the gold standard of excellence in dog care as far as I'm concerned! I've had…read moresome great dog walkers (and some no-so-great ones) over the years, but City Pups SF gets my vote for all around BEST experience for my dog. My critter is a lively and exuberant 3-year old dalmatian mix with very high energy needs. The previous company I tried simply couldn't handle him and treated him as a behavioral problem. (In my defense, I run 4 miles with him EVERY morning before leaving for work). Josh and Raquel came to my apartment, interviewed me (and the dog!) and determined that Samson was actually a pretty great animal and just needs to channel that crazy energy with some off-leash dog walks at McLaren Park with a gang of mutt-pals. Through photographs, texts, and a couple of videos, I've gotten to see just how my dog is handling the group outings and how much he has matured and improved as a result. When I get home from work, my dog is calm and well-mannered and I'm certain it's because of City Pups. I have also seen how Raquel interacts with the dog and it is very clear that she is a trained professional, who clearly likes --and knows-- what she is doing. It's also wonderful as a city dog owner living in SOMA that my boy gets to run around like a crazy coot in the grassy fields of a big park. Another really important bonus is that my dog gets to interact with (and learn from) his "pack." THANK YOU City Pups SF!

Patty has been H's dog walker for almost 2 years. My husband met her at Walter Haas and was…read moreimpressed by her attention and care to the dogs she was in charge of and asked her if she could take Mr. H on these playtimes. He was a puppy then and had (and still does have) a lot of energy. She was great about finding the right tools to reign his puppy-ness while still giving him a great work out. She takes the dogs to Walter Haas, Douglas, and Bernal. Patti always lets us know if there are issues we should be aware of (important to us as H is our first "child" and we want to know these kind of details). I feel like she's protective of her dogs and looks out for them, something we really appreciate as we take H to various SF parks a lot and seen dog walkers/owners that are not as attentive and the consequences, dog scuffles/ears bitten, not good. Before Patti agreed to take H on, I think we went through a trial period to make sure he was compatible with her other dogs. We found that really reassuring as we didn't want H with dogs that didn't get along with him and risks for doggy scuffles. Patti is also very flexible and responsible with schedules. I can send her e-mails/voicemails and she always gets back to me. She comes when she's supposed to and when there's any uncertainty regarding our schedule she confirms. Oh and whenever she takes a holiday (only once or twice that I can remember) she let us know way in advance. She takes her job seriously and is a professional. I can't say enough good things about her.
