My local friend brought us here to sing karaoke and this place is awesome. Aesthetics were cute and very clean, and the room set up was great! I am from Vegas and we have a lot of karaoke places that I've been to and this place is pretty high up in my favorite karaoke bars. The system was up to date and I love the sound/beat pad, we had so much fun here. The prices for the room were reasonable and the drink prices are really cheap, it's honestly the cheapest soju prices I've seen at any bar ($10). Don't believe the hype. It's really not that happy. OK fine it's fairly happy. I had one very special very fun night here some time ago and I have to say I love this place. Yes their equipments aren't the best and the whole microphone condoms thing as a professional singer is just stupid (lollll) but I absolutely love this place and there's so much fun to be had down here. A word about the condoms though. Germophobes beware. We get strong and have longevity because of exposure to germs, to bacteria, to each other, to the world. If you shut yourself away or sanitize yourself, your food, your surroundings to the degree that little to no bacteria exists, your immune system is likely to be weak and hopeless when it actually is needed. Not only that, but all of the crazy carcinogenic chemicals we use, half of which we don't even understand (yet) are carcinogens, are far, far more harmful and dangerous than the germs we're trying to kill. We had a reservation and we came down as a group and right off the bat this girl named pop off on us and was going on about how we can't go in without a reservation and acted like we're not worth her time. The rooms were clean, the song choices were abundant. My friends and I went a little over two hours, but they did not charge us extra. It was $20/hour for 4 people and there was a $5 tax. To say I've been anything less than happy at Happy Karaoke would be a flat out lie. I've had the best of times at this basement level, semi-underground Flushing KTown spot. Noraebang / KTV is serious business in these parts and Happy Karaoke has yet to fail me whenever I'm in late night singing mode along Northern Blvd. Typically, I tend to avoid Ziller (Korean system often found in KTown karaoke establishments), but their system is top notch and offers a lot of current music, but only in the back of every book. The rooms aren't the most spacious, so be weary of bringing a giant group. Other pluses include the in room ventilation, a stellar sound system, and spotless bathrooms. Big ups to the mic condoms (aka covers). The name might trigger off a cheesy feel, but the decor is anything but. Contemporary, modern, comfortable, and clean are ways to describe their lovely interior. The front area is more loungey (and has a TV playing sports) and the private rooms vary from small to semi large groups. Parking is available out front and the place is always open till 5am *every night.* Perhaps the biggest plus has been their excellent service. The super friendly owner and staff have gone above and beyond to keeping their customers happy, something I can always commend in any establishment, karaoke or not. They are accommodating for tardy groups, tend to offer barbacks, and are generous with food deals (freebies are not uncommon) combined with bottle service. If you're tired of the Main Street karaoke scene, make it a point to venture over to Northern Blvd and put on your happy face for the many gems throughout the area - this certainly is one of them. read more

Always my favorite go to karaoke place. You can get a room for $50 an hour and there's usually always a room available. My group went on a Friday night with no reservations and we were able to get a room. The experience doesn't stop there, once you are in the room there's a interactive sound board and some instruments for your enjoyment. The only knock off is that the whole system is in Korean, so if you can't read Korean definitely watch a lot of kdramas with Korean subtitles to learn. read more

They have a fairly big menu so sometimes, I enjoy that I can sing and have dinner without separating those two activities. Everything about this KTV is 5 stars. You got the extremely friendly owner, who has you feeling comfortable at "hello." His moving LED name tag just makes him that much more awesome. He is assisted by extremely good looking staff who resemble members of Big Bang. This is a Korean KTV so machines are remote control operated by typing in numbers corresponding to songs from a big-ass book. Alternatively you can use an on-screen search, which is actually extremely handy. The only downside is that everyone in the room can see what song you're picking since the menu pops up on the TV itself (but doesn't cover the lyrics so it doesn't hinder the singer.) The songs are very updated. They have all the recent HOT 100 and their respective albums. However you won't be able to find less popular songs (they don't have The Postal Service noOoO) Broadway and Disney... minimum. Their Chinese song book covers all the songs from my parents times to the wack crap kids listen to nowadays. I would guess Helena missed out on asking for the Chinese book and relied on a few listed Chinese songs in the Korean book. I find their song collection to be more than adequate. side rant: Why do all popular singers now sing in this Taiwanese accented mandarin. It sounds like crap! Everything is so clean. Rooms are big. Happy Karaoke is pretty much one of the best names I've ever seen for a karaoke joint. I mean have you ever been sad during karaoke? (if so, then you should get that checked out). So I happily came here a few weeks ago for some after a Yelp Elite event hosted nearby for some happy karaoke-ness! One of the folks in our group could sing RIDICULOUSLY well (Alicia Keyes better watch her back) and the rest of us went from okay to dying cat in the rain having it's eyes clawed out (that was prob me, lol). Insanely cheap prices aside, Happy Karaoke has a really great selection of English, Japanese and Koreal hits. They've got all the traditional pop hits we all know and love, plus some more random songs that can still lend themselves to providing an awesome sing-a-long experience. The private room we took over was super clean, spacious, well ventilated and really fun with awesome lighting and a karaoke machine set up that provided us with a little over 2 hours of joyful love scenes and ridiculous cinematography. I've got nothing but love for this place and would totally live here is it wasn't for the MTA making it so hard to get here. My favorite karaoke spot in New York! That's saying a lot since there're tons of competition on Northern, several within walking distance. And the karaoke joints in Manhattan cannot even begin to compare! K-town? You've got nothing on Flushing, son. This clean, friendly establishment has some of the most updated songs; just flip to the back of the book for the latest hits. You can also search them using the remote, though it is all in Korean. The microphones are cordless so it's no longer necessary to maneuver the long wires as you pass the mic from person to person when their song comes up. Also, love the sanitary mic covers! There is a pretty decent selection of food if you're in the mood to eat while singing. I usually stick to the dried fish or fruit platter. Beer, soju, hard liquor is available as well, and they also have some packages. Most recently, came for a friend's birthday and we ordered a bottle. The super generous staff gave us soda, water, beers and fruit as service! We sang and drank and noshed to our hearts' content until the wee hours of the morning, and it only came out to about $40 per person. Doesn't get any better than that. The only negative thing is that sometimes their bathroom could be cleaner. For some reason, there's always 'water' on the ground surrounding the toilets and toilet paper on the floor. I'm reading reviews from guys that the bathroom is clean, so it may just be that girls are slobs. Probably the only karaoke place I go. I came here for my birthday as 2 on a Saturday night and my party was put in a room right away. We ordered a bunch of drinks including a beer tower. We also nrbed for 2? Hours and along with the drinks the price was very reasonable. If we ever needed anything they provided it very quickly. Great karaoke spot for those late nights. They're not only super affordable but also attentive service, clean abundant space, & good selection of songs. Probably came here around 2 am and left at 6 am without even realizing. They give you Korean sodas with the beer deal and also shrimp chips. I think out of all karaoke places, this has got to be one of my favorites! I've heard a lot of rumors that the owners are mean to non-Koreans, but I can't really say for sure. I came on several occasions with different groups of people, but they were always kind and hospitable. Although, being a Korean person, maybe that played a part? The service was patient with our choices and led us through working the machine. The quality of the music itself was great, and although the rooms weren't sound proof- it was just sound resistant enough that we could hear the muffled sounds of our next door neighbors screaming. If anything, it was a comfortable kind of background sound. They have an impressive song collection in a variety of languages, and their dishes weren't half bad. My friend and I came here for karaoke after seeing the reviews for the place. When we walked in, they told us that it would $30 for an hour. We were okay with that, and told them that we would only stay for an hour. The room we were given was gorgeous. It was clean and modern. We did have some trouble working the remote since it was in Korean; however, the employee at the front desk explained it to us. After a while we were wondering why we were there for so long. We then looked at the time in shock. It had almost been two hours. We expected the employees to at least tell us that our hour is up since other karaoke lounges do. Love the environment here. Everything is so happy (hence the NRB spot name Happy).
