Their rooms are definitely nicer than most karaoke places I've been to and the songs and MV are almost all superior in terms of quality, sound, system compared to other karaokes. They have plenty of rooms ranging in different sizes. Their happy packages are probably their best offers and semi-worth the money. However, their staff is always unwelcoming and very dull. I would give this place 3 stars, 3.5 stars if I could. I don't go to karaoke often, and it was my first time coming to Happy (Friday, June 19, 2015). My friend has been to Happy three times before, so I was psyched because he said it was a pretty good karaoke place. My friends and I came in a bit after 2 PM and we were put into a room which reeked of cigarettes. It wasn't a strong pungent smell, but it was there and filled our nostrils upon entering.. The song selection was okay; they had a bunch of Korean songs and a handful of English songs. However, the songs aren't that recent; I'd say they haven't updated since 2013. To me, song selection is extremely important and the songs didn't do justice. Singing loudly made us hungry, so we decided to order fries. The order of fries was a whopping $10 (I could've bought two halal meals that could've filled me for the week..) Most food options were around $10, and the fries were a decent amount (but I'm still obviously upset about the price.) We spent a total of 4 hours there and I had a good time (because karaoke, duh.) The total came out to be $60 (because fries..) What would make it a better experience are a bigger selection of songs and maybe a scented candle IN the karaoke rooms (there were candles outside in the lobby but not in the rooms..? Korean karaoke. Came here because other places were booked! at 4 on Monday night.. It was $25/hour. Before 8pm is happy hour price. There was only 1 guy there not sure if he understand that much English or just don't really want to answer question. Anyway, remote is in Korean, then I asked to explain to us and he gave us another remotes with English labels. It's really not that hard to use the remote. Anyway, unlike Chinese karaoke places, you don't get free food. We got 2 sojus, mango I think? it's $48 and they came with shrimp chips. Soju wasn't strong at all. Not bad selection of songs. Many English songs. It got hot and I asked for AC and he turned it on right away. Stayed for 4 hours. With 2 sojus and 12 bottles of water and a few beers I think? Not sure as my friend got them. They have telephones inside all the karaoke rooms so you can order your booze without leaving the room Ambiance- Dark. It's a freaking karaoke Out of all the karaoke's in Flushing (and yes there's quite a few), this is one of the better spots. Not overly priced, always up-to-date songs (only korean songs here, sorry the american song list doesn't really grow as much) Rooms are always clean. Nice leather couches. For the smokers out there, it's an unwritten rule but you can technically smoke inside the room. You rarely have to wait here, maybe 15-20 mins tops since they have about 20 or so rooms. If theres a wait go outside, take two steps and check out the Kan or Prince2 for a quick drink. They will text you when your room is ready. read more

Came in on a Sunday around 5PM and immediately got a room. The room was HUGE compared to Karaoke places in the city. Seats were spacious and could accommodate minimum 8-10 people. We got 2 microphones with cute, hygienic covers. Room had two tambourines that light up win ever tap. Two binders full of songs in various languages, and two remotes that were very easy to use. The front desk had an entire wardrobe of costumes to rent and take silly pictures in! Price is good: $30/hour for up to 4 people. Additional $5 per person per hour once exceeding 4 people. A group of old high school friends and I were looking for a place to book a private Karaoke room for a little reunion party, and came across Happy Karaoke. The highlights: - Despite its basement location, the interior was modern and bright with an upscale feel. The room itself was large and clean, with a comfortable leather sofa with seating for everyone and a granite table for our drinks. - The sound system was great, and the karaoke was hooked up to a big screen TV in the front of the room. There were two mics that worked very well, and even lights that flashed in time with the music, making "performing" our songs even more fun. - Perhaps best of all, the staff was VERY friendly and accommodating. All of our beers came in big ice buckets. They even brought more chairs into our room when several more of our friends showed up later in the evening. The service alone was enough to bring us back to this place again in the future. A couple of "constructive" points that perhaps they can look into: - They had a great selection of literally thousands of songs in English, but several of my karaoke "standbys" were surprisingly not in the book. I realize I gave it such high marks last time because my party and I arrived so early.... we were too early in the evening for Happy Karaoke's true face to show. Come after 10pm and the rooms will smell of cigarette smoke and feet. The couches, table tops, song books and pretty much everything that has some sort of surface will feel some combination of grimy, greasy, sticky, crumbly, moist- basically, id have more faith in a NYC sidewalk being cleaner than there. The Chinese song selections remain dismally poor. The price remains competitive. The bathroom remains reasonably clean. Go early if you value your lungs being cigarette-free and mind cleanliness to any degree. However, this sort of grossness is very typical, so 3 stars it is! read more

GREAT room/lights/sound system, GREAT prices (a far cry from the typical $8/person/hr you have to pay in Manhattan), and good service. My only complaint about this place is that they don't pay for the full English song collection which I have seen at other joints with Korean machines. But, we managed. The machine is very new and even has a feature where you can see sheet music for the song you're singing, so even if you don't know the song, you have a chance of being able to sight-read it. I called earlier in the day to see if I can reserve and upon calling the worker said no wait just come on in. When My boyfriend and I got there they barely acknowledged us and abruptly told us we would have to wait 30 minutes in the cold, reasons why I called beforehand in covid times. We waited 30 mins came back they just pointed to the thermostat for our temperature no package was given. The customer service was very poor, the two men in the front were very short so after entering our personal information we was rushed to a room, no instructions on how to work the karaoke machine and everything was in a different language, I had to call the worker on the phone dialing 0 for him to show us...just unacceptable. The positives were the room was clean, that's it! it was hard to find songs and when entering them it would take so long for them to add in the queue it was hard to get in a groove and bang bang The door knocks and at 10:45 told us they were closing. My boyfriend and I made the most out of it but I won't be back it was over $150 the wings were fried too hard and the fries were cold. Drink was watered down. Located in a busy area of Northern Blvd, this definitely is a new favorite place to sing my heart out. Their sign is written in Korean but you can easily spot a happy face from the street and you are close to be happier. We took package 3 for a group of 9. They have variety of old and new English songs. We all sang, danced and let the time fly and realized that we were closed to our two hours mark. We all did shots, chug and swallowed all the fruits in a minute. Ahhhhh what a carefree night Happy had provided. Love this karaoke place!! Not many karaoke places have such great customer service as Happy Karaoke. They remember returning customers and give a big welcoming on each return. They also give complimentary drinks for those returning customers. The interior is beautiful and the whole ambiance is cool for nighttime. Facilities are clean and tidy as well. I can see why people give them 5 stars (great service). They are so attentive and friendly that it's weird/funny to me. I guess that's the only way I can explain it. I have a few other thoughts/comments/issues though, and I'll probably be between 3 and 4 stars before the end of this review. - If you don't speak Korean, first make sure you swap out for English remotes. But even with that, the display and text on screen is still in Korean. - I would say 90% of songs we picked didn't have a vocal track. I prefer to hear my own voice but come on... - The vocal tracks were not great renditions of the originals when they were there - i don't remember seeing any original music videos - On a positive note, their mics function very well which is not always the case - Also, the pitch/key changing works incredibly well - there's 3 screens but with all the same/cloned display (most places let you use one screen to choose songs and the other for karaoke). If you try to pick songs, it takes up 75% of the screen (that people are trying to use to sing). Also, you lose the element of surprise when you try to sneak in a little bit of Thong Song - Their RESERVE songs function plain sucks. You can queue pages and pages of songs but you can't skip around or re-arrange song order at all. This means you are very likely to get a chunk of like 5 Backstreet Boys songs in a row - please fix! - the backwall and spotlights change color to the music... cool. - song selection is ALL RIGHT. I've definitely seen better. Can't say that I've been to places with MUCH worse. Also, they need to pay attention more to cleaning their bathrooms (very nice bathroom but some of the things i could describe do not belong on a predominantly food-related website). 3 star establishment with 5 star service. read more

This place was definitely nicer than I thought. From the outside, it looked a bit small, but once you walk down the stairs, it's so roomy and there's plenty of space. I like the rooms and the way they're lighted. There's also fun little instruments to play with is you're bored of singing. Definitely appreciated the half-off price for the rooms if you go before a certain time. Didn't try any of the drinks or food so I can't comment on that. The song list could be a bit more updated though. I was having a hard time finding songs that came out recently. When did the staff start being so rude? Last time I actually went was in like, October-- this worker was super nice and gave me and my friend an extra 30 minutes because room prices were steep. This place used to be my favorite, but now it's just like every other Korean karaoke on northern. The next time I went, I didn't even go into a room after like, asking about room prices because the guy working there was grilling me. Maybe daytime employees are nicer or something. Nighttime in Flushing is so ratchet whatever. Also, it's so grimy now. The women's bathroom was flooded and nasty. But the rooms are clean, and I think they have the same prices as other nearby Korean karaoke (seriously, Korean karaoke and Chinese karaoke are different... I go to both often, and I see some reviews from people expecting the same system/song list but like you're not getting that). The songs are updated, and the deal is great for large groups. But I don't know. I'll probably have to go again because I can't base everything on one day. read more

!!!!!!!!!!! THIS PLACE IS AMAZING !!!!!!!!!! There is no mistake as to why this place only has 4 and 5 stars. I was a little suspicious at first that they did not have any ratings under 4 stars, but I can honestly tell you that they earned every single one of those stars.The place is well furnished in a way that you can go casual or dressed up. The rooms are big and spacious. The speaker system for the music is amazing. The music comes out clear and has good base. The lighting system in the room flashes in time to the music so it seems like you have a real live performance. The music system is really easy to operate. The service there was one of the best I ever had, the people there was nice, friendly and completely professional. They are also very accommodating. I had a wonderful time there. The drinks and food is cheap, and the serving sizes for an item is enough for two people to eat. The Music selection was good. It's a Korean Karaoke spot so its understandable that most of their songs are Korean, but they also had a good selection of English songs that are very popular and up to date. I COMPLETELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. Whether its your first time or your 50th time. This place is worth visiting. Do not get discouraged because it is an underground venue. It is still awesome. I would totally go there again, and again. P.S. Don't put to much though into the people commenting bad because some of the songs don't have videos to go with it. I was recommended to come here by a friend for my wedding after party and boy did I regret it. I called a week in advance and asked about the packages I saw on the website and general room rates and they told me we can discuss it when I come in the day I reserved the room for. Most karaoke places in flushing have alcohol and food included in the price you pay for the room and this does not apply to this karaoke place. I arrived with a large party around 7pm and a few of us had questions about their alcohol packages. The worker kept saying he was new and that he had no idea, had to wait until his coworker came in at 8 to serve us alcohol. We were going by their menu and just tried to select a package but He seemed nervous and kept telling us to wait an hour until a more experienced worker came in. Worked came in at 8, gave us the package we asked for without discussing that each extra person in the room was going to be an additional $10, even though most with girls and didn't even touch the strong liquor that was chosen. We ended up getting an additional package and thought that would be good to accommodate 4 hours. Upon trying to leave we asked about the bill and he said he had to calculate and could not give us an estimate. Around 20 minutes later he gave us the quote for two packages we ordered being $750, and that it is only for 3 hours, not even four hours. I thought that was a ridiculous quote and he said we should have read the fine print about extra guests. I told him we waited an hour for him to arrive and tried to ask questions but were frustrated but kindly dealt with the first worker who was unable to even serve us water. He then continued to condescend us saying what did we expect and that we had a lot of guests so they had to charge an extra $10 per person an hour even though they didn't drink. Most ktv places I have been to give you a extremely good rate and comp you drinks for having large groups and trust me, we were the only group there on a Sunday night. We tried to plea with the person explaining we were unaware of the additional fees and had we known, we would have chose something different. He said he could drop it down $100 but still charged us $50 on tax so we really wouldn't be saving much. He continued to say we should have Known better and I told him we weren't sure that's why we waited for him considering we were the only group there and were not a disruptive bunch. He then said he could just take that discount away and it seemed threatening. We weren't raising our voice at him and we were actually very polite considering we wasted the first hour waiting for his service. I asked to speak to a manager and he said there are only part time workers. I ended up charging on the credit card and he then said are you too cheap to use the ATM to get a further discount (remove tax)??? The guests from the after party started coming out at the point and I just wanted to get the hell out of that place at that point. I consider myself a nice and reasonable person and we weren't rude or obnoxious to this worker. We weren't even rude to the first worker who knew nothing and kindly continued to wait for service from the second worker. I told the person who recommended me, Andy, That I would never come here again. Andy then told me it was extremely weird they didn't offer me the happy hour package since he thought that would be perfect for me based on the timing of the event. I made a Yelp account just to express how disappointed I am with this place. We don't feel that the prices were listed clearly. The signs we saw were in Korean, and did not. in our opinion, clearly portray the prices. Staff was enormously rude and tore our garbage bags open in order to check for outside alcohol and to enforce anti-BYOB policies. We didn't feel that the staff at the front desk spoke an adequate level of english to talk about the pricing, so in our opinion, negotiation was stifled. The two employees at the front desk did not allow us to speak to their manager. Overall, we felt that we were over-charged for absurd reasons. This business does not seem to be doing well. Good vibes, nice service, spacious rooms! It's located downstairs on northern where they have plenty of rooms to sing as loudly and horribly as you can. Who doesn't like that? Service is prompt, just dial 0. The only problem is getting the remote to work because it's literally all in korean. So if you come here MAKE SURE you ask them how to work the dam thing or else you'll sit there for 15 minutes trying to queue up and change songs while the strobe lights are on and everyone looking clueless. They don't have back up music so it's straight up karaoke. If you come with a group that are shy to sing then you should try another place, if you don't care then come here. Recommended. read more

First time I came here, had a good experience. Came here on a Sunday night after 8PM, stayed for 2 hours and the total bill was $60 for my friend and I. We got a pretty big room for the two of us but it smelled of smoke, which lingered on our clothes after leaving. They don't really have prices posted anywhere, so it's pretty much whatever they tell you at the end of the session. And if you pay with card, they charge you extra... for what? I'm not sure. Second time I came here, not the best experience. I came with four friends and they placed us in a really small room. When we asked for a slightly bigger room, the worker stated that it was the biggest room they had- which wasn't true cause we had all been there before and had seen the bigger rooms. We didn't push it but it didn't make sense to lie to repeating customers. Midway through the time there, the room got really hot and we asked the staff if he could turn on the AC or fan for us. He gave an (unnecessary) attitude about it but still turned it on for us. We were charged about $70+ for one hour that night. I don't know if they charge by the hour, or by the person- so if you're on a budget, ask beforehand how much they'll be charging you. And we were also charged a little more for the use of a card, instead of cash. So I recommend having cash before going to this spot. Overall the place is good for cleanliness and up-to-date music selection. But the staff is a 1/5. I just didn't understand why they couldn't just move us to a bigger room since we had 5 people, and the place was empty at the time (all room doors were open). I love coming to this place for karaoke! They have a godo variety of American songs and Kpop so best of both worlds. The rooms are always super party friendly with all the cute disco lights. They are very sanitary and keep the spaces clean and provide mic masks. I also like how easy it is to use the equipment for adjusting the sound and add effects! They have food and drinks and the portion is pretty good. The price is amazing, especially with more people which always makes karaoke much more fun! They also have tamborines that light up and mic stands for us divas and hype up the experience of course! It's a sweet find in Northern and no reservation necessary, just walk in and there are usually rooms avaliable! The staff is nice and very helpful! These people are rude. I went here yesterday with a group of friends. After two hrs (35 dollars per hr) and 4 drinks, 2 beers for 12 And two drinks that were 24 for both, the guy at the front managed to charge us 150. After I told him why he laughed and lowered it to 120. Then he said it was 129 for everything. I asked was that with tip? He said no. He then told me that because I was paying with card, everything was going to be 140. This guy assumed we were drunk. And before leaving he asked for tip!!! I'm never coming back here AGAIN!
