I love throwing parties, I have thrown several since moving into this house, and I actually am one of those people that loves all of the work that goes into planning and executing parties. I have cooked, by myself, for as many as 80 people before, but this time - I just wanted to be taken care of for once, instead of being the host that's taking care of everyone else. I knew about Swig because I followed them on Instagram, and decided to contact Sara and talk to her about my event. It was a smaller event - about 40 people total - and I had it catered (first time not providing all the food myself!), so I really just wanted someone to stay on top of cleanliness and food and drink replenishment. Sara assured me that this is exactly what Swig is there for, so we decided to hire just one server to assist with our party. Angelique arrived on time (in fact I think she was a little early!) and immediately felt like a member of my family. She was so sweet and friendly, right off the bat. She got right to work and did everything I asked of her (and more) - she assisted with setting up the food when the caterer arrived while I ran around and took care of some last minute details and greeted my guests as they arrived. This also freed me up to have some family photos taken with my photographer before the event, which was awesome! Throughout the night she checked with me several times to see if there was anything I needed from her, but honestly, I couldn't think of anything more than she was already doing! She was on the ball, all night. She made sure the food and drinks were replenished when needed, and the tables were cleaned throughout the night. She even went into my house and did some dishes in my sink (not even party dishes!!) and grabbed some containers to pack up the leftover food. This was an amazing detail that I always seem to forget when I throw my own parties, and wait too long and end up having to toss the food. Thanks to Angelique, we have leftovers for days and I am very excited about the tacos I'll be eating for dinner tonight! By the end of the night, I looked around and the whole barn looked exactly as it had when I was setting it up and decorating hours earlier - like a party had not even taken place yet. Every surface was clean, there was nothing spilled anywhere, and all the trash was taken care of. Several of my guests remarked to me on how friendly she was, and what an amazing job she did as well. Hiring Swig was hands-down the BEST money I spent for this party, and I would hire them again without hesitation. In fact, I may never do my own party again, as long as Swig is around! It was SO nice to be able to relax, eat, and socialize with my friends and family on such a special day, instead of having to make sure we didn't run out of tortilla chips or water bottles. I found the woman rude and there's no way I would ever do business with them in the future. I told her I was going to leave a review to make others aware and she said, "Oh, now you're threatening me?" If they find sharing the truth a threat, they should change this greedy policy, because I'm only posting the truth!!! Unfortunately, his unit was disbanded in Colorado and he was called to duty. With 2 1/2 months' notice, (3mo you get a full refund) we had no choice but to cancel. Despite that, J. Scott Catering refused to return a single penny of our over $8,000 deposit! Venue was to be The Old Mill in Rose Valley. As business owners ourselves, we understand contracts, deposits, and the need for companies to protect themselves. But there is a difference between being fair and being exorbitant. Retaining more than $8,000 under these circumstances -- when military orders forced a cancellation -- is not only unreasonable, it shows a complete lack of compassion for service members and their families. The General Manager expressed sympathy in an email, mentioning her own son is in the Air Force, but the decision made was anything but sympathetic. Words are empty when the actions don't match. Our family has always supported small businesses and honored our obligations, but this experience left us deeply disappointed. Military families already sacrifice enough; no family should lose thousands of dollars to a vendor unwilling to extend even a measure of understanding.

I worked with Megan Freeman of J.Scott Catering and she was amazing. She was very responsive and easy to work with. She helped me with all of the million questions I had and was always patient and accommodating with me. I had delivered a truck load of decorations on our rehearsal day and left explicit instructions on how everything should be displayed and her and her team did a wonderful job executing those. The venue looked absolutely immaculate and beautiful the day of my wedding. She ran the ceremony very smoothly and the entire day went down without a single hitch. If I had to find one single thing to complain about, I couldn't. Now, the food! The food was amazing! All of it! We had 6 butlered hors d'oeuvres and a macaroni and cheese station. We served the pan seared crab cake and the filet as our meal options and the butternut squash risotto as the vegetarian option. I didn't even get a chance to say hello to some of my guests because I was so focused on the opportunity to eat the food, and it did NOT disappoint. Our guests have not stopped buzzing about the food, more specifically the macaroni and cheese station and the mini California burgers. I have had guests tell me the crab cakes were unreal and the steak was amazing. She even worked with us on the steak because J.Scott traditional serves their steak rare and we had requested it be prepared medium, and it was prepared perfectly medium and every guest was thrilled with it. We also offered 2 different signature drinks, which everyone is also buzzing about. Our guest favorite seems to be the donuts from the donut wall. So many people have commented on that and asked about the donuts, and asked where they can buy some. Several guests have told me it was either the nicest, the most fun, or just plain "the best" wedding they had ever been to. Our videographer told us our wedding was their favorite that they have been to this year. All of that is because of Megan, her team, and J.Scott Catering in general. I would recommend them to anyone. I didn't leave because I was quietly minding my own business. He made the staff for Black Horse Tavern call because he knows that he does not have the right to ask me to leave. The bartender called the police even though I had done nothing wrong. A long time ago, Luke punched someone in the face at the VFW in Lansdale. He is showing himself to be unstable and potentially violent.
