I wanted to send the owners / managers of Cathy's Critter Service a huge THANK YOU for recommending…read moreMichelle as my dog sitter for this past weekend, she was so sweet, patient, caring with my three dogs. I've never used a pet sitter before and was a little nervous as to how my dogs would react and also worried about letting someone in my home that I didn't know and Michelle, meet with me, & found her to be so nice and really easy to talk with. We discussed the dog's routine, and my concerns etc. For anyone reading this, my three dogs are medium size, mixed breed and not very social, in fact really can't stand anyone except for my family, however Michelle sang to them, worked with calming their nerves, petting them, of course giving them treats to win them over - THANK YOU MICHELLE YOU ARE TRULY A GIFT AND CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR HOW KIND AND SWEET YOU WERE TO MY FUR BABIES. ****I read each text she sent me to my family and they were all so impressed and surprised how the dogs were behaving. My family that lives out of San Antonio are also pet owners and want me to see if you have recommendations or sitters in other cities or if Michelle will travel*****. ****During our initial visit we discussed our love of plants, and upon receiving my visit update pictures and text of the dogs Michell mention she watered my plants for me......HOW INCREDIBLE NICE - I DIDN'T ASK FOR THIS EXTRA SERVICE, HOWEVER IT'S THESE LITTLE THINGS THAT MAKE SUCH A HUGE DIFFERENCE! AGAIN MICHELLE AND CATHY'S CRITTER SERVICE - I'M A LOYAL CUSTOMER MOVING FORWARD IN FACT I'M GOING TO BE REACH OUT TO YOU THIS WEEK FOR ANOTHER BOOKING. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Nancy Flores

Red Barn Kennels - Worf playing outside having fun

We just moved to San Antonio and had been looking for a place to board our 2 dogs. Their former…read moreboarder before we moved was on a ranch, with plenty of space for them to run around and even other types of animals like horses and pigs. So, I was ecstatic when I found Red Barn! It's exactly what they're used to. They have a good sized property in Bulverde, with plenty of space for the dogs to run around, shaded space outside, indoor air conditioned kennels, and even some pigs and llamas. Communication with Lisa was great, and it was easy to get them scheduled and get their vaccination records submitted via email. Lisa checked in with us midway through our trip and sent photos of the dogs playing. As with all good boarders, you should book as far in advance as possible. I was able to get them in with 9 days notice the first time, which was awesome. The next time they were booked for a weekend 3ish weeks out. I'm so relieved to have found a place I feel comfortable taking our dogs when we're traveling.

She is very personable, and will do everything she can to accommodate you and your pet. Her prices are more than reasonable. Her team also seemed very nice and seemed that they really care about my dog. They took care of my dog for a weekend, and gave her a bath. She smelled so clean. Your pets will have access to grass and space to stretch their legs here. To me that is very important.

From the first phone call, to the same day evaluation they worked my dogs in for, to the tour they gave me when I picked them up from the evaluation...I was very impressed. I booked their 5 night stay and knew they would be in good hands. I picked up two happy, exhausted (from daily play time) dogs following their stay at the Ranch. The staff was very friendly and seemed sad that Karli and Shiloh were leaving, which made me feel good about the time they spent there, knowing they were interacting with the staff often enough to know their names after their friest visit. I also appreciated receiving their daily report card upon check out. In DC where I recently moved from, playtime is as an extra expense, but is included here. I enjoyed the video cameras in the play pen/yard so I could check up on them and see they were OK. I also appreciated that they received a bath the morning I picked them up. My two girls will be going back to Pawderosa for boarding and probably some for day care days here and there. Thanks for a great experience from a doggie mom new to the area.

When my husband came home with Amelia I was told this. I then called and was told ¨Oh yeah she had a couple treats and because YOU bring food that needs to be kept cool we forgot to feed her¨ For three years we have fed her Fresh Pet when we bring her to day care. This totally throws off her feeding for the day. She cannot eat after 7:00pm for she takes Oral Vet for dental and cannot eat after taking this. I was also told ¨well our Mang. knows this¨ Next day care day I told them she is going for free since YOU did NOT provide her basic needs.

First I have to say that there is great staff at this location. Not only do they seem like they…read morereally like dogs but they are great with us humans as well. I have a unique circumstance where my son plays football for UTSA and travels every weekend even for home games. He has two dogs who needed to board while he is away. Lucy's has gives wonderful customer service in that we have had several unique situations to work around and they found solutions when I didn't even know what to do. I love the play areas with water features and yes I'm a video watching junkie on the web cams. It's fun to watch the pups play and the staff is attentive to those that get a little rowdy by just using their body to walk between in a calm manner. I see staff giving a pet or hug or engaging them in some play. There can be a lot of dogs in there and I haven't seen a real scuffle yet. They do a great job monitoring and intervening before any pup gets to rowdy. Prices are decent and multiple dog as well as police, fire, and military discounts. Our pups come home fed and socialized and are happy when we take them to drop off. Traveling Tails vet is next door and has been super helpful in a pinch when we needed a booster shot. We will be having our pups here for the season, Birds Up!

The facility is large, clean, and inviting, and its online customer service is outstanding…read more However, there were too many dogs, and I felt like the greeting and tour were rushed. I understand there is limited staff, and I realize they have to turn their attention to other customers and tasks, but I would have liked to watch our dog more through the back windows before committing to leaving her there for the day. I'm guessing there were between 70 and 100 dogs in the play area, and most seemed well-adjusted and content. However, it seemed a bit much, and I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving our dog there. She loves playing but could not connect with any specific dog and was overwhelmed by the many dogs showing interest in her. We watched for at most 10 minutes, and the whole time, she was looking to hide, running from the other dogs with her tail between her legs. The staff was present, monitoring behavior and cleaning up, so the issue for me is the number of dogs, not the staff. I asked if there was a maximum number of dogs they allowed, and without a yes or no, I was told the number of kennels they had, which was over 250. The kennels can hold more than one dog at a time, so it's feasible that 300 dogs could be there if all the kennels were full. The kennels are in a climate-controlled warehouse-type area with individual chain-link "suites" and the regular areas. The difference is a little more square footage, and a webcam comes with the suite. I'd summarize this place as the big box store of doggy daycares where you'll get everything you need, but not necessarily the best experience for the pet. This review is based on my personal experience. I am not seeking a refund, to be made whole again, or for changes to be made. It is simply informative.

When I first adopted my dog, he…read morestruggled with excessive barking, demand barking, and reactivity, and I felt overwhelmed trying to help him on my own. From day one, the Arfordable team was fully invested in his success. We started with a 6‑week 1:1 program, but day training ended up being a better fit for my schedule. After only a few sessions, his barking habits were significantly reduced. Even with how stubborn and difficult he was in the beginning, they never gave up on him. They gave me the confidence I needed to handle him in social settings and never once made me feel discouraged. Thanks to their guidance, patience, and consistency, he even earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen, something I never imagined would be possible when I first brought him home. Fast forward to today: he lives for Playcare. He adores his best buds and his favorite aunties, and the joy he has walking through their doors says everything. Arfordable goes above and beyond with their attention to detail between themed days, dog birthday parties, Secret Santa, and group outings. All the little touches that make this place feel like a second home. When we're out of town, I never worry. I know he's safe, loved, and cared for as if he were one of their own. Arfordable has played a huge role in shaping the dog he is today, and I'm endlessly grateful for the care, dedication, and heart they put into everything they do. Thank you, Arfordable, for loving my boy like family and giving him a place where he truly belongs.

I brought my 80 pound lab, Rudy, for Dog Training classes. I first enrolled him in the reactive…read moredog class Since he lunges and barks at other dogs, but basically leaves people alone. We took a six week class which I felt was helpful, but he did need some basic obedience and we enrolled in that class. They taught us how to train our dog to sit , stay, wait ,place as well as learning how to go to his designated space for down and settle. I felt the instructors were excellent. I can't remember all their names, but Fab was excellent. when Rudy graduated from his class, he got a certificate and had a graduation picture taken. Right now I feel that I need to work on these basics before I enroll him in intermediate class, but when he's ready, I will definitely go back.
