We can't find it. It's now named Da Shark Shack and definitely not a Filipino fusion restaurant

Found this place was open till 1 pm and they served pancakes. Nice, because the alternative would have been Denny's...no thanks! Nice little hole in the wall where you order at the window and they serve you your food at the table. I ordered the Seafood omelet and a side of Macadamia Nut Pancakes, wife ordered the Boneless Short Rib plate. My only gripe was the pancakes only came with maple syrup and not a macadamia sauce, which we had to buy separate. I was used to having the sauce come with the pancakes at a certain restaurant in Kailua, Oahu, so this was a bit unexpected. But the food was well prepared and tasty. It was really good! So good we came back the next day to have breakfast again. Only this time it was Adobo Fried Rice. We brought two plates for me and the wife which we soon regretted because my wife could not finish hers since the portions were really big. Should've have shared just one. Another place to add to our go to list to eat when we come back to visit Kona.

When you go in, you order at the cashier and they give you the food in To Go Containers whether you are going to eat in or out. I ordered the 808 Grindz Moco and it was delicious. 10/10 The Gravy was good and the rice too. They have soda cans for $2.50 each. I would return.

Service is upbeat and fast, they are friendly and are open to any questions that you may have. Ambiance is unique, as it feels like you are in a bustling city. I ordered the Chicken Curry Katsudon!!! It was crispy, flavorful, and filled with massive portions! In fact, I saved the rest to have for dinner later. I loved the fact that the curry had a nice spice kick to it too! Cheers!

The items are made to order so you get a bit more freshness than food sitting under a heat lamp. The rice is well cooked, but the batter is a bit heavy on the items, and one piece of chicken I bit into had a weird funk to it. The mac salad on the platter was good -- not too heavy with mayo and the noodles were cooked well. Similarly, I liked that the rice was not mushy and each grain stood on its own. Would I stop by again for a plate? Most likely not. One last nit-pick with Hawaii BBQ Deli is that the pricing is wildly incorrect. We looked at the menu online before stopping by and were surprised that we were charged a price higher than what was listed on the menu. We didn't question it and just paid the price, but it was a bit annoying that the menu in store on the counter was out-of-date and the price could have been entirely made up on the spot.

This is an unassuming spot located in the center of a little strip mall. However, once you enter,…read morethey actually have plenty of seating and were quite busy! We also came on a Friday evening, so it was nice to see of people here. The spot serves Hawaiian plate lunches, and it definitely did not disappoint. Portion sizes were huge, we probably had the best macaroni salad of our entire trip here, and flavors were super bold, but not overly salty. Pork Belly Fat Adobo (10/10) - this was fantastic! The meat was literally fall apart tender, and was able to retain its juiciness. Sometimes braised meat gets a little dry for me, but this place definitely does it right and preps some juicy pork. - the pork belly sauce mixed with the rice was probably one of my favorite things on this entire trip Spicy Garlic Furikake Chicken (8/10) - this was a huge plate! The fried chicken is super crispy and retains its crispiness on the outside for a while. It packs a very mild kick will not being overly salty or spicy. - to illustrate the crispiness, we were able to get our food to go, drive over to the beach, and while eating the chicken was still delicious and crisp Overall, a pretty unassuming spot from the outside, but as you can tell from the reviews of this place definitely hits the spot. Huge portion sizes, super crispy foods, and amazing flavors.

When we entered, we immediately joined the line at the order counter, which had about 10 people. We waited a bit so that we could claim a table. Vibe: Feels very mom and pop with large tables and plastic chairs. This is a great place to grab a quick bite. Food: - Garlic furikake chicken (8.5/10): We thought that this was the star of the three meats that we ordered! The glaze was a perfect blend of sweet and savory, complemented well by the furikake. The skin was the best part as it was incredibly crispy! The chicken meat itself was not dry per se, but we would've liked it to be a little juicier. - Pork belly fat adobo (8/10): I thought that the adobo flavor was authentic! The pork belly fat was rendered well, but I thought the lean part was a bit dry and we needed to dunk it into the adobo sauce. - Garlic butter shrimp (7/10): The shrimp were humongous and succulent, and the shells were not too difficult to peel away. The shrimps were also drenched in butter, but they could've used more flavor as all we can taste was the butter and a hint of garlic. - Kimchi cucumbers (9/10): These were super tangy and crunchy in a satisfying way, and the acidity of the kimchi sauce really punches you in the mouth! For drinks, there is also a selection of water bottles, canned soft drinks, and hawaiian juices to choose from.
