93' Til was a big vibe! This spot had been saved in one of my collections for a while so I was eager to be present for this elite event. After reading the email with the reminders and other info, I decided to arrive a little earlier to be able to find parking with ease. I parked in the parking lot and read my book until the event started. Upon entering there was a line formed and B was checking people in here and there. I ended up getting my badge scanned right before heading inside. One nice touch while standing in line was one of the staff members passing out cold water, thank you! The vibe in 93' Til has a hype, coffee shop, retro lounge kinda feel inside. That description makes sense in my head ha! Sampled a few items: *Chicken liver mousse with berry jam *Beet salad goat cheese citrus and cashews *Pork shoulder steaks w/Blood orange pico, hazelnuts and sunchokes *Chicken sandwich sliders *Fried fish with black garlic aioli *Carrot cake tres leches The chicken sandwich sliders were hands down my favorite; the fried fish with black garlic aioli coming in second! I had the Bee's Knees cocktail made with Pineapple Rosemary Infused Ford's Gin, Lemon, Local Honey and that thang was delicious!!! So incredibly refreshing. It was nice to catch up with old elite friends and meet new ones. I left a little early so I didn't get to try the dessert, but that's okay. What a cool event to celebrate HAPI! It's always nice to have an event at a place that I've been wanting to try. I didn't know anything about the restaurant or the history and significance of the name, but that's why we have these events right?! I loved the space. The playlist was amazing (as expected), the photo ops were cool, and I liked that they had vinyl for sale. I overheard a fellow Elite say that it reminded her of Off the Record. For me, it felt more on par with Vino & Vinyl in Sugar Land. At any rate, I appreciate a business that focuses on music and creates a chill vibe where you can hang out with friends and unwind from the day. I grabbed a table in the corner and was a little concerned that we may get passed over for food, but it was quite the opposite. The staff did a great job of making sure everyone in our area received food. At one point, one of the servers offered to take our drink orders so we didn't have to get up and go to the bar. There were a few times that the staff came by with the same food, but we didn't take any second servings because we have manners and aren't greedy. I tried the Verdita cocktail and it was really good and cucumber forward! I wanted to try the Bee's Knees, but they had run out. I sampled all of the food except for the Beets and Goat Cheese (I dislike both and didn't want to waste it). My favorite was the Pork Shoulder! It was very flavorful! I also enjoyed the Chicken Sandwich and Fried Fish. It was great to hear from Lung (owner) about the history of the restaurant and significance of the name (he immigrated to the US in 1993, and he's a huge fan of hip hop music). The audacity of this late review but here we are, nonetheless. I'm familiar with the Montrose area but I'd never noticed 93' Til so I was excited to attend this event. I got there around 6ish so I had no issue finding parking on the street. We got in line and had to wait a bit, which was not fun because it was super hot but I appreciated the waters they offered us as we waited. As soon as we got in, I grabbed a 4 seater and began to take in the scenery. The staff began coming around with drinks and light bites, so the organization of it all was very much appreciated. Not having people crowd the bar allowed for a much better experience because we got to sit down and just engage in convos. As for the drinks, I always appreciate when spaces offer mocktails, especially great ones. The mocktail we were offered were delicious and I had at least 3. As for the food, I couldn't eat most of what was offered but the fish was good and the beet salad would have been better if we had more greens on it. Overall, it was a good event and I appreciate any restaurant that open their doors to have us. read more

I had the opportunity to try 93 'Til at Feast with the Beasts a little over a week ago at the Houston Zoo and thought that bite was good. They didn't have it tonight, but I enjoyed most of the food. The ambiance is cool, along with the backstory. Very chill place in the neighborhood away from the usual hustle and bustle. The service was also great, and we were checked on regularly at our side. Food came out every 10-15 mins, I believe. The fluffy green juice mocktail was refreshing, and I liked the dehydrated pineapple and tajin on the rim. They ran out of it close to the end, so they brought me a lemonade. It was a little tart but good! Many thanks for an optional drink. Chicken liver mousse with berry jam - skipped that. I don't eat liver. Had foie gras once in Paris. I don't gravitate to it. Beet salad with goat cheese, citrus and cashews - I like beets, goat cheese and nuts. It wasn't the best beet salad I've had, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Chicken sandwich sliders - One of my faves. I loved the sweet bread and thought the chicken was so tender. The breading was crispy and seasoned well. I liked the coleslaw in it. Fried fish with black garlic aioli - I loved the tempura-battered catfish. This fish had flavor. I liked the thin carrots it came with. Pork shoulder steaks with blood orange pico, hazelnuts and sunchoke - The pork shoulder was thinly cut. Fat was rendered nicely. I thought the pico gave it great acid. Couldn't really taste much of the hazelnuts until the end. Small pieces. Carrot cake tres leches - I love carrot cake especially with cream cheese frosting. Not sure if it was the milk or what, but it kind of tasted like cardboard. Not so great. I would come back for the chicken sandwich sliders, fried catfish and the pork shoulder steaks. What a fun Wednesday night celebrating AAPI month! This was such a great event. Very well organized and service was flowing throughout the whole night. I love the ambience at 93 'Til. Very cozy but also has a good vibe. There were enough seats for everyone. I like that we could sit down and chill while the food comes out. Our server was very nice and friendly. My favorite items of the night were the chicken liver with berry jam. Pate was very smooth and had a nice texture. The pork shoulder steaks were tender. Probably my favorite of the night. The chicken sandwich sliders were a perfect size. The chicken had a bit too much batter for my taste. The fried fish with black garlic aioli was pretty good. I like the pickled carrots it came with. Long day, so I needed a little time away. I ordered an Uber, and I was relieved because the parking lot was tiny and a bit chaotic. Crossing the street to park wasn't on my bingo card that day. Notwithstanding, my driver was his own batch of crazy and almost sent us to the hospital a few times. Yowzers. 2 stars, wouldn't recommend. Regardless, I was so happy I missed standing in line for half an hour in the beautifully blazing hot Houston semi-summer sun. Apparently, there was quite some wait and people were dripping with sweat. Actually, heard the complaint from several Yelpers IRL, but it mysteriously didn't make it to the reviews. Lol. The selective outrage is WILD when it comes to certain establishments. Anyway...#WeMove. For the past 3 years, I've appreciated HAPI. There's usually an incredible list of businesses I would've never heard of had it not been for Jandoooo, the Yelp Houston team, their research, preferences, and vetting system. We STAN weeks filled with secret bites and hidden gems (at least to me!) When one of the owners came up to speak to us, I could instantly catch a whiff of his sincerity, humility, and joy. I always appreciate that in a business owner. His story was inspiring and the origin story of the name, '93 til, was admirable. The gentleman with the ~nifty mustache~ came to chat with our table a few times, and anyone who knows me knows the personal touch will always be a fav for me. The staff was super attentive, made sure we tried every item on the menu, checked if we needed more water, and were ON IT when it came to removing trash from our table. (Shout out to Chi for the cute location and saving me a seat!) Now...I will pretty much try any dish at least once (except snake, mice, cat, and dog) however, some of the flavor profiles, combinations, and visual appeal in these samples were off-putting to me. So...yeah, not a fan at all. Nevertheless, the chicken sandwich, that came out 4th, was juicy, thick, and flavorful. It was well-breaded and even that little citrusy and crunchy addition of the coleslaw was a hit for me. Everything worked well for a tasty bite. Another star was the mocktail. It was super yummy - refreshing, sweet, salty, and spicy with a heavy pour of ginger beer (the only carbonation I drink). I mean...what else could you want? Maybe more? Yes, I had three. Haha. I ended up leaving earlier than the majority and much earlier than I anticipated, because the spacing of the dishes exiting the kitchen was a bit of a nuisance. I didn't want to wait to see how many more were ahead. From the looks of it, I only missed tasting the pork belly and the dessert. I am ok with that! I would've been truly content with just the chicken sandwich and the mocktail the entire night. I felt bad because everyone lingered well past the time we were scheduled. While I was outside waiting on my Uber, many would-be customers dropped by and were turned away because of our event (even though the sign on the door said until 8:30 p.m.). I used that as an opportunity to socialize Yelp and Yelp Elite to anyone who seemed open to conversing. Some wanted to join, most were inquisitive, and others were just upset they drove there for nothing. Yikes. Side note: '93 til is a coffee bar in the morning and if I'm not mistaken the hours are from 6 a.m. to noon or 3 p.m. (omething like that). I like multi-use and multi-themed restaurants! I have visited 93 'Til before and enjoyed my time there. It provides an intimate vibey space to have a drink and listen to vinyl. If I lived in the neighborhood where it's located, I'd be a more frequent patron! I was happy to see this event to celebrate Houston Asian Pacific Islander (HAPI) Heritage. Things I loved: the chicken liver mousse with berry jam and the beet salad with goat cheese, citrus, and cashews, these were my absolute favorite bites of the night. I also loved that getting food was organized and there was no swarm to try a sample! What fell flat for me was the spacing of the samples, however I recognize that we are a large crowd. The staff at 93 'Til were kind, cool, calm, and collected. Megan circled around often. I was happy to see old friends and I didn't get to mingle as much but met one new Yelp friend (Hi Sofia!). What a great way to spend a hump day evening and celebrate HAPI month! I have heard lots of buzz about 93 'Til but never got around to trying it until now, thanks to the YEE. A great opportunity to learn about a local Asian-owned business in the area. Entry was efficient - the staff was kind enough to bring us waters as we waited outside. Jando informed us while in line NOT to crowd the bar upon entering, rather find a seat and the food and drinks will come to you. The drink situation was a bit confusing despite this however, as the bartenders had prepared drinks up for grabs from the bar at the beginning of the event. However as the event progressed, you could just go up to the bar and order whichever of the drinks from the event menu you desired. David behind the bar definitely kept the drinks flowing; big kudos to him and the other bartender working hard to take care of our crowd of Elites. For food, I tried the chicken liver mousse with berry jam, beet salad with goat cheese citrus and cashews, fried fish with black garlic aioli, chicken sandwich sliders, pork shoulder steaks with blood orange pico, hazelnuts, and sunchokes; and finally the carrot cake tres leches. My favorites of the night were the chicken sandwich sliders and the fried fish. The chicken in the sliders was cooked to perfection - super crispy with a juicy inside, just how I like 'em. The fried fish reminded me of Vietnamese ca rang muoi (salt & pepper fish), and also came out with a nice crunch. I'll definitely be ordering these on my next visit! For drinks, I tried the Bee's Knees, the Jack Bonded Old Fashioned, and the Verdita. The Bee's Knees didn't appeal to me, which I totally expected as I'm not a huge gin fan. The Old Fashioned was out of the park, however. After trying the Verdict, I was afraid the Old Fashioned might be on the sweeter side, but it was definitely boozier and ranked as my favorite drink of the night. Vibes were excellent throughout the night. Everyone was having a good time and we Elites all mingled amongst ourselves, happy to be celebrating HAPI with great food and drinks. I like the chill record bar vibe of 93 'Til, feels like a nice place to go have good conversation with a friend over great food and drinks. 93' Til let us kick it with them and it was a HAPI great time on a Wednesday! Thank you to Jando, Brittany, Yelp Houston and all the attentive and friendly team at 93' Til. Service goes a long way and 93'til went above and beyond. Without us even asking, as we were waiting in the Houston heat, they came out with water! It's the small details that go a long way and people (at least I do) remember. That alone really elevated my excited to see how the rest of the event was going to be if they're this mindful before you even step in the door. They did not disappoint. I like and always appreciate when an event is sit down style and the food is brought or served to us, this way EVERYONE is able to have a sample and avoid people being greedy and taking more than available before your other fellow Yelpers have a chance to sample. Food: 5/5 Everything that was offered, I can say I enjoyed. My callout favorites were: pork shoulder steaks and the chicken sandwich sliders. Drinks: 5/5 My favorite was the Bee's Knees - gin based. It was just the right amount of tart and sweet. I've had some from other places, but this one was well balanced. I did try to get another one, but they had ran out of it. The Jack Bonded Old Fashioned was ok, it wasn't too sweet, but also nothing noteworthy. There was some confusion between the Verdita & Fluffy Green Juice (one had tequila the other did not) it tasted refreshing but they are very similar in appearance and ingredients that we weren't sure if which one we were trying. Ambiance: 5/5 While parking is limited on the lot, you're in Montrose after all, there is street parking. I decided to Uber to avoid parking headaches. There is outdoor patio seating area and once inside you're transported to a cozy and inviting atmosphere with moderately dimmed lights, vinyl and simple layout. Service: 5/5 As mentioned above, the staff went above and beyond, they made sure that EVERYONE was being taken care of. I really enjoyed the elite night at 93 'Til. The restaurant, tucked in the middle of a neighborhood, is an unassuming spot where asian-inspired food, classic cocktails with a twist, and coffee, come together in a laid-back, yet refined setting. Vinyl records spin in the background, setting the tone for a relaxed meal, night time drinks (or coffee in the morning), and easy conversation. The event was structured such that each dish was prepared one at a time and served to guests every 15 minutes or so. While some guests may have viewed this as a bit slow, I really appreciated this approach. So often we are in a rush to do everything, the leisurely pace and dedicated time used to prepare each of the dishes was a good reminder to slow down and relax. My diet is a bit restricted so I did not sample all of the dishes but I really enjoyed the beet salad (minus the goat cheese) and all of the cocktails - bee's knees, jack bonded old fashioned, and Verdita. The pineapple rosemary hints in the bee's knees was an unexpected, pleasant surprise. Great event! Grateful for the opportunity to try a new spot and of course, participate with our elite program. read more

YEE for API month is off to a fantastic start! I love love love when we get to showcase different businesses and support their heritage in the community! This was such a fun cool vibe of event that I can get on with in the future. As we arrived we were lined up along the outdoor patio! We were handed out some cold water, it was a little toast out, so that was a nice touch to greet all the guests as we arrived before we entered. After being checked in and ushered in, the vibe felt like a cool cozy living room from the early 90s. The vibin music, the dim lighting and the eclectic furniture brought it all together to take you right back. There were a variety of beverages to try, I tried the bees knees, verdita, and old fashioned and I'd say the bees knees was my fave. It was light, refreshing and delightful! And anything in a coupe makes me happy! The staff were so sweet! I specially recall Megan being such a joy, with great banter and a comedic swagger about her as she passed around samples for us to try. All the staff, honestly, great big smiles, and so on it! Out of the food I got to try the beets, the chicken patté (not sure how you spell that!) and then the chicken slider and pork! The chicken slider was just crunch and juicy and season nicely, prob my fave dish of the evening. I feel like I was just at home and at ease in the space. It was such a relaxing evening getting to chat with everyone and enjoy the space and I love when there's a place you can go and feel like you're home when amongst staff and friends!! Being a big fan of 93 'Til I was excited when I saw that an HAPI Elite Event was taking place there. This was one of those events where you think you will need to eat before because it said that it will be a tasting, but when we arrived it exceeded my expectations. In terms of not only the service but the quality of the food and vibes, it was so great! They had three different cocktails and a mocktail for us to sample. And by sample, I mean full serving size. The bees knees and the old fashioned were the standouts. We got to try the chicken liver mousse, beet root salad, fried fish, the chicken sandwich, pork shoulder, and the carrot cake tres leches. My absolute favorite item of the night was the chicken sandwich followed by the beet salad. I can't comment on the pork dish because I don't eat pork. The fried fish bite was delish and crispy! The carrot cake tres leches was a great way to end the evening. Lung gave us a background on the concept and how the vinyl concept started with him and his buddy talking one day. I am a big fan of the restaurant but never really got to try all the different items before so would definitely like to come back. I think they did a great job highlighting all the different items. We got to try a variety of protein and different textures from beginning to end. It was probably one of the most cohesive presentations that a restaurant has offered at a Yelp elite event. The beets with the goat cheese foam with the citrus vinaigrette and the almonds was such an amazing dish that I will definitely be ordering that the next time I go. The chicken sandwich had such a nice crispy bite while having a nice juicy inside and the slaw really made for an excellent bite! When I heard about this event I was excited. I have been more than a couple of times, and enjoy it every time. Parking A known issue. Super small lot, but street parking around. If you can Uber, you're better off. It's located close to some walkable spots too, so you could crawl a bit. Service Fantastic! They brought water to the line as we waited for the doors to open. That was very kind. Check-in was a cinch, scan, line up, ane hang out. Done. The staff were very good roaming about with the food, serving at the tables and the such. The bar was hustling and kept up well with the crowd. Drinks The Jack Bonded Old Fashioned was my favorite, followed closely by the Bee's Knees. The Verdita was flavorful, but wasn't what I wanted that night. The barkeeps did a great job! Food I didn't catch any names, so I'll do my best to accurately label the food. The crustini was solid. I liked the flavors and texture. It was wee, so i could have had a few more. The beet salad was a surprisingly top rated item for me. I really liked it, again flavor was on point and texture was pleasing. The catfish was okay. I'm not critical on this one, I'm just not into catfish. I'll eat it, I won't order it. The chicken sandos were probably my favorite. They had crunch flavor and juice. Some heat would have made them spectacular. And I think the last item I had was a beef taco, or something similar. Cool event w/ great vibes Had 93 til bookmarked for a while now so a Yelp Elite event was the perfect time to try them out. Very small lot but was lucky to snag a spot right in front as friends came strolling in from drinks around the corner. You can also park on the street, there are no meters, so not a bad option. Really like the esthetic and vibe of the restaurant/bar. Perfectly dim with natural light pouring in from the big windows in the front. They set out mixed drinks for us to grab at our leisure. The Bees Knees with pineapple, gin and honey was a nice lil drink I wouldn't typically order but I did enjoy. You could also request and old fashioned from the bar as well. Pretty typical preparation but poured with Jack Daniels- solid drink as well. The bar tender was nice and accommodating and never seemed overwhelmed by the crowd. I didn't try all of the food but I did like the fried chicken sandwich as well as the fried catfish. Gimme some hot sauce and it would be perfect. All in all I enjoyed the event and the space. Okay first off I will never not rave about how astounding of a Community Manager Jando is. Seriously the man deserves endless flowers and I will endorse this notion until I'm blue in the face! The whole team actually! B was also super sweet and engaging and did her due diligence in interacting and making sure everyone is intermingled. I really love how the Houston Yelp Team creates a Yelp experience that really gives one a sense of community and feels engaging. Honestly to more accurately put it, like apart of a family. 93 til is the cutest little spot. Loved the decor. Loved the jams. Loved the setup (open concept with windows and outdoor/patio seating). 93 'Til why have I not come here sooner? I thought this was place was just a bar, but their food was surprisingly really good! Food: Chicken liver mousse was surprisingly tasty! I'm not a big pate fan usually, but I actually really liked this. The beet salad with goat cheese wasn't bad, but I'm not a beet fan in general. The fried catfish was great!! Good crunch, flavor, and the pickled veggies were a nice touch. The fried chicken sandwich!!! I'd come here for that sandwich alone! Popeyes who? Last, but not least the pork shoulder was really good too! Very tender and served on top of some kind of puree/mash. Drinks: I loved all of the cocktails! The Chicken liver mousse with berry jam was pleasantly delicious! Crunchy on the crostini and sweet with the jam. I'd order those for sure! The citrus beets were not my favorite but that's mostly because I don't like beets. The goat cheese at the bottom was great and helped at a creaminess to the tart dish. The fried fish with black garlic aioli was great! I normally don't like fish but the breading and fry was great. The picked radish and carrots under it were so crispy and fresh. The garlic aioli sent it over the top! The Chicken sandwich slider was yummy. The coleslaw was so creamy, the pickle was crunchy, the bread so soft, and then check tender and juicy! The perfect chicken sandwich. The pork shoulder steaks with blood orange pico and hazelnuts and sunchokes were good, not my favorite, but good. I enjoyed the carrot cake tres leches. Woohoo. Thank you 93 'Til, Yelp and Jando for a fun Wednesday evening treat. I liked that this was a sit down chill time. As we walked in they had a few drinks lined up at the bar which they said were up for the taking. After securing our seats we got sipping on the Bees knees. A pretty classic combo here. I will say there was a bit of a wait as the bites got coursed through. Loved the beet salad, and really all the bites were good. I think the fried chicken could use more flavouring in the batter, but otherwise solid food, and thank you for passing them around to us so we could avoid all the chaos. This was a really well hosted event! I showed up about 6 minutes late and was able to scan in and get my name tag right as doors were opening. We were instructed not to bombard the bartenders so I waited a while before asking for a drink (the bee's knees). I only interacted with the girl bartender and she was really kind and attentive. The food came out in a timely manner and the waiters made sure to hit the different areas of the bar so that everyone got to try everything. I didn't love all the options, but it was personal preference and I at least tried everything. Some of the dishes, specifically the chicken sliders and the chicken liver, were AMAZING. I checked out the menu afterwards and will definitely be returning to try a few other things, but everything looked super delicious on their instagram as well. I really loved the music they were playing too, appreciated the words from the owner and overall just had an amazing time. Jando was a great host as well, and the staff went out of their way to check on everyone throughout the evening and were all super kind. The decor and atmosphere is very vintage and feels akin to a record-store. Somewhere I could definitely see someone hanging out and just listening to good music. Definitely a place I want to visit more in the future and I'd recommend to anyone looking for a chill vibe, good drinks and good food! read more

I only tried a mocktail this time around, but based on what other Yelpers said (and the looks of the cocktails I saw being served), the drinks are legit. The passed apps kept coming, and the service was on point--friendly, attentive, and chill. Special shout out to Jando and Brittney for bringing the vibes and keeping the experience smooth. I've been meaning to try 93 'Til and I'm glad I finally got a chance! The parking lot was full by the time we arrived but luckily it was fairly easy to find street parking. The interior of this place is pretty cool - love the chill vibes. The bites we tried were pretty good and my favorites were definitely the pork shoulder steaks and the chicken sandwich. I understand these were sample sizes so I'd definitely be interested in coming back to try the full version. For my drink, I got the fluffy green juice mocktail and it was a refreshing way to wash the food down. The staff was very friendly and attentive, shout out to Megan! 93 til was such a chill spot . The vibe's were definitely laid back and I loved that . The music was a vibe, the staff were so friendly and the owner did a wonderful job telling his back story to how and why he came up with the idea of "93 til". He definitely put a lot of thought into this restaurant and it shows. I wasn't able to try all of the samples but what I did try was really good . I tried the beet salad with goat cheese and the fried chicken Sandwich. Both were very good. I loved the crunch of the chicken. For the drinks, I was able to try the old fashion and the bees knee's. Delicious as well. I'm sure the other small plates were awesome; however, I guess I was just too slow at grabbing the other samples. I definitely look forward to trying the fish dish. Fun Fun Event! Thank you to Jando, the Yelp Elite Team, and the owners of 93 'Til for this amazing night. I enjoyed the vibes, the space, the people, and of course the food and cocktails. We got to try three different cocktails- Bees Knees, Verditas, and an old fashioned. My favorite was the Bees Knees! Tasty with a lot of depth. For bites, we got to try the chicken liver mouse, beet salad, fried catfish, fried chicken sandwich, pork shoulder, and the carrot tres leches cake. The food impressed me and each bite was very intentional and flavorful. My two favs were the fish and the carrot tres leches cake!!! I think their signature dish is the chicken sandwich- apparently the regular size is super big and juicy- cant wait to come back and try!!! The owners were so nice and it was great to hear their story and how the name 93 Til came to be. Their menu also changes seasonally, so it could be fun to go back and try new food items. I had a great time at 93' Til! What great company and what great food and drinks. I had the bees knees and wow! You could really taste the honey in the drink, which was surprising to me. Thank you so much to the bartenders for being so kind and keeping up with everyone's drink orders. I know it must have been a hustle, but the staff was incredibly kind and very efficient. For the food, I am afraid to say I couldn't try all the dishes due to dietary restrictions, but I did love the chicken sandwich sliders, the beet salad, and the fried fish. Unfortunately I am not the biggest fan of chicken liver so that wasn't quite to my palate, but my other friends did enjoy it. Overall, it was quite a fun event. Wow, what an event to highlight AAPI month!! One thing that stood out was the amazing staff at 93 Til. They were so fun and helpful and really made sure everyone was vibing and having a good time so shout out to them! My friends and I enjoyed hearing the story behind how 93 Til came about (and loved it even more when the owner stated he was Viet!) The event ran so smoothly! I love that they brought the food and drinks to us as it really helped prevent congestion and allowed us to get to know our other elites! There was really great ambiance and plenty of comfortable seating for us. The main highlight was the food and drinks of course though which were absolutely PHENOMENAL. Wow, I did not have a bite I didn't absolutely love and the cocktails were all super yummy. My absolute favorites were the fried fish and the chicken sandwich. It was all presented so beautifully!!! Would I ever walk into a bar and expect restaurant quality food? Never crossed my mind. At least not in the states. But then here comes 93' Til serving up bite sized gourmet level food and I completely forget what kind of setting I'm in to begin with. I mean, what kind of restaurant even serves up chicken liver mousse on a piece of toasted bread? Followed by the most refreshing beet salad with peanuts, sitting on top of this delightful sauce/dressing. Then a mini chicken sandwich that makes Chick Fil A taste like trash. But my favorite by far is the fish, which was so delicately deep fried it just fell apart in my mouth without chewing. Even in a fine dining setting is it rare to find food that was cooked, nay crafted, with such attention to detail. Another great Yelp event at a local business that I'm so glad I got to be a part of. I've been to 93' Til and have been meaning to go back since I've only gone for drinks and heard great things about the food as well. I think the best way to describe this event is that it was a cultivation of vibes. There was obviously a showcase of their drinks and food, but what I like most about 93' Til is that it's a chill, local neighborhood spot that you can drop by at basically any time of day. Between the ambiance, music, and pacing of bites, I think the vibe cultivation was achieved. The food and drinks I tried were great, I wasn't really drinking for personal reasons but the sip I took of the Verdita was good, refreshing and not too sweet. Food wise, the beet salad was a sleeper hit for me. Beets tend to be very overpowering but the mix with goat cheese and some textural contrast with cashews really melded together great. The pork shoulder was also a stand out for me, I liked the salty/savory aspects of it and it had a nice mix of fatty/lean and made for a very tender bite. I also appreciated getting a bite of dessert with their carrot cake tres leches and thought the flavors were great for a carrot cake and texturally super moist cause tres leches. I will say that timing between bites (while good for vibes) was a bit slow for a 6:30-8:30 event when folks are probably hungry but also understand that this wasn't intended to be a dinner. Regardless, I enjoyed returning to 93' Til and can't wait to come back for more food/cocktails. I like the seasonal approach to their menu so I'll be looking out for that foie gras again. I love 93'Til and may love it a little more now since I know the meaning behind it and all the hard work that is put into the restaurant. First, parking is limited but there is plenty of street parking. Vibes are always a good time. Love their records and the music they play. Service is always exceptional and we always love saying hi to Jamal! He's the best! Now for the food! Honestly all of the food was yummy. I don't like beets so that's the only thing I didn't eat but I sure did eat the goat cheese lol. They served a pate appetizer with berry jam and it was fire! My sister and friends have always mentioned 93 'til and it has been on my list to try. What a better opportunity to try a new place with all my YELP friends! My favorite part about this event was hearing how 93 'til was founded and what lead up to the name. Food & drinks came out as soon as we sat down at our table. They served beet salad, pate mousse, fried catfish, chicken sandwich, pork shoulder & a carrot cake tres leches. My favorite dishes were chicken sandwich and pate mousse served on a toasted baguette. The pate was smooth and rich, and the chicken sandwich was perfectly balanced with the cabbage and pickle. The carrot cake tres leches was delicious and a perfect way to end the night. I'm glad the waitress came around and asked if we wanted second round of cake because it was just that good! I had the Verdita drink, which was good, but I wished I had tried the bee's knees. I went to the bartender to order it, but he stated they were all out. I guess it gives me more reason to come back for date night! A nice evening with fellow Elites sampling delicious appetizers and sipping on cocktails? Who could ask for more! I thoroughly enjoyed the 93 'Til Elite Event. Coincidentally I had this spot on my list of Happy Hours to check out so the timing could not have been more perfect. I appreciated the servers coming to our individual tables with each item. All the bites we tried were delicious, but the highlights of the night were certainly the chicken slider and the carrot cake tree leches. The crunch of the chicken was just the way I like it, and the slaw paired so well with it. The carrot cake was light and moist and I loved the cream topping. Loooveed this event! I have always been a fan of 93 Til' so was excited to get the opportunity to have the yelp experience here. The drinks were great! I am an old fashioned girl especially with the stamped ice. I could have left right then and been super happy! I love a place that gives the same attention to their bar offerings as the food. The food was awesome! I really appreciated the bites being passed around. The staff did a great job making sure everyone got a chance to try it. The pork shoulder and fried fish were my favorite. Both dishes surprised me with the flavor and quality. The best part of this place is the vibes. Our beverages and dishes came out in a timely manner, especially at full capacity, tjere we're probably 40 - 50 of us inside. I enjoyed the pb n j pate, first time having something like that, n it balance out sweet, salty and savory in a crispy baguette toast. The chicken sandwich was also crispy and juicy, paired with I believe either Hawaiian bun or potatoe bun. It had a nice balance with the cabbage and sweet pickle. The catfish was plump, and super moist and tender. Literally melts in your mouth after a crispy outer shell. It had a nice sweet sauce over it. Carrot tres leches was the super stand out for me. It was a nice time to try 93 'Til with Elite members. Limited parking space in the lot, I parked on the street a bit away from the lot. The atmosphere and music is nice back-in-the-day type of environment. I arrived 15 minutes late, I missed the Chicken Liver Mousse. I like liver so I would have tried it if I had arrived in time. The Beet with Goat Cheese is very good. I love beets but never had it with goat cheese, now I will. The Fried Fish with Black Garlic Aioli was the best, so very tasteful. The Pork Shoulder Steak was good, had some fatty parts. The Fried Chicken Slider tasted good with coleslaw. Very orderly event with great vibes! 93 Til is a quaint establishment in the heart of Montrose. There was ample street parking and lots of seating inside. I enjoyed learning the backstory of the restaurants opening and name. The staff was friendly and very informative. The flow was great with table service to prevent overwhelming the bar and staff with drink offers, with ample food to go around. Jando did a great job of setting the tone before we entered to allow for a smooth event. The food was a bit niche for my personal liking (not a fan of chicken liver or beets), but I did enjoy the Fried Fish with aioli and pickled veggies it was served on. This year, I've been exploring albums released the year I was born, so when I saw that 93' Til was hosting a Yelp event, the timing felt perfect. I had just listened to 93 'Til Infinity by Souls of Mischief, so the connection added a personal touch to the night. The space itself had so many thoughtful nods to 90s hip-hop and Houston history. I loved spotting the Astroworld Amusement Park poster, a cute nod to Houston history, and the board games like Trouble and Monopoly available to play gave the event a nostalgic, relaxed feel. Before the event started, Jando made a point to set expectations, letting us know the evening would feature small bites and explaining how the dishes would be served. That clarity helped everyone settle in and enjoy the flow of the evening without stress or confusion. The layout made it easy to take in the scene. Servers walked around with plates and drinks, which kept everything organized and prevented a rush to grab items. I appreciated being able to focus on conversation and the food itself. There was plenty to go around, and the vibe was casual but curated. The food was eclectic and thoughtful. I'd never tried chicken liver before, and while it reminded me of the potted meat I secretly loved on crackers as a kid, the grape jam and plating elevated it into something new. That was definitely the most adventurous dish I tried. The catfish was my favorite bite. It was battered, well-seasoned, and plated beautifully. I do wish it had been served hotter, but with the volume of dishes being passed around, that's understandable. The carrot cake tres leches was rich, moist, and decadent. A unique and well-executed twist. The chicken slider reminded me of Chick-fil-A's older cousin who knows their way around the kitchen. The slaw on top gave it an extra layer of flavor. My least favorite was the beet dish. I typically don't enjoy beets, and to me, it tasted like solid grass or gelatinous earth. Other Yelpers around me who like beets enjoyed it more, so that one might just come down to personal taste. I also appreciated the easy nearby street parking, which made getting to the venue hassle-free. The lounge setup, with couches along the perimeter and a spacious patio, created a comfortable atmosphere that made it easy to settle in. The bartenders and servers were attentive, knowledgeable, and quick to clear empty plates. They took time to explain what we were being served, which added to the welcoming energy of the night.
