Our mother suffered a debilitating stroke at a fairly young age and was not ready to even think about nursing or assisted living care. After many months of in hospital therapy and a short stay in assisted living, with the help of Nick and his group she was able to move back home where they provide daily help to her as she continues her recovery. Cannot say enough about the wonderful care that she receives from Adam and Karen. They help with everything from laundry, house-cleaning, walking the dog, going to appointments, cooking/prepping food, personal grooming to simple daily companionship. Adam and Karen are very considerate and have been so very wonderful to her. They do anything she asks them to do and she is very happy with them. The whole group at Blue Dots Cares is very knowledgeable and they have worked with our family to make sure we have the best caregivers to meet our needs. My mother was here for three years. I did not choose the place, my brothers dumped her here. During…read morethose three years I took Mom to every doctor appt. she needed (13 times/year). Sometimes staff members would make appointments for some unknown reason. Before we left for doctor they would give us their records for the doctor and when we returned I would give them back doctor's report, so they were well-aware Mom was being taken care of properly. Mom's cardiologist told me staff had brought Mom there and tried to get the doctor to sign papers saying Mom couldn't make her own decisions (yeah, we know, that's why I've been taking care of this from the start). Doctor believed they were scheming to take guardianship of Mom. Why would they want to do that? Thought they could grab some assets, did they? (Mom didn't have any). Then Mom lost all her personal property before I had to sneak her out of there to go to a nursing home. No staff ever reported to me noticing items missing. When I got there it was nearly empty. New microwave gone, pole lamp gone, footstool gone, all her books were gone, all family photos were gone, every silhouette of her grandchildren was gone (22 of them, I think), jewelry box mostly empty with wedding rings and anything worth a little something was gone. Had to call police. Never got any satisfaction from Bloomfield. They alleged Mom put them all down the trash chute all by herself. Can you imagine a frail 82-year-old putting a heavy microwave oven down the trash chute? How about a pole lamp? Footstool? Every single piece of clothing was gone, except 3 blouses. No one ever called me to say things were missing, until that day when only a few blouses were left. Why didn't staff notice? Why didn't staff properly report this? Why didn't corporate office deal with this instead of forwarding to the director who was already being accused of negligence? Do not leave your loved one here. They are not safe and they may well be robbed before they get out.

They made me feel very comfortable with the process - it was my first time going through it and I wanted to find the perfect environment for my mother. In addition, they offer a wide variety of services and the pricing is very affordable. I also found out that the community was recently purchased by a family based in the Midwest that has over 40 years in the business. I was delighted to learn that they are spending nearly $1 million to remodel and upgrade the community's common areas and individual apartments. I was also surprised by how spacious the apartments are. The staff was very excited and enthusiastic about all the improvements and the new ownership. I wanted to share my experience with others going through this difficult process.

I had to go to work, among other responsibilities! After checking out providers and services, Visiting Angels was highly recommended. I knew I wanted to utilize a company with a good track record in this field. The Cleveland office of Visiting Angels has been in business for over 14 years. I did my own due diligence, personally speaking with several current and former clients. I also took an additional step to contact independent referral sources to see what companies they spoke highly of. They can never give you just one company, but the Cleveland office of Visiting Angels was on everyone's top 5 list of referrals. Every reference that I personally called, whether from Visiting Angels or from social workers and referral sources, had great comments about their experience and/or their reputation. Now, as I come up on a year of service, I can happily report that my experience and that of my father, paralleled all of the good references. Their staff members, or caregivers that have been with my father, have been very attentive, reliable and trustworthy. He has his 'angels', as he refers to them, around the clock! He is happy and pretty content. He likes how they take care of him, and I like how responsible they have been. He is 93 years old; a depression era, WWII vet survivor; he deserves the best!
