My wife and I came across this spot looking for some late night eats. The interior caught our attention, with its Birch wood posts. I ordered a Bacon cheeseburger which was decent. The Patty could of used a little more salt. My wife ordered a Hippie Bowl that she really enjoyed. Overall it was fine but nothing memorable to be honest. Chicken burger was a bit too messy to try and pick up to eat so knife and fork it. Fries are good but pretty standard for anywhere in Europe. They have these 4 different sauces to choose from at the table which is nice. Beers are always good. read more

Waiter was very rude. Shoved the table aggressively while his coworker looked on as she laughed, which hurt my boyfriends injured knee. He then accused us of moving the table even though we just sat down, and proceeded to yell at us and state that the table hadn't been moved prior to us showing up. He asked did we have a reservation--and sadly, we did not. They were so busy, I would understand if we cannot be accommodated quickly--but not true! We climbed a little bench, sat on some comfy cushions and leaned back on the trees to relax. As we removed our hats, coats, scarves, etc., we grabbed our menus and "yes" they were in Deutsche... I attempted to read through mine and make decisions, while my partner (much less patient than myself) asked for English menus. #guteIdee He had a burger with avocado, pear, hard cheese and a LARGE beer. I had an amazing salad with apple dressing and sprouts, and an amazing cocktail. #WodkaundBier The server was so sweet, he was an easy English speaker and helped us make our choices. He checked on us often and when we asked for the bill we noticed we couldn't tip on our card. I asked him, "Can we tip?" Nice location in Munich - great sweet potatoes and steak fries and average burger. We attended mass at St. Peter around the corner and wanted to find a nice sit down restaurant where we could sit outside and people watch. There are many choices in the downtown Munich area and so many tourists enjoying beer & food in every area so something has to draw you in. The modern decor and vibe of restaurant is what drew us in despite us sitting outside. We were going to try to maneuver the German menu but before we could - our waitress kindly gave us an English menu. She also offered us a lunch special that included a burger, a side (fries or salad) and a drink (soda & beer included - wine excluded). We thought that was a good deal & agreed. I added a glass of wine with my meal. We were offered a pepper crust on the burger patty but thought it was unusual that we were not asked at what temperature to prepare our burger (it's typical in the US to ask medium or well). When we received our burgers they appeared dry & overcooked especially with the pepper crust. The burger was probably less than average in flavor. Honestly, the basic California In and Out burger tastes 100x's better than this fancy burger. I believe this was a restaurant specializing in burgers which I feel was lacking in flavor. The waitress, the drinks and the fries were enjoyable so we rated this restaurant 3 stars. I would suggest this place for drinks & fries but would pass on the burgers. read more

Popped in after walking around aimlessly for a bit, trying to find somewhere we didn't need a reservation. As it is, we waited about 10 minutes to be seated, it that's better than wandering 10 minutes in the cold, right? One burger and two chicken salads at our table. Have to say, the salads were absolutely amazing. Some of the best we've ever had. Service could have been a bit prompter .. bit of a story for you as well: Server: your total is $$$ .. without tip Me: (hands credit card to server) Server: how much to charge? Me: the total cost of our bill. Server: but that is without tip. Me: yes, I heard you the first time. Moral of the story: sometimes it doesn't pay to be an American traveling through a minimal tipping (if at all) Europe. We had planned to tip a few Euro in cash, not on card; his aggression halved what we would have left. Truth be told, we still probably left more than locals would have. read more

I had such a hankering for a burger when we were in Munich! We were so glad to have found this place after asking locals they led us here. The service was okay. We were seated way in the back of the restaurant so it took a little longer for staff to come to us. My girlfriend and I had the combo of a burger and drink and fries. Was looking forward to trying this place. The pros - really super cute decor and great ambiance - looks like we are in the woods with trees all around and bird houses. Nice low lighting and very cozy inside. The menu/ options are solid and locally sourced. The cons: the service was spotty the whole way thru and the food itself was a little less than average. We knew we were in a tourist trap area of town but still thought it might be alright based on the appearance. We sat and it took 10 mins to get a server to take our drink order. Another 20 mins on top of that to take our food order. When the food arrived (didn't take too long ) both our orders were wrong. I had the totally wrong burger and my friend had asked for a modification. The server was polite and took it back but when it came out again someone In the kitchen found it funny to add a mountain of black pepper to one of the begets instead. We love pepper but the amount of pepper was clearly done on purpose and ruined the food. We were so over it at this point that we decided to eat the Fries and scrap the pepper off the cheese and just deal. Who knows how long it would have taken to get it fixed at this point. I should have snapped a picture. We had to wait another 20 minutes after finishing to pay and get out. Neither of us felt full or satisfied so we ended up having to grab some food on the way home. It's a shame because the place looks great. The prices are what you would expect for a tourist trap place and we expected that going in- just wish it would have been a little better of an experience. read more

Not impressed that I've been waiting for 20 minutes, at the bar, for someone to acknowledge my presence. I feel like asking for them to take my order is too much to ask for a restaurant. 5 more minutes and I'm leaving which is unfortunate as I generally like this place's burgers. It's not crowded at all. I ended up waiting another 15 minutes and even asked if I could order, the waitress said yes then left me sitting another ten minutes. I gave up and left...
