The burgers and the salads are delicious. Genuinely delicious. In fact they serve this magical bread with sesames on top that leaves Dean&Davids already great organic bread in the dust. Speaking of bread, are the burgers gourmet burgers? No. Neither the condiments, nor the meat, nor the sauces are anything special. They are simply good, wholesome, tasty burgers.
Now the meal doesn't come cheap. In typical german fashion everything is extra. Burgers cost around 10€ sans french fries. HOWEVER if you manage to go there around noon you can take advantage of the lunch menu until 5pm which comes with fries and a drink for around 14€ so do take advantage of that.
You have two options of french fries, normal or sweet potatos. And you can actually order a whopping pound of french fries which is simply humongous and could feed a family. The fries lack seasoning and are meant to be dipped in the sauce of your choosing. The regular ketchup, mayo, barbecue, etc. are right on the table to be consumed indefinitely but the special in house sauces come extra.
The interior design and concept are wonderful and quite whimsical, in fact I would suggest a bathroom trip if you come here.
The only minus point is the service, which can be very choppy. The staff are very nice but they lack attentiveness.
So say you have a heart condition, found out you also have a terminal disease and want to go out in your own way, Hans im Glück might just be the place for you. Just order a couple burgers, the whopping pound french fries and off you go. Be sure to sit somewhere visible though, otherwise it might take a couple hours for the waiters to notice your body. read more
