I think some of the bad review has one cause: if you have very specific requirements you may not like the place unless you speak Korean since most stylists speak English as a second language and may not understand you perfectly. Juana up in the heights had the best blow out for your buck in her tiny ass apartment. She got so big she put a public restroom in her living room, aside from her apartment. I didn't have the patience to wake up early, pray for a spot and spend hours talkin bochinche with the other women. Since then I ventured out other salons throughout the city. In need of a haircut and self esteem boost, Bella Lounge Salon was a refreshing find in my new hood. The space is small but contemporary and the stylists are sweet with the quintessential Dominican charm and hospitality. Marisola gave me a wonderful blow out and haircut. She cut my hair dry which was unconventional to me but I was amazed how my layers blended in the end. After the cut she used a flat iron to add texture and waves, which again, was unconventional but I really loved how it turned out. At the end the damage was 65 which is about a third to half less then I would pay anywhere else in lower Manhattan. I could not be more pleased.

In the text you will also get direction for parking in which they will direct you to a parking lot located behind the salon (pay by the hours). Upon arrival, you will get your hands sanitized and temperature checked. Instead of vinyl apron they will provide you with a disposable, clear rain coat to wear over your clothes for the haircut. My hair stylist is Hiroshi and I plan on requesting him whenever I need a cut. I love his hair cutting technique and precision. He has also colored my hair from a light bleached yellowish red to dark brown (almost black), just in time for the colder season.
