Just back from a gel mani & pedi at Hannahs Nail Bar. Face masks being worn by staff and customers, perspex screens in place to shield in addition to masks, temperature checks on arrival and regular sanitising. They even give you your own pack of files etc that can't be sterilised to use and then take away. They are set up so well it made me feel much less anxious than I thought I might. One of the worst pedicure's I've had- Lin is the daughter of Hannah who did my pedicure. She didn't want to cut my toe nail as it was too thick and she didn't have any nail cutters for it. I said I would cut it myself and did. then she refused to remove the dead skin from sides of nail--"how, what-- I can't do it" she said ..so I said the pedicurist next to her was doing fine, I'd seen her do it .so she reluctantly tried a little.. while the client one seat away had come Before me, I was done way before her! Lin used the exfoliating grains, lightly, vaguely, with one hand as she held the pumice in other. As I left really really upset, waste of 28 pounds, realised they take ONLY cash--I wonder why? What are they Not reporting to Income Tax authorities. The client away from me, later agreed with everything I said--as we stood outside the salon..said they were really rude, kept saying something in Vietnamese and even if you don't understand the language, you understand the tone! and she saw that I was really getting poor service and that she only ever got her pedicure/manicure from people she'd known there for a while! ONe of the pedicurists also agreed, said something about how Lin wasn't good at removing dead skin/cuticles.. Not taking her name as I don't want her getting into trouble.. all in all, feel really gyped--and angry.. read more

had a great experience at the spa recently service was great and although they were quite busy the small lady who was giving me my manicure really made my day with her conversation (if you're reading, congrats on your engagement by the way!) I saw the bad reviews and can only say that the experience i had was completely different and I would definitely give this place another go! read more

I was thrilled when I saw a walk in nail salon open in Blackheath. It's a treat I don't always get the time for, so being able to walk in when free works well for me. Had high hopes for this salon when I visited Sunday afternoon. The salon itself is fine. However, the treatment is a bit 'rough around the edges' to say the least. In fact the lady doing my nails managed to cut two of my fingers with the cuticle trimmer (on the second occasion, said 'your skin is soft'), and with two fingers bleeding put some steriliser on them that stung like hell. the paint job was ok (but not great). So I left with stinging fingers, paint no more even than I could have done myself. So though I'm loathed to have to plan in advance, and pay considerably more in other salons around Blackheath. I think it's probably a better bet than revisiting Hannahs Nails. Such a shame! read more

Gave them two chances and no more... Simply said, a waste of time. An attitude from the owner and all in all, poor service. Supposedly the credit card machine doesn't work "right now", this by the way has been going on for months. Quite convenient when it comes to reporting to the HMRC. read more

I popped in on the off chance they could fit me in and was lucky. The girl I had was really nice and did a really good job of my manicure. It was a two-week type of manicure and it has now been just over that time and the only reason I need them done again is that my nails have grown. I have had trouble with this type of treatment before and when I said this she sad if I had any problems in the next couple of days to come back and they would fix it for no extra charge. I find the service generally OK (depends on who you get), but the fact that they only take cash, no cards, is both inconvenient and in this day and age- likely to arise suspicion. read more

Awful. Butchered my nails. Painted all over skin. Talked poorly about customers in Vietnamese ( not knowing I was Vietnamese whilst I was there). Disappointing. read more

Am not that fussed about perfection, I don;t have my nails painted at all just a manicure and they're fine, just about. Their attitude however sucks, never polite, credit card machine more often not working than working - Am off elsewhere read more

I have been looking for a decent manicurist around Blackheath or Greenwich - have tried almost all of them, and they were TERRIBLE. Well, some were just not very good, but most were truly awful. The most woeful being Good Looks in Blackheath - stay away from it at all costs! Smudged, imperfectly applied polish, cursory or non existent hard skin removal, and lopsided rough filing. And they used horrible basins of water (I think that's so unhygienic), instead of the proper manicure chair with the running water basin at your feet. On top of that, they were all really expensive! I ended up having to go to Knightsbridge to get a decent mani/pedi. Until Hannah Spa opened - thank goodness, finally someone local, who knows what they were doing. And very reasonable - a 60 minute, near perfect pedicure (including proper pedicure chair) cost me only £28. Take it from a girl who lived in the States for 10 years (the land of perfect, high maintenance nails) and had a standing appointment every week for her nails at the Ritz Carlton. The girls at Hannah Spa know what they are doing. read more
