I hope…read morethe pictures speak for themselves, but these were my experience watching Sam work on converting my tandem garage and splitting it into a bedroom: Assessment. Sam provided us an estimate for this project without pressuring the customer to sign the deal. Instead, he focused on explaining all the steps involved in the project. He has a very analytical approach to his work and outlines how he will meet and exceed code requirements. Quote/Estimate for cost. He is reasonable with his pricing and will break the job into parts such that the customer does not have to pay upfront for the whole project. He would complete a block of the job and then collect payment after that block is completed. Quality of materials used/work performed. He is very particular about the quality of materials he uses and he informs his customer about the advantages/disadvantages But ultimately will let the customer decide. His work is almost artistic since he is very exact about how he builds things. Overall: I had the best experience a person could have with a contractor - especially when they single handily performed all the serviced required for the job. He built everything to code and exceeded requirements in some areas. (e.g., electrical, plumbing, Drywall, Concrete). Once he begins work he maintains momentum, keeps the work area clean, and has been a person that's reliable with excellent work ethics. I wish the industry worked as he does.

We were highly distressed when looking for a reliable, reasonable contractor for our bathroom…read moreremodel. With 6 kids, it was becoming difficult to find someone that could work around our family's schedule while completing the work in a timely manner, with quality being of the utmost importance. This is when Sam Reese from Grounds 4 Repair SAVED the day!! Not only was his price extremely fair and reasonable (his quote was one of the lowest costs we found!), but his work was of such high quality that even my handy-man husband was in awe! He completed our bathroom on schedule while maintaining flexibility around our family's busy lifestyle. I definitely plan to use him for future projects!

Then there was a delay as not enough supplies were ordered. However, when the job was done we were very satisfied with the quality of the installation. Our installers, Phil and Steve were very customer service oriented and their quality of work transformed our house into just the look that we wanted. I would recommend Platinum in the future.

It took a little longer to complete the job because there was a problem with their machine that blows the insulation. They had to take the machine about two hours away from Dayton to have it repaired, and the manufacturer had delays of their own. Once it was back up and running, they were back to complete the job. They had to cut a fairly large hole in the bonus room's knee wall to gain access. They contracted a drywall company to come out and fix the wall and it looks just as it did originally. The owner, James, and his certified energy tech, Jeff, came out to use the infrared thermal imaging camera to verify the walls didn't have any voids. Everything looked good and we're looking forward to increased comfort and lower utility bills!

All started with a small handyman job installing an HDTV antenna and rotor, progressed into quoting at least 10 jobs. Pricing was excellent and transparent; work was promptly completed with high-quality workmanship and material, i.e. used structural screws instead of nails. When looking at a project, he often saved us money by suggesting and repurposing materials versus complete removal and waste. Also found that our carpet covered steps had unfinished oak treads - sanded, stained and re-trimmed with matching handrail work - nice! We now have a new very nice brick and stone paved patio, a stand-alone pavilion, re-designed all-season room, new LVP flooring in lower level of house, new ramp for our large shed (which needed work to correct issues from previous contractor) new/repaired steel front stair railings, plumbing work, etcetera. The owner of this business is a very busy, all-work oriented individual who concentrates on his work. Difficult to find a business with such dedication to each job and the particular, often customized details. Wife and I planning more work in near future, will certainly hire again. Cabinets Brought (Happy) Tears to My Eyes…read more.. We had removed a large chimney structure around an old 48 inch gas range in our kitchen. In order to integrate our new 54-inch professional hood, we needed a 16-inch deep cabinet created and installed at the ceiling. Additionally, we'd removed an electric oven and were replacing it with a smaller speed microwave. A couple of businesses had proposed to build and install the cabinets, but the prices were high and the timing wasn't working with our needs. As a last-ditch effort, we posted our project on Thumbtack. When Doug Taylor replied to our request, we were cautiously optimistic about his availability and pricing. Needless to say, he did not disappoint us in the slightest. Doug is not only professional, prompt, and responsive, he is a true craftsman and artist. His measurements were meticulous and the cabinets and trim he constructed to fit into our existing kitchen look like they were made alongside their companion cabinetry. Dayton Custom Cabinets far exceeded our expectations for beautiful cabinets. We will certainly be using Doug in the future for all our cabinet and custom woodworking needs. Highly recommend!
