I've heard so many great things about Hank's Bagels, and it definitely lived up to the hype. I ordered the #3 from the sandwich menu on a Rosemary sea salt bagel and it was delicious. The bagel was full, and flavorful. I did have it toasted and took it to go and it was a little hard to chew...so next time I'd probably not have it toasted or just eat it on the spot. It's too much!! Bagel sandwich is comfort food and so hard to mess up but apparently you can definitely overdo it and Hanks does that. We ordered 3 different bagel sandwiches and what we got were massively overfilled bagel sandwiches where everything was pickled and messy and in the end unsatisfying. It's the only place where we've had to remove stuff from your bagel just to be able to bite in to it and not have it all fall on our lap. The price is high and it's really just spent on all the pickled ingredients to stuff into the sandwiches to mask the basic ingredients that are missing from it. 4+ bagel shop located in a strip mall in Calabasas. I've been to their other location in Burbank/Toluca Lake, but this is my first time at this location. I crashed at a friend's house on New Year's Eve and this was in the neighborhood. I thought it would be perfect to go grab some bagels for the crew. Especially since I'm a big fan of their rosemary sea salt bagels. This is one of the few places in the valley where you can get authentic, legit New York-style bagels. I don't know if they make the dough in New York and ship it across the country or whatever, but it actually tastes like a real New York bagel. Service was fast, got my bagels almost immediately.
