Very thankful that I had Dr. Hank Hu to treat my low back spinal and hip disorders. I had severe pains where I couldn't walk and sleep for several days. I was suggested to ER by nurse, I heard other patients recommend Dr. Hank before. I called him and was seen in in 2 hours. Thanks Dr. Hu! I can move without pain after being treated yesterday. I've gone to many chiropractors, including a professor of chiropractic school over the past 25 years due to car accidents. I can say Dr. Hu is the best chiropractor I've seen. Highly recommend him. read more

I went in for a regular checkup and was pretty satisfied with the overall experience. The staff at the front desk were polite and checked me in quickly. They didn't seem overly friendly, but they got the job done without much delay. I only waited for about ten minutes before being called back. The medical assistant who brought me in asked a lot of questions, wrote things down, and seemed to listen, which I appreciated. When the doctor came in, they asked follow up questions based on what I said earlier. I liked that they didn't rush through and actually explained what could be going on in a way that wasn't too technical. They took their time doing the physical checks and asked more questions while doing so. I left feeling like they paid attention, even if it wasn't the most warm or personal visit. Overall, I'd go back because it felt like they were careful and thorough, even if not overly friendly. read more

Dr. Hu is awesome. I found him via Yelp - he is close to my house and takes many different types of insurance. My symptoms have improved a lot since I started going to see him. I have been to quite a few different chiropractors, mostly due to moving around a lot for school and for work, and he is one of the best. He goes slowly and is not too rushed or rough, but you will see instant results and get better over time too! Oh and he is very responsive via text and his office is open during the pandemic. :) read more

I met Hank about a year or two ago and I swear I've never met someone so approachable and awesome. I had an unresolved deadlifting injury for two years that I went to countless doctors for, and Hank fixed it within one visit. Absolutely stunned. Since then, he's helped me back into shape from many other sports-related injuries, and I would never trust anyone but him. Can't wait to come back! read more

I'm honored I get to be the first to write a review for Hank, because quite frankly I don't know how it's taken so long for Hank to have gotten a review from anybody! He's the best chiropractor I've seen, and I've seen around seven of them in the bay area. (I worked in San Mateo before and I now work in San Francisco.) Here are some of the cases I've experienced personally or through family/friends: 1. My dad injured his shoulder playing soccer with my brother. After a year of strenuous physical therapy and "stretching" to lengthen the supposedly tightly healed muscles and tendons, he finally went to see Hank. He felt around, realized that the joint slightly out of the socket and *pop* adjusted it back in. After two visits, my dad could raise his arm over his shoulder, which he couldn't do before. Two visits compared to one or two years of physical therapy. It was night and day - my dad couldn't believe it. 2. Months later, my dad's friend had a similar problem - he couldn't move it for months and he finally caved in to see a chiropractor. Upon recommendation from my dad, he went to see Hank. In one session, Hank adjusted his shoulder back into place and he was able to move his arm. 3. I had sciatica ever since my early twenties, but I actually didn't know what it was until a few years ago. I sat down and sometimes I'd get tingling sensations down my leg and numbness in my foot. It made me feel antsy sometimes, and I couldn't sit straight. Turns out whenever I bent my leg, it would pinch the nerve in my lower back. I went to Hank and he taught me what it was and showed me what was happening on a model of the spine. Imagine two straws and a string going through them. When my vertebrae isn't aligned, it's like holding two straws shifted - it'll pinch the string - my nerve. Got it. He laid me down, warmed up my back, then adjusted me. A few minutes later, after my nerve decompressed, the tingling sensation and numbness went away. Seriously, after years of suffering this kind of thing, it was like a light bulb going off. 4. Since then I've been going back because I have a weak back due to my original injury. He can feel which vertebrae is out with his hands/fingers and he can adjust it back in that session. Comparing this with other chiropractors, I've seen some where they just go through a routine: adjust your back, neck , shoulders, like a checklist. But they don't address my actual problem. You'll see this in some chiropractors - even friendly, really nice ones. You leave thinking "hey, that was a nice chiropractor", but then you realize he/she didn't fix your problem. But the reason why I'm listing all these experiences is because I feel Hank gets the job done. The rating isn't inflated because I think he's friendly and makes me feel good about myself (seriously, I've read reviews like that about other chiropractors) - he gets results. 5. Luckily this has only happened once, but it's a good example. I slept awkwardly one night and my neck felt really odd. I had a tingling sensation down my left hand. My fingertips were a bit numb. Given it was similar to my sciatica, I went to go see Hank, and he pointed out that that my arm/hand nerve extends from my neck vertebrae. He used his fingers to feel my neck, found the spot, and he adjusted it. The numbness was gone by the time I was out the door. 6. I sent my friend to go see Hank after he had a car crash and felt whiplash. He was pretty worried about it since it hurt, and though he never saw a chiropractor before, he trusted my recommendation to see Hank to see if there was anything wrong with his neck. Hank took a look, told him nothing was out of alignment and that it will heal (and so he didn't need to adjust anything) - and didn't charge my friend at all. Yes my friend is fine now :) 7. After a day long hike in Yosemite, my knees ached like crazy. I would feel shooting pains when I walked. One day when I went to see Hank about my back, I asked him about it., pointing to my knees He asked "do you feel more pain when you walk down stairs?" It was weird, because I hadn't told him about that, but it did specifically hurt when I walked down stairs. Upon confirming that, he said it was my MCL and that I strained it. I realized then that he really knew more than just nerves and my back, but he had a good sports therapy background. (He studied it and also does jujitsu and needs chiro services himself!) 8. He has cured cancer. Ok I'm just kidding, but after 7 examples, you're probably thinking "come on!". But I'm just listing the experiences I've had with him. I'm an engineer and make decisions based on data, so I guess I'm listing them out. Why such a long review? Because he's helped my friends, my family, and myself - and yet he still hasn't had a review. He's straight-forward, knowledgable, and is very good at what he does. Try him out! read more

Woke up to some very intense back spasms. I was able to make an appointment right away and go in. Hank was able to figure out exactly what was causing the issues. I felt immediate relief. Will definitively be coming back! read more

Hank is great! My appointment was straight forward, no gimmicks or sells of anything. I shared my problems with Hank and he adjusted my neck and both shoulders with out long chitter chatter. I practice Jiu Jitsu and so does Hank lol, so he fully understands me. My right shoulder has full motion while my neck and left shoulder feels loose and free. I highly recommend Hank, especially for athletes or people who has demanding labor intensive jobs. read more

Came across Dr. Hu from my insurance provider website as he was in-network. It's a small office but Dr Hu is certainly very professional and very good. I went for my minor injury from wakeboarding as I felt my back was pulled sideway. Sitting for prolong period of times will give me soreness in the mid back. The first visit Dr Hu quickly identified the problem and tightness of the back muscle. He made a quick adjustment and muscle stimulator, and the next day I felt great! The 2nd visit he consulted again to see if I felt any worst/better, since I felt better he just do a quick massage and made adjustment of my neck that I addressed. Overall it was a great experience! Definitely would recommend for anyone live/work around the area. read more

Dr. Hu was able to fix my back pain. Highly recommended by others. He is very knowledgeable and take time to explain everything.

Helped me tremendously with my stiff neck and performed a miracle on my husband when he strained his back. My mom also visits him occasionally. He's such an awesome guy and tries to get you in ASAP. Very professional and such an awesome Chiro. I wouldn't trust anyone else to lay hands on my neck but you can definitely trust Hank! read more

Been going to Hank for about 15 years. I've had numerous injuries from practicing BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu). Been to the ER numerous times and doctors told me nothing was broken and told me to take pain meds and stop doing BJJ (not helpful). Whenever I get injured on the mat and nothing is broken, I go to Hank to get my back and neck re-aligned. I've had pain in my back, hips, neck and didn't realize things were out of alignment, but Hank's able to fix things in 10 mins and the pain's gone after a day or so. If you practice combat sports and your back, hips, neck, shoulders hurt or have a pinched nerve, avoid the other chiropractors who insist on massaging you over multiple sessions. Just go to Hank and get that stuff fixed. read more

Prior to visiting a chiropractor, I had met with my physician who diagnosed my sciatica. He treated me by prescribing ibuprofen for the first 4 weeks and then 8 weeks of physical therapy. This treatment gave me minimal improvement. Then a friend recommended that I visit Dr Hank Hu. In my initial visit he made an adjustment that gave me immediate relief. Then I came back for a few more adjustments to get my back to normal and complete relief from my sciatica. He then advised me on some exercises that would help prevent this condition from returning. Dr. Hu does an excellent job describing what is causing your discomfort and what he can do to help. He will be upfront with you. If he believes you need to see a specific type of medical doctor, he will tell you. I've known him for 5 years now and go back for only maintenance treatments. He is certainly a skilled chiropractor but he also seems to have an innate ability for this profession. I highly recommend Dr. Hu. read more

I was injured in a motorcycle accident 9 years ago. Since then, I had serious lower back pain and left leg pain while sitting for a long period. My condition became worse in recent two years that I wasn't able to sleep well due to the pain and soreness. Before seeing Dr. Hu, I've visited several doctors of acupuncture and doctors of rehabilitation medicine in Asia, I did get some reliefs from their treatments, but no one ever solved the root cause of my problem. In two visits with Dr. Hu, he quickly identified the root cause of my problem (SI joint dysfunction) and I felt immediate relief. Through twice weekly treatments in the beginning, I have noticed a great improvement in my back and leg pain. Now, I go once every three weeks for maintenance, as my condition gets stable. What impressed me more is that I found my menstrual cramps relieved about 50% after two months' treatment. It was really a great bonus and miracle to me!! I'm grateful that I found Dr. Hu since his treatment made my life a lot better. My mobility has improved. I can sit longer and sleep better without feeling pain and soreness! He's professional, straightforward, and really cares about his patients. I would highly recommend him to my friends, my family, and everyone! Thank you so much for helping me, Dr.Hu! read more

Dr. Hank Hu is amazing! I had quite pain on the left side of my body for a few days, and thought it was muscle pain due to some excises. He relaxed my muscles, then made the adjustment. The pain went away instantly. Wow! What a relief!
