I love the kimchi from here. They're very kind and pretty much have a lost of the popular products you'd see in SK. I come pretty frequently for the kimchi radish and cabbage kimchi. I also come for the bulgogi and recently was able to grab gal I. The veggies are so reasonably priced and a lot of variety definitely recommend read more

Although this is not our first choice for our Asian shopping needs, it's a nice Korean market with many options for Asian cuisine. They even have cookware and other items. Staff is super friendly and there's plenty of parking available. I think that despite the building being large, they don't have as much variety as other markets in the area so we actually visit the one up the road more often. But when we are in the area of this market, we'll come here. Came here yesterday since I was visiting Medellin Bakery which is located right in front of this market and I needed some spring roll wrappers and noodles. There is also a Korean restaurant attached downstairs, One Family, which is quite good. read more

I had eaten at One Family restaurant and decided to drop by this store since it was literally next door. This store is very interesting and odd at the same time. There were plenty of items that you were able to find at regular oriental markets but the selection was very limited here at this location. The interesting things about this store was that they had tons of BBQ meat and veggies ready for you to purchased from the freezer so that was neat if you wanted a quick meal without having to purchase the items separately. They also had ramen packs that had no seasonings that were meant for hot pot or stew and I've never seen that before so I thought that was very cool and unique. The odd things about this location was that on one side of the store, it was all groceries but then when you get to the other side of the store, it has very odd items such as shoes or things that you would normally find at a flea market and I've never seen that before at an oriental market. It isn't off putting but it was definitely different. I wouldn't return unless I was in the area but even on my first trip, I didn't purchase anything so it's definitely a maybe. read more

Quite interesting supermarket filled with many asian foods, sauces, seasonings, drinks, for your kitchen, cooking, and eating needs. There are non perishable and perishable items. Freezers and fridges are located on the outer walls, as in any supermarket. Packaged items to eat are located either on the table by the check out, or in the fridge closest to check out. There are housewares available to use for cooking as well. Some items include teapots and hot pots to name a few. Conveniently located next door to One Family Korean restaurant. read more

Unfortunately, I am genuinely convinced that the owner of this business is intentionally running it into the ground and has lost the will to continue. She often disappears to an area at the back of the store or outside during regular hours for extended periods of time leaving no one to supervise the store. During that time people come in, notice that there's no one supervising the place, take things and leave. Decent people like myself and some others, wait at the register for maybe 20-25 mins for her to return so we can cash out. If she's not away, she's watching a drama on the tv and god forbid you come to cash out while the show is not on a commercial break, she will be upset at you for interrupting her watching it and be rude to you. She also changes the prices of things according to her mood and she is never in a good mood it would seem. Example, I usually buy a 5-pack of ramen for $5.99, one day she was in a really bad mood and she randomly changed the price to $7.99. She has done this for a variety of other items both labeled and unlabeled. I started asking her for a price check on items before making a purchase and she was very reluctant to. I also noticed in the fresh food that's prepared that there are tiny black hairs in them. I thought a few times that maybe it was my own hair until I saw that another yelp reviewer pointed this out so I decided to investigate it. A few days ago, I bought some gimbap from them, took the pieces apart and as I feared, there were in fact tiny black hairs in it. Disgusting. I have seen this kind of thing before up close, when a family runs a business and it's not doing well, they get greedy and bitter. They never hire anyone because they don't want to pay them thinking it will maximize their profits. When they don't meet their daily quota, they start raising the prices of everything, even expired goods. Then the bitterness is the final blow, when they don't care anymore, and I see that with how the owner just vanishes whenever she pleases and leaves her store deserted for anyone to come in, take whatever they want and leave. The worst of it is her attitude; I get the impression that if you don't look a certain way, she thinks she can say whatever she wants in Korean and people won't pick up on it. I understand and have heard every rude remark she's made to myself and other customers and held my tongue to answer her back. Obviously, I am never shopping at this market again and I do not recommend shopping here to anyone. read more

Recommend this place for the Banchans and fresh k-veggies. I love the pickled chayote, kimchi and pickled daikon. I bet their other banchans are solid too. By k-veggies I mean Mung bean sprouts, red leaf lettuce, korean green peppers, korean pickling cucumbers. The woman whom I presume is the owner also checks the fresh produce and makes sure she gives you good product. She also opened up early for me this morning. She also sold me a smaller portion of rice since I didn't need a huge 40 lb bag. Will def be going back for more banchans, veggies and frozen meat cuts fro some kBBQ at home. You'll notice all of the reviews come from non-Koreans who conflate "Asian Market" with Hangook market. Hangook means Korea. It's like going to a place named "America Plus" and being surprised there's no Canadian regional cuisine or non-plus sized clothing(because fat). This place has the majority of your Korean staples, side dishes, meats, and they even have some fresh made dishes. There's a lot of specialty stuff you won't find at MD like gosori or kaennip and it's reasonably priced. Best you're going to get for Korean goods this part of Florida. read more

You can find almost everything related to Korean cooking range from home made dishes, to fresh vegetable, to frozen meat and processed products. Owner is very kind. You feel welcomed. Unfortunate that Mellissa W. had a bad experience in 2018. As of this morning, all is still well with the market - same owners, same food. By that I mean, I've been frequenting this store since 1993, when it was located in a smaller space on the other side of the parking lot. No bad experiences, always clean, neat and well-stocked with the items I prefer - kim chi, pickled ginger and the selection of already-prepared foods. (I'm a non-cook). read more

SUPER GROSS their KIMCHI has HAIR in them. I actually found multiple jars with tiny black hair floating around. If you purchased it from this store, you better check. their Ramen was expired so I had to put it down, and actually found out that entire ramen in that row were expired. I was super disgusted I actually tried to understand, but I finally exploded at the fact that one of the sauce I purchased from this store today has EXPIRED SAUCE. Its expiration date was freaking July 9th and I know that kind of sauce usually stays good for more than months. I wonder how OLD THAT STUPID SAUCE IS? Please, I don't think this is just a matter of luck to figure out three disgusting facts about this place's product in just one day. If you had bought food from this place, please check the expiration date over and over just to make sure. you might be eating (drinking) something that wasn't worth buying. and the owners, please stop watching k drama in the store and check what kind of junks you are selling. Very neat, clean, and organized market with a decent selection of products. A number of spices, seasonings, sauces, veggies, meats(frozen), snacks, etc. There was what appeared to be freshly made kimchi(which my wife said was delicious) and other similar items. There was also a housewares section with cookware, cleaning items, etc. Pretty much the same as all of the other Asian markets I've been to in Tampa, though I'd say this is one of the more cleaner and well kept ones. The service/staff are the same as you'd expect in any other Korean store (if you're not Korean). We'll probably be back, especially since they're the closet to us of all the Asian stores. read more
