We arrived before our noon appointment, checked in with multiple employees, and waited. At 12:20, after receiving no updates, we were finally told Mia wouldn't be available until around 1:00. We left. I didn't receive any follow-up until I reached out myself days later. Things happen, but the lack of communication and professionalism made my decision to celebrate elsewhere very easy. And thankfully, I did. Chama Gaucha gave me the experience I had hoped for from the beginning. The communication, service, and attention to detail were phenomenal, and my 30th birthday celebration was everything I wanted it to be. Those wooden doors were magnificent. We didn't get the chance to stay, but I was taken aback by how well-maintained this piece of history was back on May 26, 2025. Back in 2018, the king and queen of Spain even made an appearance here - there's a plaque commemorating this on the outside of the building. Additionally, this is a stop where several ghost sightings have occurred. Our guide spoke about a "little girl murdered by robbers at the courtyard well." What a heinous crime that we were not expecting to learn about - but it is forever cemented in my mind and synonymous with this "palace." This is what I told her (and now you) about this structure: The Spanish Governor's Palace was constructed in the early 18th century and restored in the 1930s. This National Historic landmark represents the last visual remnants of the Presidio San Antonio de Béjar. The Presidio was established as the result of a rivalry between Spain and France in the early 1700s for dominance of the territory that is now a part of the southwestern United States.To protect his claim against French encroachment, King Philip V of Spain ordered the governor of Coahuila and Texas, Don Martín de Alarcón, to build a mission and presidio at the headwaters of the San Antonio River and San Pedro Creek. The palace is located in between Market Square and the San Antonio River Walk near the current city hall. The one-story masonry and stucco structure features ten rooms, a grand courtyard and a fountain, and is alleged to be haunted. We didn't feel any ghostly presence while we were there. While this is a neat place to see, it's not as 'authentic' as some of our or other Central TX landmarks like the Alamo, etc. However, for those who like to take a step back into history even though there are missteps in the historical accuracy of its set up even for a few minutes, this may be a place to add to your list.

I'll tell you what, being a tourist in your city I felt very safe and welcome . People are friendly . They stop and speak to you . I like the police presence. I like the ambassadors. The ambassadors are people with name tags on that are out on the street they stop you say hello and ask if you need directions or anything .. the city is pretty clean . The general area is clean and pressure washed early in the morning . You don't see trash and cigarette butts everywhere . All cities should take notes . Good job San Antonio !

They don't provide measurements and the layouts are extremely deceitful online. I've never been more let down. Unfortunately I am stuck here for a year but I hope I can save someone from this poor excuse of family housing.
