CFC did a great job on my concrete flooring!…read more They resealed my pre-polished concrete floor, pulled up old carpet and chipped out ugly tile and polished and sealed the unfinished concrete upstairs, and they re-sealed my concrete counters with a terrific long-lasting food-safe seal, all for a very, very reasonable price. This is a family business, and the sons, Eric and Sean, who actually do the work were friendly, efficient, and terrific. They kept on schedule as much as possible- due to the heavy rain, they needed a little more drying time than they originally estimated, but otherwise, they were very quick. I got the contact for CFC from a neighbor who is also super happy with CFC's work on his floors. So, why not five stars? Scheduling with CFC is difficult. It took me months of contacting Chris, the father, to get a written bid and to get the work scheduled. And I mean literally months- I first contacted him in April, finally got on their schedule in October. These guys do great work at a great price and are thus understandably busy, but you're going to need to keep on Chris to get scheduled. It's worth the effort, though. My floors and counters look great!

We had a few concerns we mentioned before we signed the contract. One was timing and the second was smoking. We said we would like them to stick to the schedule and they did. Dave said it would take them 7 days for the exterior and 5 days for the interior. To make sure this happened he sent a crew of 5 (non-Smokers) painters who were both professional and courteous. (Rick J's comment was not our experience about the look of his employees. There were no homeless looking painters). The communication with every one at Master painters was excellent. There were no hidden costs or extra's. They asked for our approval before doing any extra's and charging us. We had 3 companies quote on the job and although Master Painters quote was the highest, we feel we made a good decision based on the performance of his company and employees. I will be recommending Master Painters to any one who is looking for a painting company.

I've been selling Sollera (a.k.a. Columbia) cabinets for 10 years. Since 1991, our showroom has…read moreoffered many brands of cabinets but Sollera is by far the best. I have them in my own home as well so I can personally attest to the quality. They are very easy to design with. They are extremely customizable so I can make them fit into each of my clients spaces perfectly. Not only are they customizable by size (down to 1/16"), we can also do may custom features with them. You are practically getting custom cabinets but with a semi-custom price and a lifetime warranty! Not only are they easy to design with, but the quality is superior. Their painted and stained finishes are very durable and do not fail or scratch easily like some other reviews said. Not sure why they would say that. Our showroom sells over 100 kitchens a year with this brand and we rarely/never see warranty issues with finish. I would never want to carry a brand that had issues as that would just reflect poorly on our business. This brand really is the best and I can't say enough good things about them. I feel very lucky to be able to offer Sollera. It makes our jobs easy and fun when we can focus on the design and not ever have to compromise on quality or price.

We have had three major headaches purchasing Columbia Cabinets (that is, apart from the 20 week…read morewait for delivery). First, we discovered was that my built-in desk had a segment on the side that was unfinished. Our designer ordered a new drawer box, which still hasn't arrived after a month. Second, a white toe kick was not included for our pantry cabinets. We learned it was our designer's mistake, but still, I would think that Columbia would have a QC department to look into human errors like that. They made no phone call to verify that we didn't want white toe kicks for our white cabinets, even though we ordered blue toe kicks for our blue cabinets. And third, our custom storage closet had several flaws in the paint finish. It looks like paper when it gets wet - wavy, slightly rough to the touch and dull instead of shiny. So now all three parts of our home improvement project have had holdups due to Columbia Cabinets. Each of our contractors is stalled without the ability to finalize the kitchen or desk, or install the game closet. The worst part is that Columbia Cabinets is closed this whole week between Christmas and New Years, so there's no one available to handle our issue.

I want to give a shout out to this amazing company, KITCHEN MAKEOVERS. After getting 4 quotes, and…read more4 different scopes of work (what they would and wouldn't do,) I decided on this company and for a number of reasons: Tanya came with a tonne of knowledge - from colour to paint to hardware, cost, and more. She was able to offer suggestions as to what would look good, and what would be economical for me. She was extremely thorough. As well, she showed genuine interest in making my kitchen beautiful. Another contractor (I'll call him Joe) told me to figure it all out myself, which I did not find helpful. He said he was not a decorator. Everything Tanya put together for me, verbally, or otherwise, was very detailed and easily understood. I had to ask Joe a few times to clarify what he meant, which made me uncomfortable. At that point, I felt suspicious because it was beginning to appear that he was only going to put doors on and anything after that was extra and would take me well beyond the original quote. (See below) There were no hidden fees or nickel-and-diming during this transaction. She was kind enough to throw in a few extras as well - something the other 3 companies would not do. In fact, Joe was not going to paint the frames of the cabinets, saying that once the new doors went on, you would not notice the old cruddy parts of the cabinets. Not so as they were very old and discoloured. As well, Joe did not plan to do anything with the panel at the end of the row of cabinets. He told me it would cost me $150 to return to do those measurements, and $350 to put a new standard cabinet-sized panel on the end. The staff at Kitchen Makeovers is stellar. They are a young group of people, all with an extraordinary work ethic. They are: Tanya, Nadia1, Scarlet, Hayley, Jonah, and Nadia2. I couldn't have asked for better. Even with the amount of staff attending, there was never any breakdown in communication. They all had a specific job to do and they did it. The staff were always on time, in spite of having to drive from the Valley. They were all very pleasant, helpful, and did meticulous work. Their clean-up was impeccable. In closing, I will say that out of all the contractors I've had in my place in the last 2 years, (and there were many,) this company, by far, out-performed all of them, in terms of honesty, efficiency, price, customer care, and integrity. If you plan on updating your kitchen, scroll no further. Kitchen Makeovers is the only way to go. Call Tanya today! You will not be disappointed! 604-330-8735 info@kitchenmakeovers.ca.
