Avoid at All Costs - Unreliable and Dishonest…read more I hired King Ellis for sodding and tree trimming based on what appeared to be positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of a nightmare. After taking a deposit upfront, King gave me multiple dates for when the work would begin--and each time, he was a no-show. No courtesy calls, no updates, just empty promises. Eventually, he completely disappeared. No responses to texts, calls, or messages--just full-on ghosted me. It's clear now that he had no intention of doing the work after taking the deposit. This is unprofessional, unethical, and borderline fraudulent. I strongly caution anyone considering working with him or his company. Do not trust King Ellis. He took my money and vanished. I have since reported him on Thumbtack and recommend others do the same to prevent this from happening to anyone else.

We agreed on a very reasonable price, and, although the work was probably way more arduous than he realized, he honored our original agreement. He did the most thorough and precise job-- he was able to uncover landscaping features we didn't even know existed! He even pointed out an area of our yard where he found an adorable ground squirrel nest-- and placed a wooden board around it for protection while he mowed. :) It began to storm and so he told us he would come back the following day to collect all of the leaves and clippings. He was back at his very next opportunity, and hauled away every shred of leaves and grass. We look forward to working with Robert on a consistent basis for our lawn care-- He is polite, punctual and extremely hard-working. Can't recommend him enough!
