Bought lasagna at farmers market. Simple but the best lasagna I have ever tasted. Will definitely be buying again and again.

It is a cute restaurant located off of Boiling Brooke Parkway in Rockville, Maryland. The inside is decorated with warm woods and shelves and freezers filled with Italian frozen entrees, desserts, and sauces. As you walk up to the counter, you are warmly welcomed. I ordered the Italian cold cut sub and the meatball sub. They have a huge assortment of chips. I am really regretting not picking up a package of my favorite chips. Next time... Service was great. The gentleman who waited on me couldn't have been nicer. It took about 5 minutes for my food to be ready and I was out the door. I want to echo other reviewers, when I say there are no tables or chairs for eating. This is strictly order your food and take it with you. My meatball sub was delicious. It was packed with large portions of meatballs, that were roasted in a tasty marinara sauce. The roll was fresh and soft. I highly recommend this sub. The Italian sub was good, but it was crying out for a little lettuce and tomato. I know that they offer the sub with a green sauce, but I found the taste of the sauce oily and too parsley heavy. I was really glad I had it put on the side. Other than that, the Italian meats were tasty and the sub roll fresh and tender. Prices were reasonable, it was about $20 for both subs. I will definitely return to get some homemade pasta and that tiramisu that was tempting me in the fridge. Gratzi,Vignola Gourmet.

They also have a small grocery section with imported Italian goods (canned clams, tomatoes, olive oils, cookies, etc) and frozen premade goodies like sauces, lasagnas, Italian sausage, pizza dough, and even ice cream. We ordered a hot porchetta sub, cold cut sub, and homemade pappardelle with pesto cream sauce. The owner helped us choose a "soft" sub roll for the porchetta and a "hard" Italian baguette for the cold cut sub. The food was all very tasty and felt like we traveled to a simpler time where ingredients shine for themselves. The porchetta was tender and flavorful, and together with the soft roll, kind of reminded me of a Taiwanese gua bao or Cantonese charsiu bao. It was incredible and smelled so delicious! The cold cut sub was simple and well balanced, and good with the harder baguette. Lastly, the handmade pappardelle was delightfully chewy and reminded me of Chinese hand pulled noodles. Didn't expect to have such parallels with Chinese food- and I enjoyed reflecting on how different cultures can come to have similar tastes and values. Next time we'll have to try their desserts and more of their menu! Can't wait to come back. Go check out this gem in Rockville, and experience a taste of Italy!

For apps we ordered calamari and a charcuterie board. They served various types of bread with house marinara sauce. The bread was lovely - just be mindful not to eat too much to not get too full before the food comes! Calamari was battered and fried nicely - not chewy at all. It was served with the same house marinara sauce as the bread basket. Wouldn't get the charcuterie board again for the price. I ordered the lamb chop and asparagus special. Lamb chops were cooked perfectly. My only qualm was that the fat could have been trimmed more. The asparagus came out burnt! I asked for less char and they provided another side free of charge. The clam linguine was VERY buttery. A good portion of clams with NO sand but the dish had a scary amount of butter at the end. The tiramisu was a lot lighter than what I was expecting. Would have preferred a more intense espresso flavor and cocoa powder on top. There was also an interesting addition of cinnamon or nutmeg (warming spice) that I didn't care for.

Having traveled and dined across the globe, I did not expect homemade pasta, fresh espresso, and Neapolitan style pizza to be in Rockville MD. If you live within an hour drive, just take the trip and have lunch or dinner here. Try the espresso martini! I shared a cheese pizza with my daughter, my mother had the chicken piccata, my cousin the gnocchi, my father the chicken parm, my cousin had a caprese salad and the further seats I couldn't see. We all shared a few orders of the calamari. EVERYONE raved about how delicious their food was. I agree. Probably the best piccata I've tasted. The pizza was excellent. The tiramisu great. The pistachio gelato was perfect. I sure wish they were closer to Florida!! So good.

The biggest hit for me was the suppli appetizer. These are absolutely delicious and vegetarian friendly! Similar to arancini but somehow even more delicious. These are a must-order. I had the pasta alla vongole and a bite of my husband's chicken parmigiana. Our friend had mushroom ravioli that she loved, but I didn't try as I don't care for mushrooms. I've been on a clams and garlic kick lately for some reason and the vongole comes with these and bonus bacon. I would have preferred the bacon a tad crispier, but that is personal preference. I'd give this dish 4* - I would get it again but after trying some others. From the one bite the chicken parmigiana was a 5*. Their marinara is very good and the linguine in both our dishes tastes freshly made. We all split the chocolate temptation dessert and I ate more of it than I expected to, it is chocolate mousse adjacent cake with ganache frosting, very light, perfectly sweet. Often I find chocolate desserts too much after a big meal but this one wasn't heavy at all. 5* My friend ordered sangria which she thought was more like a wine cooler; too sweet for her French oenophile sensibilities and a bit lighter than a sangria usually is, but I am a pleb who loves sweet drinks and I would order it. If you are a sangria purist you might not care for it. Hubs enjoyed his old fashioned but said it needed a dash more bitters to be perfect. I was driving so enjoyed a non-dirty Shirley. Prices to me are reasonable for quality and portion size; our tab ended up high because of the appetizer, drinks and dessert but if you just had pizza or pasta with soda it would be pretty affordable. I will be back to get more suppli and try other dishes!

We ordered a few things, a meat, pizza, chicken Parmesan with wide noodles and a chicken milinase salad as well as a fried mozzarella. When the order came, it also included the margarita pizza that I initially asked to order but said to cancel. it's OK I paid for it and we took it home to have as leftovers for the week. so let's start, the fried mozzarella is excellent perfectly cooked. Great marinara sauce you need a little bit more. The meat lover pizza excellent; however, a little spicy with the sausage. I have to say the margarita pizza looks good but we didn't eat it until the next day and it was not that great. finally the chicken Parmesan with the tagletteli pasta was excellent. My fiancé was excited to eat the chicken Milanese the next day. What we learned is that we should ask for the chicken on the side as not to stay on the bed of lettuce as it gets wet Overall, we had a nice dinner for about $100. The ambience is very child friendly a lot of families and you sit on benches.

I introduced her to "Baci" Chocolate a candy from Italy, varieties of milk & dark chocolate stuffed w/hazelnuts also on sale. I enjoy them during the holidays. And purchased the milk chocolate version & a salty treat. Well she noticed the dark chocolate display was empty. She asked a store associate if more "Baci" dark chocolate was available? A young man checked inventory & found none. Then he checked some other display & found (2) bags-"Baci" dark chocolate candy. My friend was thrilled & appreciated his diligence. This is a Wonderful example of outstanding customer service. See Photo!

No one should be verbally harassed, mocked, or intimidated over wine. Shut it down. I've been a loyal customer at Rodman's Wine, Beer & Gourmet for quite some time. However, my recent experience was deeply upsetting and completely unacceptable. I walked in after a facial treatment (still healing, visibly wearing recovery cream), and was met with inappropriate behavior by a male employee who aggressively questioned my age while examining my ID--despite it clearly stating my birth year. Instead of conducting himself professionally, he loudly announced my birth year in front of other customers, challenged me on my age, and insisted I declare it aloud. This was not only invasive but also deeply humiliating. When I asked why that was necessary, he escalated the situation by telling me to "lower my voice" or I wouldn't be allowed back in the store. That is not customer service--that's verbal intimidation and public shaming. To the woman at the register who knows me and treated me with grace--thank you. To management: You should be ashamed to have someone representing your business like that. After the disturbing behavior, three men came outside the storefront looking around casing the parking lot--an apparent attempt to intimidate. Thankfully, my husband was made aware immediately and we will be filing a report. Women should not be made to feel unsafe for simply buying a bottle of wine. To anyone who's ever been mistreated or disrespected by the staff at this location: File a formal complaint with the Montgomery County Alcohol Board. You are not alone--and this kind of behavior should never be tolerated.
