Dean was great to work with, responsive, and provided timely updates as to when they would be able to come out and get the work done. Communication was 10/10. They had to schedule us out a bit to get the work done, but we didn't mind as fences were down all over the city due after the storm. They dropped off the fence materials the day prior, and got all work done within the expected time frame. Used quality cedar, that looks way better than the stuff my neighbor's 'guy' used. After having horrible luck looking for a fence contractor I came across Hoopers Fencing they took…read moreon my job I contacted them told them my fence measurements because they never actually came to my property to measure we communicated through Facebook and text and then eventually email when they stopped taking my calls. My problem with this company is their unprofessionalism and lack of communication. Everytime I called them they would update me and they tell me they would keep in contact with me and they never did. It was always me calling and texting and reaching out to them. This was my first time hiring someone for work so I didn't know any better when they told me I had to pay them half upfront which I did. They told me pay half up front so they could order materials I paid through PayPal they said if we get your money before 6:30 we can order you materials so because my payment was so large PayPal held the payment for two days after the two days I had to go and clear the money which I did before 6:30 on August 26, 2021 so they were due to come that weekend I asked them if they received my payment they told me yes I reached out to them that Friday asking if I needed to be home for the installation to begin no one responded to me I texted and called on Saturday and no one responded to me and after several calls someone text me saying "Unfortunately Materials will be arriving Wednesday trying to get them from other supplier sooner, but not having any luck. I'll keep you posted" so I'm thinking ok cool Wednesday they'll begin the work boy was I wrong. Not only did they not show up Wednesday they were not answering my calls so now I'm nervous and feeling like they've taken advantage of my not knowing how these things work so after several calls they tell me they're behind on projects and will get to mine AT THEIR EARLIEST CONVENIENCE which was a no go for me. How do I pay schedule a day and time only for you to tell me you'll get to my job when you feel like it but you took my money. I was told Saturday or Sunday then Wednesday then the next Wednesday turned into the week after and after and after so now at this point I'm fed up with their bad business and I just want my money back and I was told based on the contract they had 30 days to complete the job. Their lack of care and time management was appalling to say the least and after doing some digging I found out that most good contractors willcome out and do their own measurements because customers can be wrong and they don't make you pay half up front you're only required to put down 10-15%. All I can say is buyer beware my experience with these people were awful but I was able to recover the money I paid out. I'm too nice and I work too hard to have someone play around with my time and money. Thanks for nothing Hoopers Fencing. I really should have read their other negative reviews before contacting them I probably wouldn't have gone through this nightmare.
