Had them move for us. Awful. Do not go with these guys. First off, showed up late. Second, they got the info wrong about the size of our place because a "basement suite shouldn't be as big as ours" not sure what that means. Third, when telling them that we needed the whole place done regardless of their mistakes, the owner or manager or whatever yelled at my wife on the phone and made her cry by insulting us. Booked them for a move at 2 men and truck for $70/hour. Was told at time of booking would be $70 per hour and that's also what their website states. They claim they sent a bigger truck (no mention of truck sizes and pricing differences), but I wouldn't know if they did due to father in law handling supervising move for me. He claims if that was a 20 ft truck he has a bridge he'd like to sell you. Anyways, since they claim they sent a bigger truck they charged $80/hour. Didnt make us aware of the pricing change until time to pay. Then when I called to ask why the discrepancy it took calling several times, wife showing up at their office, and finally Facebook messenger for them to reveal why the difference in pricing. Then they act like they've done nothing wrong and go back to ignoring. Wouldnt use this company again. Which is sad cuz the movers did a good job but the office will screw you. read more

The owner is a crook. When we booked the move for a 2 bedroom house, they quoted us $1400.00. They pulled up in a 20 ft truck and demanded an additional $700.00 cash in order for them to move. Of course we paid because we were ready to move. It took two loads to get the move done. Would not recommend this moving company to anyone. They were awful. read more

Karen? Really? For the last year or so, my mom and I have moved a few times, all which we used Handy Hands to get the job done. Everything went smoothly for the first few however this move came out of a horror movie. Prior to the move, we called and organized our move from the south side to the west side with an extra stop in order to pick up a piano. They quoted us a price including the piano. However, once everything was in the moving truck, the movers informed us that they would not be making a second stop for the piano as they were not informed about it and did not have enough people or the right equipment. When my mom called customer service, she informed them of the mistake. The man on the phone refused that someone at the company might be at fault and accused my mom of calling the wrong company. After that, she calmly asked to speak to a manager because the customer service rep was being quite rude to which he said that he wouldn't transfer her because she would get sent back to him. He threatened to pull his guys off of the job while they were driving up whoop up. I think they were trying to squeeze us for money because they were going to pull the movers but charge us the original quoted price. After threatening to cancel the job, the customer service rep then proceeded to call my mom a Karen. My mom hung up on him. At this point, we were so done with this company but they still had all of our stuff. So I called them, I spoke to a different customer service rep who said that the guy who called my mom a Karen had just been hired a week prior. The man made excuses for his coworker and claimed that my mother was screaming at him so loudly that he had to put the phone down. That was a lie, I had been next to her when she spoken to them. After that, we came down to them moving the piano the following day at the same price. They weren't going to give us a discount after dealing with all of that. A few hours later, they contacted me saying they had spoken to management and that they were insistent on moving the piano for free. This company has the worst customer service I have ever seen. Their only saving grace is their movers, who are very nice gentlemen. I will never be using this company ever again and wouldn't recommend that you do either unless you wanna get screwed. read more

WORST MOVERS EVER !!!!! They showed up 90min late, and over an hour went by before the first item went on the truck. Josh the owner was rude and lazy not once helping his obviously inexperienced workers. He also referred to my wife as the B**** when she commented on how slow things were going. They did not complete the move saying I had only booked 1 load(which was a lie). I had to pay them in CASH before they would unload any of the furniture that was already on the truck. The next day when I called to lodge a complaint "Josh" laughed about leaving me high and dry before going into an expletive filled tirade about how he didn't need my business. Fantastic team! They were very careful when moving from our one bedroom third floor walk up apartment to our two bedroom main floor suite. They protected all floors and walls. They noted any previous damage to our furniture (we have old super heavy furniture) and made sure to carefully protect everything while in the truck as well. The team was super polite and very fast. We were quoted a 3 hour job and these lovely gents got it done in 2.5! The only negative I have is that I was told that they would arrive at my old place between 9:00am and 9:30am and they came a few minutes after 9:30am. But with how fast they got the job done I was more than pleased with the work done. read more

So I hired them to move me. I told them specifically that it would be a 4+ bedroom house which had 2 families living in it so it's gonna be a big move. They quoted me 2 guys and truck at $70 per hour. So I thought ok it would be a big truck. Nope, a 16ft cube truck to move a 4+ bedroom house. Really?? So they start at 3pm and then by 1015 pm I have the 1 guy come tell me his buddy isn't able to continue because he is to tired. So they literally quit in the middle of a move, said the could return Sunday to finish. Now I'm upset because I have no way to finish moving and the old landlord is pissed. So they come back Sunday to finish, same 2 guys, same little truck. I literally have to take 2 van loads myself and help move things just so I can get moved. This is the worst moving company ever. Just an apology no discount or anything with them quitting in the middle of a job. Also they don't read labeled boxes as they put heavy I mean heavy books on top of kitchen fragile boxes. I'm sure some of my dishes r broke and my wife's picture frame broke and when they feel they r moving to fast they slow down so they can get more money out of u. So the price it cost me, the lack of respect for my belongings, and quitting in the middle of a job, I do not in no way recommend hiring this company to do any such moving what so ever. read more

Hi, I had a small moving recently and I googled local moving companies here in Lethbridge to do my moving. I found handy hands moving very reasonable in price and excellent in the reviews.so I called them and talked to the lady and booked a time for my moving and we also talked about the fees. they supposed to come at 11:30 am to my old house and pick up the stuff and do the moving, these are the problem that I encountered: 1) they showed up at 11:41 (with 11 minutes delay)( I thought that is ok to have 11 minutes delay) but at the end when I got the bill, she said we started at 11:30 am, I told her no, you came at 11:41 but she yelled at ma and said you are lying. 2)the start packing my stuff, I just had one mattress with box spring, one desk, and chair, 1 table with four chairs and 6 boxes of small items and a sofa. so they could easily fit this item in their huge truck. they put the sofa in the truck first and then started to open the legs of the table, I asked them why do you open the legs? they said it is out policy and I said what policy? and they continued to do their job, they spent 25 minutes on opening the legs, although I told them don't do it... 3) the truck driver was the very rude man, he discussed their rules with me and did not make sense at all with the really unrespectful manner... 4) at the end, they finished at 1:30 PM, but when I got the bill, I found they calculate it for three hours, I asked her why three hours? she said this is our rules and policy, I told he which policy? you did not tell me these things when I called you.... long story short, I paid her the three hours fee just not to see her anymore, but I got a really bad experience using these small local companies, do not trust on other reviews at all. read more

I e-mailed them on Friday to see if I could get some help because the help we had been promised for my move on Sunday couldn't make it. They were able to help, they came out at 9 a.m and by 11:30 I was moved in. Because they charge by the hour the men stayed until 12:00 helping me to set everything up. They were great workers. This company moved my very heavy piano today from Lethbridge to Airdrie. Right from the first time I called them, they were very respectful and prompt, answering all concerns as to the move. They arrived on time, were extremely careful with our home, putting guards and runners everywhere. They treated our old piano as gentle as a baby, all the way. On the other end our daughter as well was very impressed, and pleased with their professionalism. Have moved many times and never had such a good bunch of workers, and prompt, caring respect shown towards us and our stuff. Will use them again! Can't say one negative thing about them, or a suggested improvement. read more

I'm being overly generous giving these people one star. Don't be fooled by the owner, Alyssa's, sweet demeanour over the phone. Her and her awful boyfriend Josh, whom she kept saying was an "employee",have no idea what they're doing and if you want things done a certain way don't expect them to do it. Alyssa came out to my home and we did a complete walk through of what I would be taking and what would be staying and I gave her my budgeted amount of $700 and she replied that they could absolutely do it no problem for that amount. They charged an additional $475, and then due to all the items left behind I had to rent a Uhaul and Neighbourhood Movers to help (if you're looking for phenomenal people call the owner Rob). I have terminal cancer and am unable to do a lot or it makes me very tired and weak hence hiring movers/packers. I had bought plastic sleeves for My black couch, white mattresses and duvets and when I asked that they go in the bags I was yelled at by the lovely Josh who has the talent of turning a woman fleeing a domestic violence situation into a sobbing scared mess in my bedroom for the entire day and scared of the fact they had to come back to finish the job. My couch, beds, blankets and tvs were left on the dirty storage locker floor with cigarette burns on the arm of my couch, duvets, furniture scratched as no moving blankets were used to cover good furniture. But they shrink wrapped the crappy stuff. A $400 mirror has big scuff marks all over the bottom that was obviously dragged to where it was. Josh absolutely REFUSED to put the $1200 3D TV in the box and it was propped on my patio table with a rod iron chair leg resting on top!There were 7 people, including myself, and they couldn't pack up a two bedroom home in 6 hours due to "loss of daylight". The other employees were complete sweethearts and were very diligent in asking what was coming and what needed to stay, but if Josh caught me out of the bedroom he'd start yelling that I was slowing his people down. Trust me, if I didn't constantly be asked to come and look at whatever the question was asked about I wouldn't have left the room. I was never given invoices and when I asked why I was told they only give them if they're requested???!!! Even after asking I never received them and had to contact her and she started crying about how "sorry she was for the headache her employees caused me and she thought she'd left the invoices at the house and was so sorry she forgot". I could go on for hours about this useless company but I've spent 40 negative minutes writing this. I have heard from far too many people that they've heard nothing but bad things about Handy Hands Moving so don't say that nobody warned you should you choose them! read more

Some friends of ours recommended Handy Hands Moving due to their quick services and low prices. Another reason we booked Handy Hands is that they move pianos. We booked the moving date and time with them without an issue. Moving day came and we had a moving time booked for 12pm. We got a courtesy call from the company saying that they were going to be late and wouldn't be at our place until 3pm. 4:30 pm rolled around and I called the company. I got no answer for about an hour and finally somebody got back to me and they told me that they would be there within and hour and a half. There was a lot of back and forth with rescheduling times and they did not show up until midnight...thats right, 12am...the next day. At this point I was frustrated but understood that a small businees can run into hiccups at times. I was a little worried about how late we were moving due to the noise in the neighbourhood. The moving truck was backing up to our house and there were people screaming at each other as they were trying to back up the truck with the trailer on it in the middle of the street. I told them to be quiet because I did not want them to wake the neighbour's kids. One of the head workers came to the door with forms to sign. He was very apologetic for showing up so late. I asked him what the forms were for and he said that it was for consent to enter the home and move our items (If you are to get this company read the fine print...on second thought, don't hire them). The movers then came in and were pleased that this was going to be a very easy move. The movers were very polite, apologetic, and friendly. After a couple hours of moving, they were finished loading up the truck at 3 a.m. At this point, I could barely see through my eyes and my wife was nearly sleeping on the kitchen floor. These movers had been going since 7 that morning and were wanting to unload our items into the new house at 3 in the morning! The head mover said "Just let me call my boss, we have to wait for him to come over and drive the truck to your new place."....that's right...the boss dropped the truck and trailer off, went home to sleep, and had the workers call him when they were done. This is not only bad business practice but he treated the workers like garbage. Still trying to be polite (I am a very tolerant person) I explained to them that it was NOT happening and that they should all go home and go to bed. We could pick up where we left off in the morning and put everything behind us...easy right?..... They could not get ahold of the boss on the phone for a while. They finally did and told me to be at my old house at 8 am sharp. Most of the workers thanked me for sending them home. The boss/owner showed up and they packed up the truck and left. Needless to say I was very defeated at this point but tomorrow was another day and I got the few hours of sleep that I could. The next morning, I waited...and waited...and waited. I called...and called...and called. I finally got on the phone with the receptionist (owner's girlfriend/wife) and she asked how I was doing. I responded by saying " I am not very happy." The next couple of minutes I was seeing red so I will try to explain it the best I can. The owner grabbed the phone and started yelling at me/bullying me. He gave me flak for sending his workers home when the job wasn't done. I explained to him that moving at 3 am was unbelievable and that they should not have even come at the time they did. Getting even angrier, he started to yell. He compared these guys to the TV show "Deadliest Catch" where the workers work all through the night to get the job done. Ya sorry buddy, not what I signed up for. He blamed me for having nor workers ready that morning because labour laws protected the workers from not showing up. I have no words to describe the anger that I felt at this time. I promptly called my lawyer and had him on standby at this point for any legal issues that may arise. they arrived around 10 am and we went to the new house to unload everything. The owner was present to drive the truck but did not move a THING in order to help his guys. The movers were still very polite, fast, and apologetic. I have nothing but positive things to say about his workers. I received the invoice for the main move (separate from the piano move) and had a mind to fight the price...but was just wanting to get this over with. they then told me that they only accept cash...very inconvenient. They did not specify this in their ads or verbally prior to this. Do they think I just carry a few hundred dollars of walking around money in my pocket? I then had to go to the bank, with a worker in the passenger beside me (as if I was going to take off without paying them). I got them the cash, of course they had no change. Finally, we moved the piano and they wouldn't move it into our new house without an upfront cash payment again....super sketchy. TERRIBLE company all around. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Other companies in Lethbridge are a lot cheaper (like $100 cheaper at the least) and a little more helpful. I wouldn't recommend these guys. They moved our piano alright, but not without frustration on our end, and huge communication gaps, as well as rudeness. You can read my full review below. After getting a quote to move a piano from the west side to the south ($300) I had found a couple other company's that both quoted me lower (around the $200 mark). It is important to note, that I explained to all the companies that our driveway was currently being dug up and concrete poured, so it wasn't the easiest access into our house. I called Handy Hands to ask if they would budge on their price, and was informed that the lower quotes probably didn't include wrapping, floor mats, insurance, etc. I was informed they could lower it if I didn't ask for insurance. I called the other companies, and behold, was informed that yes, the lower quotes included insurance, floor mats, wrapping, etc. etc. I called the other company, and they said "of course that includes insurance and floor mats." etc etc. Handy Hands called me back and said they would "match the $200. We will do it for the $200". I explained that the other companies included insurance and wrapping as well, and she said "yes, we'll match it for the $200". I explained again about the dug up driveway. I thought I was getting a lower quote that included the insurance. At that point, I would have went with the other companies had I been informed that insurance wouldn't be included. When I arrived at the pickup house, one of the movers walked through the door and exclaimed to me "this wasn't the house to cheap out on insurance buddy". Needless to say, awkwardness ensued, and I was incredibly embarrassed at his comment, especially that he stated this in front of the home owners. The wife laughed it off and stated that there was "no need for insurance in this house." I was back at my home before the piano movers, and called the company to explained that there must be some confusion regarding the quote and insurance. The lady informed me "no I told you that it wouldn't include insurance" to which I replied "but when I explained that the other companies did indeed include insurance, you agreed and said that you would do it for the $200". I also said that at this point what is done is done, and I just want them to be more clear in the future. I also explained that I was frustrated with the workers comment, and their abruptness. I also again clarified that I was concerned what they would be saying to me when they see our dug up front yard, and she assured me they wouldn't say anything, and that she would talk to them about the comment. I again explained that there was obviously a miscommunication regarding the quote and insurance, and that if I had known she wasn't going to include the insurance, I would have went with the other company. When the movers arrived at our house, and assessed the place, one of the workers (with the rude comment) called his superior and stated "did you see the picture I sent? Did you see the driveway?". Within minutes, I received a call from Handy Hands and the lady stated "so there is a bit of a conflict. Because your driveway isn't level, the guys are going to have to work a little slower, and take more time". I stated, "I suspected this, and I think I explained to you a few times that it was dug up". She stated "No sir, you said it was being prepared for concrete, and usually that means it's level, so we will have to charge you an extra $50". I said "whatever. Fine.". They did move the piano (which took them less time to get into our house, then to get out of the other house), and I paid the $250 without the insurance. When I looked on my receipt, the lady who had given me the quote had written down "gravel/dirt driveway". I don't think I ever said "gravel", and I didn't even say "dirt", I think I actually used the word "mud". All in all, sure, they moved our piano. We're happy that we have it. But my wife and I were very disappointed, and disgusted with their lack of customer support and customer service. We will certainly not be going with these movers again. read more

They lowball their quote to earn your business then they end up charging you extra once they do the job. I would recommend to everyone to go with a more credible company unless you like to spend more money than you need to. read more
