I would give zero stars if I could. Handy Service, specifically Customer Service is the worst. Was without my car for FIVE weeks, communication was non existent, did nothing to make my situation easier. They supposedly have a fleet of loaner cars but coincidentally not one car was returned in the 5 weeks I needed one to get to work and my kids to school. Would not assist with a rental car. Got my winter tires switched over while it was there and charged me $150. For the weeks of run around and frustration the least they could have done was comp it. I was told no, there was nothing they could do. To top it off I was given a filthy car. Cars should go back to customers after any service clean. Anything less is just lazy. Do better, Handy's. Maybe take some pride in the work you do. I am not including all the miscommunication and mistakes they made during this, it would be a book. read more

(Unfortunately) bought a 2021 Camaro from these guys back in August of last year. A short time after taking it out of storage in April I noticed that after a rainstorm the driver's side floorboard was soaked. Also around the same time the infotainment window was dimming by itself sporadically. After taking it in they told me they did a supposed upgrade to fix dimming problem and they fixed the leaking. Then I get in my car and I see filthy boot prints on my passenger side floor mat as they apparently don't have enough respect for their customers to put a paper floor mat down. So on my way home the info screen once again goes from vibrant brightness to almost unreadable darkness., but not only that but my heads up display (which was working perfectly before the appointment) now has what looks like a finger print over it. So I get home and called them and they asked me to drop it off and leave it a few days. Fine. So he calls me the day after I drop it off and updates me, then I don't hear anything for a week so I call him back. Says they can't duplicate the problem with the screen so they put in a case with GM and they ordered a module for the HUD. but they still haven't fixed the leak. At this point I have had enough and told him I was picking the car up the next day. So he calls me the day I was picking it up and tells me they fixed the leak. OK, 1 out of 3 ain't bad I guess. So I get to the dealership and look in the window to see that there is a paper mat down, which was refreshing. I go in and pick up my keys then get in my car and immediately notice filth and what looked like chunks of oily grime on the top of my dash. Unbelievable. To top it all off the next storm we have I go out to find a huge damp spot on my carpet and the next car wash I feel water dripping on my foot so they didn't even fix the leak!. Oh and the part that they ordered for my Heads Up Display? I just got a call from then telling me the module came in for my REARVIEW CAMERA! So...9 days total, none of the problems fixed, a NEW problem added, a wrong part ordered and two instances of having to wipe down my car from the slobs who couldn't care less about other people's property. If you go with these guys good luck. You are going to need it!!!!! read more

If Yelp would let me give this dealership 0/5 stars I would. Take your business somewhere else Bought a used car from this dealership in November 2021 and was told that the brakes had all been replaced before my purchase. It drove fine. 1 week later the brakes were unbearably loud. Called the dealership and they reassured me that they had just been replaced and that the sound was because they were "so new". I trusted my gut and brought the car back to them. After bringing the car to their shop I was told me that they had "applied too much grease" to the calipers and the sound would wear off in time. Brought it to my personal mechanic ... the brakes were completely seized. They had never been replaced by Handy Chevy. Can't stress how sleazy this dealership is. I was told today that if you are paying cash and don't have a trade-in, expect to pay $3000-$6000 MORE than the MSRP. A policy put in place by Don Handy, according to the staff. Matt advised me that some dealerships won't even sell me a car without a trade-in but they have it in their hearts to sell me a car but they will have to charge me more to "keep the doors open" read more

as per the general consensus, handy's management is sub par at best. Terrible customer service! I brought my truck in for an AC compressor issue. I specifically said do not perform any work if my warranty was expired. When I picked up my truck they charged me $120 dollars and told me the AC compressor needs to be replaced. Then stated it was a mandatory charge to look at the truck even though I stated do not do anything to it if it was out of warranty. To top it off It was a 2.5 week wait when I called to bring it in. DO NOT DO BUISNESS HERE!! Finally tracking down talking to the service manager who doesn't return phone calls. I was told it was my fault I didn't write my warranty information on the drop slip and that the people who take appointments don't know if warranty work is covered. Absolutely the worse service department ever! Had a 3 o'clock confirmed appointment for a recall on a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. Was told the recall would take 1 hour, was a software update and I could wait for it. When I arrived at 2:40 I was told by "Chuck" (who looks and acts like Ted Cruz) that it was a 3 hour update and they close at 6 so they could not get it done. After finagling to get a ride I left it there overnight and asked since they were keeping it to change the oil. Was called in the am and told there was a nail in the tire that could be fixed. Very much appreciated that. Was told at that time it would be ready at noon. Called at 1:15 pm just to confirm it was done since I live 26 miles away and was told they just started it! Ted Cruz look alike proceeded to tell me that I didn't bring it in till 5 pm ( not true, drop off was 2:40) and they had to fix the tire and do the oil change last night so couldn't get the recall done till today. (They just found the nail in the tire today so how they fixed it the day before is a wonder!). When I told him I was told it would be ready at noon he snapped and said it's just past that now. It was 2 pm, 2 hours past noon. I would have been understanding if they just told me they got behind and didn't get to it but this was crazy and will be the last time I go there. Handy Chevrolet needs to fix their Service Department if they expect to sell cars! read more

Don't buy a used car form Handy unless you want to get screwed!! Seriously, I bought a 2014 WRX with 14,000 miles. It lasted 4.5 month until the motor went. Subaru stated it wouldn't cover the warranty because the vehicle showed signs of modifications. After removing and tearing down the motor they (SOA / Twin City Subaru) I'm stuck with a $10,000 option to replace the motor. Umm??? During the arbitration process it was proven that the previous owner purchased COBB parts hence modifying the vehicle and effectively voiding the factory warranty before I purchased it. The arbitration panel still sided with the dealer and now I am stuck. Dan Handy and I spoke over the phone where he accused me, lied, yelled and ultimately hung up on me. He is an incredible asshat and I would love to hear from any other folks with a story about dealing with Dan Handy. Game on buddy ZERO STARS read more

I recently went to look at a car I found online. When I arrived, the salesman was friendly and quickly got me the car I wanted to test drive. The car was in good shape and condition so I had considered it as a possible purchase. This is when it all turned sour. I was offered a trade in value for my car that was grossly too low. I had been offered up to $3000 more at other dealerships. When I told him that, he stated that he was giving me a break on the car itself, which ,all added together, would even out. However, he was NOT discounting the car at all. The "value" of the car he presented me with was $3300 more than the value listed on Kelly Blue Book. I felt like I was haggling with him just to give me a FAIR purchase price and FAIR trade-in value, forget a discount. I felt that he was relying on me not to ask him questions, but when I called him out on his lies he would just lie more. All in all, this was the WORST dealership I have ever dealt with. The cars are overpriced, the trade-in values are too low, and to top it off, they employ some of the sleaziest salesmen in Vermont. Don't waste your time! read more

My wife and I just purchased a used vehicle at Handy Chevrolet. When we first arrived, we walked into the wrong building because there is not a good indication as to which building we should go to. After crossing the parking lot and going into the correct building we were warmly greeted at the door and brought to a pre-owned specialist salesman. Our Salesman was Scott Colan and he was extremely helpful. We told him what vehicle we wanted to look at and he got right on it. Let us review the Carfax report while he brought the vehicle around to the front. After we decided to buy he was very proficient. He answered all my questions. Also I like to joke around a bit and he was all for it. Relaxed and willing to talk about prior work, where he lived, kids, favorite TV shows ect. He was not trying to rush us through anything. He has ALWAYS been upbeat, pleasant to deal with, and has a great attitude. more importantly, he doesn't get pushy on the "upsell" of services you do not want or need. He keeps you apprised of how your vehicle is progressing too. Can not say enough good things about Chuck! He has helped resolve a couple of tricky issues as well, one dealing with tires that had been installed very poorly by a tire shop (their primary business). Definitely the guy to see at Handy. My 2018 Chevy equinox started leaking oil so I brought it in hoping they could do something for me but all I got was they couldn't take it in and all I wanted was a loner but that wasn't happening either . So I called again asking if I can bring it in and the earliest is a week away and still no guarantee of a rental. The vehicle only has 16000 miles on it and it's a lease and now I'm practically running out of oil every time I go anywhere, I keep having to put oil in it. They are no help at all so I'm bringing it to a dealership closer to me but it's a little too late. Started as a positive encounter with the sales staff. Stated concern for purchasing a used vehicle and was told that Handy has a specific inspection of all cars that reviews everything from electrical to the battery. Also, reviewed that if any large issues occurred "Handy is well known for working to help those who purchase their cars." Before even making some of these issues arose: 1) Battery was the original from 2012 and had not been tested and it froze due to its age (combined with VT weather) 2) Steering column had not been aligned and would drift to the right 3) The engine seized which has resulted with the engine an starter needing to be replaced. This was a factory warranty that Burlington Hyundai stated should have been reviewed and informed to us at the time of purchase. There is a lack of review of used vehicles. From these issues it was clear that Handy did not do an adequate inspection. Salesman we worked with referred back to not having a warranty through Handy and has not yet been willing to work with us. This has left our family without a vehicle for 10 days at this point. I rarely complete these postings --and would like to make folks aware. Please be aware prior to purchasing a used vehicle from this location. I would advise looking elsewhere. read more

I will first say that my sales consultant, Matt Porter was a rock star as always. This review is in no way against him. What I didn't like and I was very clear with them about was that they are tacking on an additional $2k to the MSRP if you don't trade in a used vehicle. This is an attempt to incentivize people to trade in their used vehicles, which I understand. However, this really isn't fair if someone came in without a used vehicle to trade OR in my case, decided they didn't' want to trade their vehicle. They were not willing to work with me on my trade to come remotely close to meeting in the middle or giving me what my trade is valued at. A better solution would be to give X $ extra for their trade, not charge people on top of MSRP that don't have a trade. This was the 3rd and last truck that I bought from Handy's. In my opinion, this is not how you treat your loyal repeat customers. The other thing is that when I did have them factor in my trade, they tried to hide the $2k in my trade allowance saying that they were allowing me X for my trade, but really they were allowing me X-$2,000 and trying to make it look better than it was. They are sneaky.. watch the numbers, check the math, and shop around. read more

Both were great, and professional. They weren't pushy, and didn't try to sneak anything into the final price, everything was very transparent, and walked/talked through thoroughly. We had a set price, we wanted for the two cars, as well as a set price for the add on we wanted, such the extended warranty, 5 years of Handy maintenance, and gap insurance, which they met. Evan, was a pleasure to deal with, really went above and beyond any of my fiances, and I's expectations. Geoffrey, knows his job very well, and worked to get us the best interest rate, as well as made sure we knew everything we were signing when it came to paper work, and what each add on plan covered. On Tuesday I visited the dealership to look at a used car. After negotiating some I left the dealership with no offer in place for the car I was looking at. I informed them I was on the way out of state for business. I was called by the salesman before I even made it on to my first flight to say they were able to lower the price some and I agreed to purchase the car. On Wednesday, I was asked to put a down payment on the vehicle, which I did and I arranged to sign the paperwork on Friday. My flight was cancelled on Thursday so I was not able to make the schedule appointment to sign the papers and pickup the car. I called the Salesman right away and told him and arranged a time in two weeks (when I would again be back in town) to sign the papers and pickup the car. The salesman agreed and everything seemed to be all set. On Saturday I received a call from the salesman stating my deposit would be returned and Handy Chevrolet was not willing to hold the car for two weeks. I called back about a half hour later to see if I could arrange another time to sign the papers and pickup the car only to be told the vehicle had already been sold. Apparently, while having my deposit; the dealership showed the car and then sold it. When I spoke to the manager he said they don't hold cars for as long as two weeks but at no time did the dealership try to contact me to see if I could pick the car up sooner. The manager stated it is very difficult to manage eight salespeople and understand what is happening at his dealership at all times. As of now they have still not refunded my money saying it will take the bank a couple days however my deposit was in their hands within an hour of them asking for it. I have to wonder how much more money the dealership was willing to take for this car to sell it with a deposit already on it. This was to be my son's first vehicle purchase, he gets his license in two months. I think the only thing he learned from this experience is that there are companies/dealerships that cannot be trusted. read more
