One of the worst haircuts I've ever gotten. Guy spent an hour with the clippers (all I asked for was to clean up the sides and back with a 4) and couldn't even square my sideburns straight. Hubby was looking to get a cut and his current barber raised his prices. With his long commute from Oakland to concord and raised prices, it didn't seem as worth it. Handsome hooligans was only 12 mins away! Why not?! Heard GREAT things about this shop. Finally persuade him to try them. We entered the shop and man, it was beautifully decorated. Everything was clean and symmetrical. They had a nice seating area, where I can watch my hubby get his cut. We had some technical issue with booking and our appointment time didn't show up. But they worked their magic and was still able to take him. We were help by Myles. My hubby is very particular and Myles was really patient and understanding about how my hubby wanted his cut. I started coming to Handsome Hooligan's because the young gentleman, Ronnie did a house call for my friend and he was kind enough to fit me in while he was there. Shortly afterward, he told me he was renting a seat at this cool new shop in San Leandro. I live in Fremont and travel all the way here just to get my haircut, because Ronnie is just that good. I've frequented plenty of barber shops in the past, and I could not find one who had a barber that could deal with my fine hair. The fades just never looked "gradual" anywhere I went, and I've been to some pretty popular, well regarded barbers. It was love at first line up; what else can I say? I always leave there feeling like a new man. I was kind of hesitant to give Ronnie's name to my friends, cause the young man is so good, but all my friends are content with driving all the way out here to see him. One thing I've noticed not only about Ronnie, but all of Handsome Hooligans staff is the barbers take their time cutting hair, and aren't just rushing people in and out of there. LOVE this place! Today was the first time I took my two boys ages 2& 6 and we absolutely loved it! Every other barber we have gone to my kids have cried .They did an amazing job with my two year old, and they were super friendly with us.The shop is very clean and has really good prices . Update on my previous, scathing review of this business (which if you haven't read, please READ THAT FIRST): THEY. STILL. SUCK. HARD. And I'll tell you the reason they still suck... I posted something on my Instagram account, and the owner for Handsome Hooligans, by complete random chance, left a comment on my photo (...something like, "nice photo! Check out my Instagram account if you'd like). So, he's promoting his business. Nothing wrong with that. EXCEPT...he had no idea that I am a customer that they treated like shit. And they never apologized. FACT: this business is not professional I went over to his Instagram account, and left a copy of my previous review. He not only deleted it, but blocked me. Did he apologize? No, just blocked me and swept me under the rug. Like I'm nothing. FACT: this business will not apologize for their obvious failures to the customer I'm a San Leandro resident and wanted to find a San Leandro business that I could frequent regularly...sadly, this business doesn't care about San Leandro. I did find a great place elsewhere, that I visit every 2 weeks for my haircut. FACT: this business doesn't care about San Leandro Handsome Hooligans has missed out on 20+ appointments that I've made elsewhere. Came in today to check this place out. The shop was very clean and pretty cool. I found this place on here searching for a more classic barber shop and that's exactly what it is. Regee hooked me up with a taper fade with scissors on top and he killed it. He took his time and made sure everything was nice and crispy(instead of just getting rushed through). He also hit me with the razor line up and it came out legit. I would recommend this place to anyone from young to old from a modern cut to classic they can do it all. They also got a pretty good selection of pomades. What's also pretty cool is that you can shoot pool while you wait. Do yourself a favor and give this new business a shot. read more

I think they provide great haircuts however - they are NOT Covid safe. During these times, that's a huge no for me. The barbers don't wear masks. If anything the barbers should have one and the clients can take it off if their cut needs them to take it off. My family felt uncomfortable there and it's disappointing because like I said - they give good haircuts and everyone is friendly. I've been coming to these guys since before they had their own shop. Great haircuts from every single barber. I read some of these reviews and people do not understand that it is NOT like 15 years ago when you could just walk in and get a haircut that same day. I've been getting my haircut from the same barber(RONNIE) for 5 years now and I still have to make my appt every Friday. They have multiple clients that have weekly appts, that's just saying a new customer would need to come in and get one of the barbers number and text them and set up an appt a COUPLE days before. They are more than willing to cut anybody's hair but just be patient. If they don't reply to your text, text them again, it doesn't bother them. My neighborhood barber was closed so did a quick Google & checked out the place. As I'm walking in I met James who's outside taking a smoke break. "Need a haircut?" he says Yep & in I went. Clean outside, cool atmosphere inside. I just needed my haircut I do myself cleaned up & faded in the back (hardest to do yourself). James says just call him Chiu & we BS'd about camping & his rafting on the American River. Not only was "the Chiu" a cool dude he did my cut how I asked & didn't F it up & not follow simple instructions that other barbers mess up a lot of times I asked how much are haircuts? Well I wanted to love this place. Love the name. Love the vibe. Seems cool. Well I TRIED to go. I stopped in one day and they said they were closing but I can call to make an appointment. I called three times. No one answers. I then wrote and email asking the hours which are different on their website then they told me. No reply. The barbers are "o.k." but they can't keep a appointment. every appointment I've ever made with these guys have been either canceled because somebody went home or I've had to wait 45-60 minute after my appointment time because they're running late.
