If anything, it left us wondering just how many times we can visit in a week. Nestled into a small plaza sits McKinley's Yum Yum Shop. You can't just call it an ice cream parlor because there's so much more than that. The whole left side of the building is mainly dip ice cream, but also assorted baked goods for sale. They make a mean banana split. The far side of the store has boiled peanuts and a cold storage fridge for milk and Ashe County cheese. The right side of the store has various local items for sale - including coffee roasted less than 30 minutes away! The middle of the store is candy priced by the pound, something that isn't too common these days, but I'm here for it. The sitting areas are a mix of tables with chairs and booths. They even have some outside seating. The decor is fitting to the restaurant. Each table has a small basket with napkins and hand wipes, which is a nice touch when littles get sticky hands from melted ice cream. The prices are great! I found everything to be very reasonable. I'm excited to return many times and sample more of the store. Friendly people, prompt service, and a great atmosphere is what this place has to offer.

The atmosphere and ambiance always stellar w the wood menus, table settings started w hot bread. Food was always fresh and delicious w an incredible staff that made us feel @ home. incredibly sad Chef Todd relocated to North Carolina. The pretzel bread w seasoned butter (pink sea salt) was always a fun start. Our absolute favorite items on the menu were the steaks and fresh scallops which both melted in your mouth. The Steak, typically fillet, was always cooked to perfection. Since all the ingredients were farm to table, local and organic, it had a remarkable taste and the egg on top of the steak was a nice touch. Posted a few pictures below which got my taste buds salivating. Chef Todds passion for food and his menu is infectious. Not only will the food absolutely knock your socks off but the mouthwatering journey he takes you on will leave an everlasting memory. We highly recommend Terre e Terre.
