I emailed them, expressing my interest in a few items. While I didn't expect a response until they were open, Fran invited me to stop by anyway (we had already departed the OBX). She was kind enough to process our order and ship it safely and securely to us. Again, all before they opened for the season! We were so very pleased with our purchases and the kind service. This continued today when Fran realized that they had charged us twice for our order, something I hadn't realized. She had issued a refund as soon as she learned about this and emailed me the receipt. Again, what an exceptional level of Customer service. We look forward to visiting Duck again and visiting with the good folks at Duck General Store in person!

We stopped in on our way to meet my mom and her friends who are renting one of the cottages just behind the store. We easily found parking and found the various little items my mom needed for the picnic/bbq inside. I grabbed a fresh spinach salad from the back area for $6.99 and it was delicious! So glad I did... tons of spinach, fresh fruits, cheese, sesame seeds and some really good ranch dressing. It was a huge portion for only $6.99 and if I had to come back, I'd grab the chicken Cobb salad for $8.99 without even hesitating. I went to the gas station, picked some up and went back to the house I was staying at. After opening the container, I realized that it was actually not the kind of coolant needed for my car (tip: I found what I needed for my particular vehicle at Food Lion). I decided to see if I could return it (knowing I may be turned down especially since it had been opened) but they were great! I even offered for them to just give me gas credit, but they gave me a full refund back on my credit card which was really nice, especially in a stressful situation where I was searching all over to find coolant for my car. Again, this is the last place that you can get gas, or maybe it is the first place depending on which way you approach this place. It kind of is in need of some dire remodel, maybe expand into the empty storefront next door and make the convenience part more convenient. I think it has been empty for some time and not getting any fuller at this point.
