I read through other reviews here and none of what was said has been my experience. Ive been using the same therapist most times and find it helps when they are familiar with your issues and what you like -- the pressure level, etc. I've developed tennis elbow recently and she worked specifically on my forearm to help with this. read more

This place goes against its own policies! My girlfriend came to visit me from Miami, and we scheduled a massage appointment for some girl time. An hour ago, my friend's husband called to tell us that their daughter got into a massive car accident and needed to go home. My friend called to cancel the appointment and was told that she would be charged 50% for late cancellation and that her daughter's accident is NOT considered an emergency! They charged her; my friend just sent me the confirmation. This is an outrage, and I encourage anyone to stay away. Horrible management. Can not keep good staff. Was a recurring member for 6 months had 5 different therapists because they kept leaving. Canceled the membership and paid a 30 day notice. They told me because I paid the 30 day notice. I would have one more credit. After the last massage was over they told me at the front that I did not have one more credit and charged me $130.00 for the last session. Front desk changes all the time. There are plenty of other massage studios in port orange or Daytona. Staff is also unprofessional and is a rough bunch not calming at all. Horribly ran business. read more

Absolutely avoid this business if you're looking for a relaxing, professional place to get a massage! Their management and customer service is the worst!!! I should have known that it was going to be a hot mess when I went to set up a monthly membership for my husband and I. Day one, the receptionist saw me walking up to the door and locked it in my face and turned off the lights. This was an hour and a half before they were supposed to close. I called them, and the young woman said that she saw me. Yes, I know. I saw you see me. That is why you locked the door and turned off the lights. I was told that she did it because the massage therapists didn't have any more appointments scheduled for the day, so they went home. Hand and Stone is supposed to allow walk-in customers. I guess not this new Posner location. I didn't even want a massage. I wanted to set up two memberships and make an appointment. Strike one! My husband and I did sign up for the membership on another day because the location was convenient to our home in Champions Gate. Well, I will tell you that these people do NOT want to stay in business. They do not want your business! I would not be surprised if they go out of business in a few months. We paid for the monthly membership for like 7 months. Our appointments only went smoothly TWICE! We were called numerous times on the day of our appointment to cancel because one or BOTH therapists called out same day. We had a hard time scheduling appointments at the same time a month in advance. The massage therapists don't seem to want to work there, and I guess that I can't blame them. The managers are probably horrible. I requested a call back from a manager because of our negative experience, and no one ever called me back. There seems to be NO MANAGEMENT in this place at all. It is really awful. What should have been a relaxing massage experience became a frustrating nightmare. I specifically requested a female therapist ALWAYS because I'm a sexual assault victim. I showed up for an appointment, and they scheduled me with a male therapist. Needless to say, that was another same day cancellation for me because a female therapist was not available. I have had a massage at an Orlando Hand and Stone location, and it was a totally different experience than this Posner location. We don't want to drive 45 minutes or an hour with traffic to get a massage every month. If you're considering a massage here - DON'T do it! In the first few months of discovering Hand and Stone I was pleased with the massage therapists and the owner/ manager. However over the last 4-5 months the front desk staff seem to be self absorbed and incompetent. I am on a set schedule as I take care of my Pop 24/7 at home. I went in for my appt that Jennifer scheduled for me but on the wrong day. Then she became argumentative that I made the mistake. The Manager fixed the issue to accommodate me but then reoccurring events continued virtually every time after that. I literally began to cringe at having to interact with them when the entire point of a Spa atmosphere is to relax and de-stress. Yesterday I called to discuss an option of maybe renewing the 12-month agreement. I spoke with Rebecca, I even had all my documentation in front of me so I was aware of what I had agreed upon previously. She literally had a tone in her voice as if I was unaware of what I was asking! I asked were there any new promos coming up to renew at that cheaper monthly rate. She then proceeded to lecture me "that was done as a courtesy by the owner". ( suggestion why not say: "I don't believe so let me get back to you" and go ask vs letting someone that spent approx $1200.00 in membership fees, add-ins and tips potentially walk away ...) Then I said I will need to cancel and she then did nothing except to ask why? I explained that with the rate going up and it being approx 25 minutes from my home it was no longer convenient. I refrained from being confrontational. She then began to condescending explain there were more locations ??? And I wouldn't find anything comparable to their pricing closer. So let's address this: The next closet Hand and Stone is 1.5 hours away?! And in 10 minutes I found 7 massage therapists in NSB are some actually cheaper and will come to my home free of charge. At this point I asked that she email me the cancelation form. Her exact words were, " I'm happy to email you the form but I won't get to it today because I'm going to lunch and then have a meeting!" I received the form and now upon reflection will share the main reason I am canceling my membership. When the front desk people, are condescending, argumentative, immature, rude, and have poor attitudes when dealing with the public, both over the phone and in person, it doesn't matter if you have the best Massage therapists and Aestheticians in the area. The business will not succeed. I do feel there are some talented people working and I'm sad to cancel but paying money to feel relaxed to only be aggravated and stressed out by receptionists is not acceptable. read more

RN in the DB area for my 50th birthday the weekend. Needed some pampering. Beautiful, clean and new location. The girls were very accommodating, friendly but professional and thorough. I received a relaxation massage with a peppermint scalp massage and lemongrass foot treatment. Lindsey was fantastic. She worked all the achy muscles just perfect and to my perfect amount of pressure. There was the 10 minutes of health history and the rest was all about me. Booked a dermal infusion facial and massage. I purposely booked the facial to be AFTER the massage. When I arrived, I was told that I was getting facial first, I told them that was a mistake, and I booked to have massage first. The esthetician explained that some body swapped my appointments around, I explained that wouldn't work for me, and I will just get the facial (they ruined my spa day I planned). I was let down, but understood there was a mix up on their end and these things happen. ERIN at front desk didn't apologize, and told me I would be charged for the massage I cancelled. I told them charging me for massage wasn't right, and explained I booked to have massage first, and then facial because I didn't want to smush my face on massage chair after getting an expensive facial, and I didn't agree to let them swap around my services/times. Esthetician was very nice and totally understanding but Erin didn't even apologize for this mix up, and thought charging me for a mistake on their end was a solution. Right before the coronavirus, we thought it would be a good idea to get my mom an experience of hands and stone. My mother had a stroke some years back and still experience some difficulties and a massage may help relax. However, she doesn't feel comfortable(with the pandemic ) with close contact, I suggested that she go get her money back and enjoy the money however she could. Hearts of Stone was not only insensitive, rude, with lack of empathy, THEY REFUSED TO ACCOMMODATE MY MOTHER. They told her to use the gift card to buy in house products, which my mother is sensitive to products/ or to GIVE HER GIFT AWAY! Beware guys! This place is a rip off! More like Hearts of Stone. I had a membership with Hand and Stone Port Orange. I cancelled my membership because I didn't have the time to use them. I had 4 remaining at cancellation. I called in on a Wednesday to schedule one of the 4 and the reception told me I didn't have any until she looked it up and said I had 4. That Friday I go in for my 60 minute massage and go to check out and the receptionist tells me I don't have any messages. I said that's not right when I called in on Wednesday I had 4. She called her manager to figure it out and basically told me I'm shit out of luck. I asked to talk to the manager she said she'll have the manager call me. I have not received a call and my card was charged for another massage with out me signing off on it. This was a week ago. Essentially I paid $350 for a 60 minute massage that lasted max 40 minutes. okay. so this place was absolute garbage. i went with one of my friends and we both had gift cards for an hour facial. when we come out, the receptionist charges us $30 extra dollars completely against my knowledge and my request to NOT CHARGE US UPGRADES. I was happy after my facial, so i payed the money. after further inspection, i went back the next day because i realized i had no reason to pay $30 extra dollars. they had said one of us asked for an upgrade, even thought before the appointment and DURING, we had made it explicitly clear we did not WANT ANY UPGRADES. The receptionist argued with me, and then the manager comes out to argue with me also. i had a good facial specialist, and was happy with it and might've come back. But after the manager continuously argued with me, trying to say i asked for an upgrade, i was sure i would never return to this establishment. we continued to argue until i put my foot down and said that i wanted all my money back. the manager was just tired at that point, and just put it back on my card. i told them i would be reviewing them and my experience. immature people should not be working at receptionists and or MANAGERS. Horrible place, horrible customer service, and now the Hand and Stones are ruined for me. I will NOT return, and if i were you, you shouldn't either. I was also given a birthday coupon, and confused because the coupon said that it was a free upgrade for any massage or facial! i contacted them and the receptionist tried to tell me that it was for "10$ off of an upgrade" which i then argued. and after reading fine print, it says cannot be purchased with a gift card (which the receptionist knew i had). They were completely unprofessional and gave me no leniency about my past experience with them. Like come on, at least give me a reason to want to come back. the facials were good, but not THAT good. I never want to go back to any location, as these happened at the location on Dunlawton av. and sr 100 in palm coast.
