Most days it's easy to shoot a few hoops not many people use this area which is surprising because it's in a very densely populated area between South Station in Chinatown located on Kneeland Street. When you go there in the summer don't be surprised if you see a lot of pick up games a lot of people going there to shoot hoops end up playing a game it's a great summer spot for shooting hoops. Kudos for the city keeping the lights on late until approximately 10 o'clock in the dead of summer sometimes after 11 PM. The park is fully fenced in I would guess the fence is about 20 feet high which is excellent since there's a highway on one side and kneeland Street on the other. The park is actually very clean for being in the in the city and surprisingly there's never a homeless person inside the fencing I found this amusing since they're always on the outside of the gate hanging around asking for change. People are friendly--2 guys were sitting on our rental stoop chatting and very politely moved out of our way as we left, apologizing though there was no reason to ;). We walked a mile to Whole Foods yesterday carrying our groceries home among the 4 of us. We passed the gorgeous public library and through some amazing residential neighborhoods (the architecture!) Awesome little island off of Boston - it seems to contain really cool range of habitats from a…read moremarsh to beaches to forest-y areas. The entire island is probably only a 20-30 minute walk long, and a good amount of it disappears during high tide. There's a lot to explore on the island and a good deal of flora and fauna, and there seems to be a multitude of seashells no matter where you are. The beaches are very rocky and the water tends to be very cold. We saw a large number of birds and reptiles, but there doesn't seem to be any mammals on the island other than small rodents. There are many campsites, from smaller clearings to very large openings that could fit a large event like a wedding. There're quite a few picnic tables and benches as well, but no garbage cans or the like. Walking on the island can be a bit of a pain - there are shells and rocks everywhere, and some of the paths get very hilly and slippery, especially if it's rained recently. Lovells is definitely a camping/hiking kind of island - there are no amenities/stores to be seen and I only saw one public restroom the entire time I was there. The Boston skyline is visible when the sky is clear, and the sunset over the ocean looks amazing.

This is a pretty good bridge for a walk being that it is well over two thousand feet long…read more It's also good for a run and if you are into bicycling there is a bicycle lane on the bridge so you can ride safely over it. If you're driving over the bridge during rush hour traffic it can get a little backed up but for the most part traffic moves pretty smoothly going from one end to the other. This is the bridge that connects Boston to Cambridge so if you are doing a walk along the bridge you can get some gorgeous views of the Boston skyline and MIT. I have walked over this bridge many times and I always make it a point to stop for a break every now and then during the walk so I can take in the views. Anytime you can walk over this bridge during a sunset is definitely a bonus!

As I was riding the bus from Boston to Cambridge, I couldn't help but notice how stunning the views of the city were while it crossed over this bridge. I noticed several pedestrians walking and running across, so I immediately stopped at the next bus stop and headed there to get a closer view. It was the perfect time too because the sun was starting to set. Walked across the bridge and then stopped to admire the colors in the sky. Stunningly beautiful views! Not only did I have the perfect sunset, but the city views were amazing too. The skyline glows at night! If you're someone who enjoys scenic vistas, then you will definitely appreciate what the Harvard Bridge has to offer. The walk across the bridge is pretty delightful as well. There will be other people and of course cars crossing, but it still has this element of peace to it. Maybe I was just too entranced by the sunset to pay attention to anything or anyone else. I did notice that other people stopped and watched the sunset too and took several pictures. I'm guessing that this is a popular spot for it. It felt extremely safe to maneuver even during the night. When in Boston, you're probably gonna have to cross this bridge at some point to reach Cambridge. You might as well make it a point to take a nice little stroll over the Harvard Bridge while you're here. I'd say that it's worth it and so would my pictures too.

There…read moreis quite a bit to look at while walking - pop up art pieces all along the way, beautiful trees, and even some wildlife - mostly birds and rabbits, but every now and again, I'll see a turkey. Toward the North End, there's a carousel and often there is at least one food truck - usually a sweet treat. Luke's lobster is nearby the carousel too. During the summer, they have an artisan market and even some food trucks. There aren't any bathrooms but right across the street - Atlantic, there are a few options--the Marriott at Long wharf, Boston Harbor Hotel, and the Intercontinental.

It was an area fenced in. It had benches inside, and it smelled wonderful. Right at the entrance of the garden, a round fountain stood. To the sides, two large walk-in canopies were surrounded by green. The park was nice. I liked my time there. It was a family-friendly place.

In addition to having eight children of her own, three of whom did not live to adulthood, she also took on the care of six stepchildren. Rachel was the only person in charge of the family's business throughout Paul's well-known midnight ride in April 1775 and the British occupation of Boston that followed. She eventually relocated the family to Watertown, where the Massachusetts Provincial Congress was headquartered, until the British evacuated Boston in March 1776. The square itself was first dedicated in 1946 and restored in 2017, reflecting a growing recognition of women's contributions to Revolutionary history. Today, it serves as a peaceful green space with benches and interpretive plaques that share Rachel's story. Though modest in size, it offers a quiet moment of reflection along the Freedom Trail and reminds visitors that the Revolution was sustained not only by bold actions, but also by steadfast support at home. The square has a few interpretive art installations including a relief sculpture depicting a panoramic view of the square and surrounding wharves as they appeared in the late 18th, a sculptural map that highlights local landmarks and historical features. It includes a compass rose and engraved 'N' to orient visitors and a diorama-style street scene that evokes the traditions and cultural heritage of North End immigrants. It is fitting that this very square is named after Paul Revere's wife owing to the fact that is diagonally across the cobblestone street from the Paul Revere House off the Boston Freedom Trail. On one of the days that we hiked along the Boston Freedom Trail in the North End, we spent time by the Paul Revere House but passed over touring the inside. One of the reasons that I passed over touring the inside was that picture taking was prohibited. For crying out loud, I am a Yelper and we love to take pics. Another reason was that I wanted to spend more time outside on a beautiful summer day. After taking in the architecture of the Paul Revere House, not too far from where the famous words, "The British are coming," we walked inside the tiny paved public square to take a break from touring the Boston Freedom Trail while looking at the Paul Revere House with the charming North End scenery bordering the cobblestone street interspersed with historic lamp posts. The square itself reminded me of a paved New York City school yard. Looking northwest reminded me of centuries of Boston history. It is hard to believe that if I looked below with x-ray vision that my eyes would see the Sumner Tunnel that carries Massachusetts Route 1A under the North End and Boston Tunnel to Boston Logan International Airport. To make a long story short, I recommend spending some time in Rachel Revere Square if you are not up to visiting the inside of the Paul Revere House. If I were to do it again I would of picked up a cup of coffee from the revered Polcari's Coffee to enjoy in the shadow of the Paul Revere House.
