Hanania Auto Group - $29,000 for an engine and labor? - Car Dealers Near Me - Jacksonville, Florida

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with this dealership has been disappointing in epic proportions and has dragged on for more than five months with no real resolution in sight. What was supposed to be a straightforward vehicle purchase turned into an exhausting cycle of miscommunication, delays, and outright indifference. From the moment I drove off the lot, I reported an issue with the vehicle--an issue that should have been addressed next day or couple days. Instead, I've been stuck in a never-ending loop of "we're looking into it," or "someone will call you back." Spoiler: they rarely did. I've made multiple visits, spent countless hours waiting, and repeated the same explanations over and over, yet the dealership still failed to resolve a problem that should not have taken anywhere near this long. What makes it worse is the complete lack of ownership and urgency. Five months later, I'm still dealing with the exact same issue, as if my time and safety mean nothing. My husband who is ill and going through quite the journey has spent tireless hours on this and has actually bookmarked time in his day, everyday, to address this. Not good use of someone's time who is not blessed with much of it.... A dealership's responsibility doesn't end after the sale, but based on my experience, this one seems to disappear the moment you sign the paperwork. The customer service was inconsistent at best and dismissive at worst, and the overall experience was the most frustrating I've ever had with any automotive provider. If you value your time, your vehicle, and your sanity, think carefully before doing business here. My hope is that no one else has to endure what I've gone through. read more

these people sold a car to my sister, it died a month later, they said they could fix it, they realized they can't fix it. 5 months later...let that sink in...they have not done anything to correct this situation...they have the car on the lot and my sister continues to pay the loan. Do not do business with these people!!!! read more

I recently bought my daughter a Q5 from Carmax. Brought it to Audi Jacksonville for an oil change. Was told it was $350, which I thought was very expensive, but I figured it's an Audi. When I got home, I started calling other Audi dealers, including Audi Orange Park which is on the other side of Jacksonville, aa well as several in the Atlanta area since we live in Georgia, and they all said out the door $225 give or take a few dollars. I tried reaching out to a service manager, to see if they could rectify this issue but I had not heard back from them. I will never bring my vehicle to be serviced at Audi Jacksonville again as I feel I was completely ripped off. read more

They've had my auto for four months and can't get the parts in to fix it (extended warranty should take care of this). No response from their GM or from Hyundai USA. FOUR MONTHS! And no, no loaner or rental car. I've purchased four Hyundais but this is my last. :( read more

I have spent the last 4 months trying to get my money back for an insurance plan that after reading realized it was worthless. This company specializes in what the sales people of autos call back room money. I am going to the insurance regulator this friday the 18 0f 2024 as this may stop the silly games of send the check lost in the mail ploy. My wife who also owns and audi bought from out of town after our first plowing received from Hanania on the westside. Listen to this, her front steering wheels on an all road were shaking a little. She was ashamed to tell me until after she had been totally robbed it had cost 9,000.00 to repair the front end on a car with 40,000 miles on it. These folks are not robin hood I tell you and if you want audi buy from out of town and take your repairs to a good honest shop. read more

This dealership (Hyundai) is perhaps the worst dealership I have ever experienced in my 76 years. We purchased a new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe about 6 weeks ago! The orange park dealership did not have the car but said they could locate one in a few days which they did. We purchased a limited model with all the bells and whistles. When the car was delivered there was no mats, no second fob to start the car and no privacy screen for the back of the suV. All of these items where in models they had on the lot in this model! They gave me an iou for the fob and we still don't have it and can't get an answer from the unprofessional workers at the dealership. We had to buy mats and I can assure you we will have to pay them for another fob! Net, go someone else if you are considering buying a Hyundai model! These people will give you a bunch of grief, lies, false promises, and all for the sake of selling you a car! read more

I went to AUDI Jacksonville for a service on my new Audi A5. Arriving at the service station, the friendly person greeted me and asked me to sign the service order without explaining why the service, which I usually pay around 260 USD for, is now almost 900 USD. By looking closer at the bottom, before signing the service order-, the service agent reminded me again that I had to sign at the bottom. When I saw two items that didn't sound right, I asked him what these two items on that list were. He then explained to me that the 1st Item was flushing the coolant system due to possible corrosion, and the 2nd Item was cleaning the injection system because of the carbon in the cylinders and valves AND that this was a requirement from Audi. The total bill was 928 USD !!! I could not believe it, and I knew that this could not be right because the car was just over a year old, so I called the technical department of Audi Ingolstadt in Germany in front of the service agent and explained to the engineer the other side in Germany what's going on by asking ; a) why I need to flush the coolant system of a new car and b) why the fuel injection system must be cleaned and c) why this work, if necessary, would not be under warranty from Audi. After a little pause of a few seconds, the Audi engineer told me that this service requirement was unnecessary and told me (in clear text) that this must be a rip-off. After I asked the service agent if he would like to speak with the manufacturer, he denied and got obviously nervous and then changed his mind by telling me that this was JUST a recommendation from Audi Jacksonville. Because you never know.... You could have rust in the coolant system. I have never heard such a rubbish statement before. If you do not have any knowledge in this field and do not ask any questions, or you are not able to interpret these people's BS, you will be forced to pay because this money is not refundable. This is the 2nd time Audi Jacksonville is trying to rip me off. The 1st time, a few months ago, I had a flat tire that could not be repaired anymore. I drove to the dealership and was told that I needed to change all tires because of the onboard MMI system; the MMI onboard computer system cannot be reset, and the system would not recognize the tires anymore and told me that an error message on the TFT popping up all the time. However, the shock came when Audi Jacksonville asked me 2200 USD for all new tires. Without Installation!!! On my way home, I passed by the Tire King just a few miles away, and the friendly service agent could not stop laughing when I told him what had just happened to me 15 minutes ago. The new tire was only USD 176, all in. If I had signed the service agreement for the oil change and the rip-off recommendation of Audi Jacksonville without checking, I would be a 1000 USD lighter for work that was not necessary at all. THERE FORE. TRUST IS GOOD. CONTROL IS BETTER. Never again HANANIA!!!!!! read more

Around May of 2022 I purchased a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe from Infinity of Orange Park, car had 99158 miles. Since then, it has been in the shop at Hyundai of Orange Park on 4 different occasions for routine maintenance to major engine work. 10/30/22 - had the car for about 146 days/5934 miles driven - CVVT / Crankshaft repairs. 11/27/22 - 28 days/1008 miles later engine no start. 3/31/23 - 124 days/5486 miles later brought in for inspection and routine maintenance. No engine issues reported. 10/3/2023 - 186 days/7658 miles later. Engine trouble again, they listed. most of the same repairs they did the previous Oct. They took it out to test drive after their repairs and the car died after they made whatever repair they are telling me they made. Now it needs a whole new engine. The warranty I was sold at Infinity won't cover the repairs /Hyundai won't assist with the repair and neither will Hanania (Which owns both the place I purchased the car and the location that services the car.) I just retired after almost 25 years in the service, I'm on a tight budget and this car is for the youngest of my 4 children he uses it to get to his college classes and work. Even so while i was waiting to hear if the warranty was going to cover the repair, I told the service department to please give me a quote in case I had to borrow money for the repair. They didn't even bother to do that. For most of the time the car has been in the shop, we were down a car, no loaners available, understandable. We finally got one a few weeks back. Suddenly, we get a call to bring the loaner back and come get out car! That was a message delivered by a runner, my "SERVICE REP" I guess was busy and couldn't get on the phone. I asked if the car was repaired and they just said no, they didn't have the quote for me they just said come get this. So now right before the holidays back down a car, the repair shop that has done all these "ENGINE" repairs now tells me I need to buy a new engine, after it completely gave out after "you" fixed it last OCT. After more research, not on the carfax, but on an invoice from INFINITY themselves before I purchased the car they noted engine knocking, but mentioned nothing of it and reported it nowhere else. Finally, I call Infinity to ask how they fixed the "knocking" they noted, they stated "WE don't work on Hyundai's" ok so I ask who did, Hyundai of Orange Park that who. How does a company so large with dealerships in Florida and all the way up to PA, manage to not be able to rectify an issue like this. The longest my son has been able to operate this car without having to bring it to the shop 7,658 miles and 186 days. read more

STSAY AWAY!!! I was invited to a training by this company as I was interested in a sales position. At the conclusion of the training, they said we needed to pay $879 for the training that would be provided to us after we joined the firm. If we completed the training, this would be reimbursed/. I decided to not pursue a position with this dealership, and they refused to return my money. If they will treat a potential employee this way, how ill they treat you as a customer. read more

I went to the Hyundai dealership on Cassat ave today to have my oil changed. I made an appointment for this service a week ago. I arrived ahead of the schedule time but it took 3 hours to do a simple oil change. I told the adviser I would be waiting for the service to be done and yet this took so long. No one came to tell me if they were having problems or time would be longer then it should have taken. This is the 3rd time I have had my car at this dealership and the third time I have had getting proper service. Not a good service center at all. read more

If there were a lower rating than 1 , they would receive a negative 1 I will share a very disappointing experience I had today at Acura of Orange Park. My 2012 TSX needed a new battery last Wednesday. I had the battery replaced. Once the battery was replaced, I needed to enter the radio code. I had misplaced the card I received when I purchased the car new, therefore I called Acura and was given the instructions to recode the radio. After entering the code, the alarm started going off and the door lock would not function. I called my mechanic and he was busy so I went to Acura of Orange Park service. The service advisor came back to me and said I needed the following maintenance work. It was apparent he was new because he was fumbling around. Actually the few times I had been there for a service issue the service advisors were always new, must be a high turnover position. · Coolant service · Transmission Fluid flush · New serpentine belt · Spark plugs · Fuel induction service All of this except the sparkplugs had been done by my mechanic at 75,000 miles, he did the spark plugs at 105,000 as recommended by Acura, the proposed maintenance cost was $1452.70. What a rip off! Telling me I needed something which did not need to done. If they had bothered to ask, I would have told them this work was all done by my mechanic. Then the service advisor also said I needed a new door lock actuator to resolve the alarm issue. While waiting for the diagnostic report I searched the internet regarding my issue which I should have done before going to the dealer. All that needed to be done was to disconnect the battery for one half hour then reconnect the battery. Once that is done it resets the ECU, just like rebooting a computer and resolves the alarm issue. I paid the outrageous $185 invoice for diagnostic testing and departed. When I got in the car everything was working perfectly, no door lock issue. I called my mechanic and he said if he replaced the door lock actuator it would have cost $386, almost $600 less than Acura of Orange Park quoted. Needless to say, I was furious. I was totally misled. I suspect the technician did disconnect the battery and everything was reset but the service advisor tried to sell me something I did not need. The frightening part of this experience is there are probably many unsuspecting customers ripped off every day at the Hanania group of dealers. I also called Acura to file a complaint. As I mentioned to the professional young lady at Acura, I spoke with at Acura has I understand Acura has little control over the dealers since they are independent businesses. I always keep my cars for ten years and maintain them per the manufacture's maintenance schedule. Next year I was planning on purchasing a new RDX. After today's experience that will never happen and I will be sure whatever car I purchase will not be from a Hanania affiliated dealer. Its no wonder Jack Hanaia bought the former Stein Mart building, after all with all the dishonest money his dealers are earning, he can easily afford to buy the building. I will be sure to tell my friends about my experience and encourage them never to buy from an Hanania affiliated dealer. Fortunately, Hanania does not own any Lexus dealers which I will buy next year. I do plan to contact the appropriate state agencies as well as the local consumer affairs reporters at the local TV stations regarding this experience. read more

These guys are dinosaurs. They are using tactics that worked in the "good old days" When I asked for a quote on a new Canyon, it was prices $4000 over MSRP, plus an additional $1500 in undefined fees. When I asked about fees the answer was "we charge them because we can" Don't fall for it, it as close to a scam as you can get. Legal, but not ethical. It is a great way to permanently lose customers read more

I had the worst experience with their Buick dealership. Stay away they are straight up criminals and try to pull a bait and switch on.my elderly mother. We negotiated a price they pulled her credit. Then later they tried to hide that they had raised the price of the car by over $2000. Shame on Julian s. And the dealerships underhanded tactics. Please think twice about bringing this dealership your money. read more

Bought a Kia EV6 from this dealership from out of state. The dealership lied and told me it was the GT when in fact it was the GT line. They overcharged me $16,000! Then they tried to make another $2,000 on top of that in shipping. This dealership is the worst I've seen or even heard of. Stay clear of this place. I am going to start petitions against this place and have emails and texts to prove all their wrong doing. They have no integrity and even knew they were robbing a military veteran. read more

SHAME ON THE FIAT Showroom sales staff! What a horrid experience, we were ignored by three (3!) salespeople. No greeting, no offer of assistance and no product knowledge with regard to the inventory available. Bate and switch seems to be standard operating procedure as the vehicle prominently posted on the website was NOT AVAILBLE. When we finally were assisted? we were met with a serious lack of knowledge or any level of energy to make the sale. It's not like there were crowds pounding down the door to buy the unsold 2015 stock still on hand ..... you'd think a little effort to move the stock would have been made........ NOPE! This was my second and LAST visit to a HANANIA dealership! We went to KIA down the street and purchased a newer and better equipped vehicle and had a GREAT experience. SHAME ON HANANIA! read more

unprofessional to my grandfather, they treated him like a scum and didn't even give him a quote when he asked for one the employee said "We will just sell it next week" definitely don't go to this dealer as they were not respectful at all and didn't want to answer any questions. read more

Don't buy a car from any of the dealers in the hanania auto group. They are low life scum when it comes to customer service.

Typical steel peddlers. When purchasing, you can't breathe without a salesman in your face, of course, after the contract is signed, you become a nobody to them. I think the service department keeps their phone off the hook. You'll typically be on hold 20-40 minutes and suddenly the call is dropped or until your phone loses charge. On a positive note, I caught up on my 90's greatest hits by being on hold for hours with no results. read more

I decided to purchase the vehicle that I had leased from this location 3 years ago. While this dealership appeared to be anxious for this easy sale, it seemed to me that the experience after I signed the purchase agreement was like I had now been forgotten. Beginning with taking almost a full month to payoff my lease. I didn't know that until I received an overdue notice from the finance company. The finance manager had addressed the wrong vehicle. Trying to communicate with anyone at the dealership after this became a nightmare to me. From the finance manager to the sales manager to the dealership owner, I had to initiate the phone calls as I could not get these stated individuals to return my calls. When I called, I was told that the individual was not available or not in.The owner never did return my call. In addition to taking a long time to payoff the lease, I was charged a pre-delivery charge of $899! They did nothing to the vehicle to earn this, not even looking at it,  as I already had and was using the vehicle. To me, it seems that they charged me for nothing. Again, trying to communicate with someone became almost impossible. I had promises of "getting back to me" but it didn't happen. This was my experience to date with Jack Hanania Cheverolet in St. Augustine, Fl. read more
