Rice Cakes

Tried Han Jan Pocha for the first time and was a little disappointed. We got one of everything on the menu (outside the soup). First, the vibe is great. Music is on point. Parking wasn't terrible. Good for parties. We came on a Sunday at 6:30pm and had a group of 8 people! Appetizers: Corn Cheese- 5/5, can't go wrong with this. it's a big serving and was good for a party of 8! Fried Dumplings - 4/5, they were good. I think 1 serving came with 5 dumplings! Spicy Stir Fied Rice Cake - 5/5, actually very good. Wish it came with more rice cake though. K-Dog, 4/5, it was okay! We ordered it for the kiddos with the sauce on the side. Kimchi Fries, 4/5, fries were crispy and the beef on top was good! Main Food: Vegetable Pancake - 0/5, honestly the worst pancake I have ever had. I had to stop eating it. So much vegetable, soggy.. and just not impressed. Kimchi Fried Rice - 4/5, actually flavorful, cripsy and the egg on top made it delish. Pork Belly - 4/5, it was good. I typically like it much more crispy, but it wasn't bad. Enjoyed wrapping it in lettuce and eating with some rice. Bulgogi - 4/5, portion size was good. had flavor and was overall decent. Lunchbox Spam/Rice - We ordered this, but I didn't get to try it! Oxtail Soup - this was a special.. and I'd give it a 0/5. No flavor. The waitress heard us and brought us salt/pepper and we had to add soy sauce to make it taste decent. Definitely not worth 15.99. Service was quick and very friendly. The pricing was okay... not sure I'd come back unless they had a change in menu.

Food and drink - amazing

My favorite Korean place to eat in Oklahoma City. The staff is so fun and engaging and enjoyable. The food is delicious.

I recently stumbled on Han Jan Pocha while looking for a late night bite after a long pickleball tournament. The perfect balance between a low light ambiance, fun music, and satisfying food delivered all the key ingredients for an exciting yet relaxing evening with friends. I was most impressed with their pork belly dish and lunch box special because of its simple yet delicious flavor profile. An extra bonus is the portion size and price, which was an incredible deal for me and my friends. The service was and attentive with a click of a button and our alcohol and food came out just as fast. Overall I highly recommend this Korean style bar for any late night snackers looking for a good time.

This is an awesome Korean Gastropub with amazing food and soju- and the perfect venue to host an event or mixer of some type. Service was exceptional and both Brian and Henry were very attentive in checking in with me. I got the japchae and the ramyun which were awesome. Also this might be the only place in OKC (or OK for that matter) that serves bossam (cold sliced pork) dishes. Got a great lychee flavored cocktail as well. Highly, highly recommended!

This is the ultimate late night spot in OKC to hit your salty and soju cravings before heading out on a night of dancing or just chilling with good company. The service is top-notch and there's a variety of Korean street foods that range from small snack-sized mandu to larger dishes like bossam. I love the neon lights, decor, and the cute photo wall where you should 100% pose with friends after drinking from the bowl(s) of watermelon soju. Will definitely be back!!!

Food was amazing, service by Henry and Steven was very warming and welcoming. Ambiance of the building is dark and helps you enjoy the night light food.

(Front to back) dosirak, bossam, & ramyeon
Mary N.

First time at Han Jan Pocha, my husband and I enjoyed it. The service was good. The ambience is similar to other pocha places in the okc metro area. We ordered bossam, ramyeon and dosirak. The bossam was delicious (although we weren't use to cabbage instead of lettuce... but it's the more authentic approach). Not much to say about the ramyeon as it tasted like any other packaged shin ramen. My favorite would have to be the dosirak. It's a "lunchbox" that you can stir and mix. Very flavorful and lots of different textures! Loved it! I would recommend. Definitely give this place a try if you're in the area.

To-go Ttekbokki (minus sausage and egg)

Giving this a five-star review optimistically because I did not partake in what seems to be their primary moneymaker (drinks) and only came for the food. They seem to still be figuring out how to make money from the food, which is kind of disorganized. And that's unfortunate, because the food really is good and the neighborhood could really use a functioning restaurant where Ingrid's Kitchen used to be. I hope they get their act together and give the food the kind of promotion and accessibility it deserves. First of all, as of my visit on Friday, August 30, they don't have a discernible online presence of any kind. No website, no social media (although the servers were tentatively setting up a TikTok), no online ordering, not even a phone number yet to call ahead for takeout. If you want to order takeout, like I did, your only option is to enter the restaurant, place an order in person, and wait. I am hesitant to post the current menu, because new restaurants sometimes change it when they learn what items will be in demand, and because they were already out of ingredients for the egg soufflé and other diners who visited later in the weekend report that they were out of other ingredients. But I will post it for people to see. Again, this would be a great reason to at least have a phone number customers could call so they could find out what's available before they're physically in the building, or to have an online menu that could be controlled by the restaurant instead of based on hearsay from a reviewer who visited right after opening in August 2024. I ordered: - Ttekbokki with no sausage. I found out when I got home with it that they also left out the egg without warning me (possibly they were out of eggs, since they said they didn't have ingredients on hand to make the soufflé). Regardless, this was delicious even with just the sauce, fish cake, and toothsome, glutinous rice cake bits. I really liked the sweet-spicy red sauce (like a curry?). Sorry, I'm not super familiar with Korean food. - Mandu. The meat-eater in my house said these were good and the dipping sauce was especially good. - Maangchi. This was good even though a melty cheese appetizer is not best enjoyed as takeout. I think they left out the mayo though? - Yachaejeon. This is the thing they recommend most to vegetarians (and pescatarians like me). It was delicious, and the meat-eater and I tore it up. - Bulgogi. Good reviews from the beef-eater. In addition to these things, I asked if the kimchi jjigae was vegetarian, or maybe if it had fish sauce, which would still be okay for me, and my server went to the kitchen to check and came back to tell me it actually had meat pieces in it. I would love to see a menu item for vegetarians to get to try some kimchi! If they keep serving food and decide not to give up and become a drinks-only place like half the businesses already are in the 39th Street neighborhood, we'll be going back, but it will be hard to recommend it to friends and family without some kind of online ordering or official menu available that I can link them to. I would really like this restaurant to be successful so we don't have another two years of an abandoned storefront on this intersection like we did after Ingrid's closed. Best of luck to Han Jan Pocha!

This place was a great spot to hang out at. There were games on the screens to play, the music was good, the food was all great the Korean corn dog and the cheese corn were definitely worth to get, and the server Alli was quick, attentive, answered every question I had and especially quick with refills of water, The soju was a fun thing to try especially with the multitude of flavors.

Came in with friends on a Sunday night and it was slow here. Three items on the menu they are out of from the day before, I don't get it. Service was bad as a whole had to ask for everything every time. Never did they refill water on their own or make sure we had what we needed to eat our food. They forgot what we ordered and needed to ask where one of our dishes was. So that was the bad. Now to the good for some reason, I somewhat like the place. Food was not bad for what we got. I give them props for the flavor of the food. They are nice people just don't know how to run a restaurant. With some friends drinking and not caring what service is like it could be a cool place to hang out.

This was an impromptu celebration due to family being in town for the holidays and my daughter's birthday. The establishment offers a promotion of one free hour in a medium room (which accommodates up to 11 people) with a minimum $100 spend. I asked whether we could pay the difference to use a large room since we had 12 guests, but was told that was not an option. We were happy to proceed regardless and paid for one hour in the large room. When our paid hour ended, some guests had left. I asked if we could then move to a smaller room and use the complimentary hour. I was told no rooms were available, but that we were welcome to remain in the same room for the additional hour. We stayed and were careful to leave exactly at the one-hour mark. Unfortunately, when I received the check from Tristan, it included charges for two hours of the karaoke room. When I questioned this, his response was extremely rude, stating that "I had a choice not to stay." This did not reflect the conversation I had with our waitress. I explained that I was disappointed this was being disputed, especially considering our approximately $500 tab, but the issue was not resolved respectfully. While we did enjoy ourselves overall, the customer service was very disappointing. Sierra was polite and genuinely tried to de-escalate the situation, which was appreciated. However, due to Tristan's complete disrespect, and handling of the situation, we will not be returning. The food was just ok, the derive was slow (we were told there was only 3 servers out of 8) but we were there more for the experience, which was obviously skewed because of the poor customer service.

Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to make some nice recommendations. The Japchae for 2 absolutely serves 2 and is an excellent appetizer. We ordered the Kimchi soup (which has pork IN it, not just on top), Udon Jjamppong, bulgolgi, and grilled spicy pork. The kimchi soup was amazing. I'd prefer a more sour kimchi flavor, but this was still an amazing dish! The soup stayed hot the entire time. It was also served with rice. The Udon was boiling when it came out (as it should be! We love a hot meal), the seafood was cooked perfectly, the broth had a delicious rich flavor, and we subbed udon or ramen noodles. The noodles didn't add much in my opinion, but I can see this being a popular choice! We also requested extra spicy and the chef surely delivered. I usually love bulgolgi. I don't entirely love the seasoning on this one OR the bed of glass noodles, but that's just my opinion. Also served with rice! The grilled spicy pork (served with rice lol) had good flavor and a nice crisp. We were honestly so blown away with how good the soups were that the meats fell to the background. The pork was still spicy and flavorful! Definitely recommend. My only note to make this a full 5 stars would be the addition of banchan. There is a little bit of a wait between ordering and getting your entrees, so some Korean side dishes would've been nice to snack on. They did serve pretzels, but I just thought it was out of place. We really enjoyed our experience and even ended the night with some Melona! We will be returning.

My spouse and I went, so we only had a party of 2. We didn't know that the servings of meats would be so large until after they came to the table, so we didn't get to try anything else. We struggled to even finish the first round since again, there were only 2 of us. We ordered the spicy pork belly, but were brought plain pork belly that did not taste fresh, spicy bugolgi that was off putting, NY steak which was fine, and the steamed egg which was delicious. The cold bar was not at all impressive. Veg included enoki mushrooms, bell peppers, jalapeños, onions, lettuce, sweet potatoes, salad mix and a couple others. There was also disgusting Japchae. Slimy, no veg, barely seasoned. None of the kimchi was good either. Cabbage kimchi was not sour at all, radish kimchi was limp and not at all crisp, cucumber kimchi was shriveled and salty. The sauces and seasonings were fine. Nothing to write home about and definitely nothing to bring me back. The crushed garlic and lemon slices were my favorite parts. I recommend adding something spicy like a chili oil, pepper flakes or Thai chilies. The hot pot was my favorite part, but only after I doctored the broth. The spicy broth was just a grocery store pack of sichuan base (not even spicy) and the clear broth didn't taste like anything. I put vinegar, kimchi, and onion in mine to even make it tolerable. Again, the portions are also too big to try anything other than the first round. We ordered udon noodles, Napa cabbage, one of the beef options, and glass noodles. A whole plate of beef came out, which we also struggled to finish (we ordered the hot pot and bbq meats at the same time so it all came out at the same time.) If you're only coming with two people, I recommend picking one or the other to get your moneys worth. After tax and before tip the total was 95$ for bbq and hotpot without drinks. One round of meats and a mediocre cold/salad bar is not worth that price. My recommendation for the restaurant, provide proper kimchi, expand your sauce/seasoning bar, reduce the portion amount for meats each round so people can try more things and reduce waste, or turn it into a serve yourself buffet type deal. Self serve noodles would've a great addition as well. Now the service. We had to move tables after we let our server know we wanted to do hot pot AND bbq to accommodate a second burner. Not a big deal, just slightly inconvenient. The ordering process was complicated because the hot pot ingredients menu is a piece of paper separate from the bbq menu. The grill wasn't changed for us until after I started taking pictures of everything which was kind of suspicious but whatever. The restaurant wasn't even busy, I shouldn't have to start taking pictures to get better service (which wasn't even the intention). We did not have the best experience. The price for the quality served is not justifiable.
